I LOVED LOVED Parts Unknown and No Reservations!! I miss Anthony, I loved him. He wasn't done, he had so much more to show us. I remember where I was when I heard he died. I had just become a nurse and i was in a patient's room, it was on the news. I was like 'What?? How??'.
My top top favorite places he went were Iran and the Congo. I also loved Tokyo and Laos. All are my favorite though. Oh all the German ones too! And of course the shows he did with Eric Ripert. I want to go back and watch all of them over again.
Anthony, thank you for all the laughs, food, and knowledge. I learned so much. Not a dull moment and the perfect tragedy. Life is hard and sometimes life gets skewed and kills. I love you!! And I send blessings to your daughter, hope she is doing well. Our daughters are about the same age💧. Thank you Anthony💋♥️

I read his book " kitchen confidential" when no one really knew who he was. Having worked in fine dining and restaurants most of my life the book really pulled the curtain back on the industry. Great book.

This is why I prefer to be alone, I've had my heart stompped on, I know how intense despair can be,but the view in the rearview mirror reminds me that no woman is worth that much agony!

Although he was obviously enamored by Asia, he was not stupid. In those last days he became keenly aware that the feeling was NOT mutual. This often happens when men hit middle age. They attract the attention of a younger woman (he to her youth/beauty, she to his wealth/power). In the throes of a mid life crisis they throw caution to the wind. Many of his friends tried to warn him to slow down in regard to Asia. They described him acting like a teenager in love. He assured them there was nothing to be concerned about but did share that they had plans to live together. Those pictures jolted him into reality. Not only was she cold in their phone calls/texts when he confronted her, the last text telling him to “stop busting my balls”…she also posted a pic of herself wearing a Sid vicious t-shirt that said F*%k Everyone and added the caption “you know who you are.” Anthony had blindly backed her in the Harvey Weinstein chaos that followed. Only to realize she was accused of SA herself. He (like many wealthy people) was not ‘cash’ rich. Yet he put together the cash to pay off her accuser. In the end he was completely humiliated by her total lack of gratitude and loyalty. IMO he didn’t want to live thru the shame that these revelations would bring. He considered himself fairly street savvy and yet he was completely bamboozled by Asia. Although I agree it’s not fair to hold her responsible, as women we’ve all heard these women brag about the lengths they get men to go to. As I’m sure men have heard locker room talk from other men about how they are playing multiple women. It’s the individuals choice to take their own life and they hold that responsibility but to be so callous with others feelings is unforgivable.

It was a very sad situation. You can see from both Kitchen Confidential and Medium Raw that he was deeply damaged. Always happy to believe he was worthless, always suffering from imposter syndrome. I expect he thought all of his birthdays had come at once after hooking up with Asia Argento, while at the same time continuously waiting for the other shoe to drop. He had said before that he felt like he'd stolen a car and spent all of his time looking in the rear view mirror for the cops to pull him over. It seems like he spent a lot of his time convincing himself that he deserved to even be in this world, let alone in the position he found himself in. Perhaps the photos were what just broken him. All of that can't be blamed on Asia though, she probably didn't really know what she was getting into.

He was way way too old to think two people could play those kinds of games and come out intact and with trust and respect. They clearly had no relationship but one of convenience, yet he asked her to take him back. Back where? They never had a relationship. It’s shocking a woman of such profoundly low standards and quality could have gotten so much power over his emotions considering all the living he had done. She was so not worth his time and sadly he actually forfeited his life over her. A young girl is without her father forever over someone so unworthy of his interest. He told her she didn’t belong to him, said she was free but then he said she was cruel with his heart. It was certainly a convoluted situation. It’s so sad he didn’t give himself enough time to gain some distance and a clearer perspective to realize she was so undeserving of his graveling. They’re appropriately called emotional sadists. If only he could have seen her for what she truly is.

He loved the chase and wanted her because she didn’t want him. Too many people have allowed the wrong person to be their downfall because they refused to give up and see the truth.

In 5 years nobody will give a shit about Asia Argento. I already don’t give a shit about her. She’s Dario Argento’s daughter, that’s it.
But we will still be reading Anthony’s books and seeing his programs.

To be fair with Tina Turner, she died of natural causes. Although I don't exactly remember if it was confirmed initially when her passing was announced, she was in her late 80s, so most people were shocked and saddened but not heartbroken. I understand with Anthony Bourdain, though. When it comes to suicide specifically, there's more to it than what was said here. I'm interested to see an episode on Kate Spade, since her suicide was in the same month as Anthony's and also was due to marital/relationship issues.
