This was a very feel-good video. I don't blame Ame for being disenchanted with modern culture, especially when it comes to dating. It is rather overwhelming; and it's not unusual for a person simplify where possible to more easily find happiness. We forget to appreciate the small things and it's so easy in a world where we can be infinitely distracted. Sometimes it is the best thing in the world to sit in silence alone, or with your loved one, or pet (tbh those fur-faces are loved ones too). It is admirable to be happy with less. I think this is where we focus on what is most important.

There is also a big problem with so many people who are actually in love with themselves and aware/unaware of it but certainly more than okay with it. You can see it all over the faces of people who make these videos, how they smile at themselves and how they look at themselves in cameras and mirrors…. How they talk about themselves label themselves describe themselves compliment themselves. I think this is the problem that the current young generations and their kids will face as the world has turned into a place where people get gratification and validation from courting themselves basically. If you allow yourself to become narcissistically in love with yourself, your quirks, words, actions, habits, looks, thoughts… then there’s not enough room to genuinely allow someone else into your heart and life. A relationship is two peoples desire to be selfless in love with another. Nowadays the narcissistic view of relationships is someone who is about you and okay with you being about you. Which would work except now everyone across most youth age ranges has bought into the same mentality and is expecting that one sided relationship… very few are willing to be on the selfless side now. Anyways not saying that about you as a person but more of my observation on what’s going on out there. But you see videos like Ame’s and it does call to question whether there’s any room for anyone in Ame’s life when she has very much made a life that is 100% focused on her whims and wants and supported by her ability to market to UA-cam content founded on how attractive she finds herself on all levels. But listen to what she’s looking for, someone who is entirely focused on her aesthetic from the very getgo. She doesn’t list any traits she wants in a partner, just “someone who drew me because I’m beautiful” Yes there are other problems in dating but this by far is the most common and furthest reaching issue because it is the root of so many other difficulties out there.

I'm 68 years-old, lifetime single, and a retired software engineer living in a travel trailer with two wonderful cats. It's kinda like being a kid in a tree house. A materially minimalist existence can be a life of personal luxury. I love my retirement, my mobility, and my cats. Here in Arizona, USA, the time is 7:20 AM, the temp is 73F (23C), I have my windows open, and life is very good. Most married old folks are living somewhere between blah and miserable. The happiest guys are single and living with nice pets.

There is also a big problem with so many people who are actually in love with themselves and aware/unaware of it but certainly more than okay with it. You can see it all over the faces of people who make these videos, how they smile at themselves and how they look at themselves in cameras and mirrors…. How they talk about themselves label themselves describe themselves compliment themselves. I think this is the problem that the current young generations and their kids will face as the world has turned into a place where people get gratification and validation from courting themselves basically.
If you allow yourself to become narcissistically in love with yourself, your quirks, words, actions, habits, looks, thoughts… then there’s not enough room to genuinely allow someone else into your heart and life. A relationship is two peoples desire to be selfless in love with another. Nowadays the narcissistic view of relationships is someone who is about you and okay with you being about you.
Which would work except now everyone across most youth age ranges has bought into the same mentality and is expecting that one sided relationship… very few are willing to be on the selfless side now.
Anyways not saying that about you as a person but more of my observation on what’s going on out there. But you see videos like Ame’s and it does call to question whether there’s any room for anyone in Ame’s life when she has very much made a life that is 100% focused on her whims and wants and supported by her ability to market to UA-cam content founded on how attractive she finds herself on all levels. But listen to what she’s looking for, someone who is entirely focused on her aesthetic from the very getgo. She doesn’t list any traits she wants in a partner, just “someone who drew me because I’m beautiful”

I'm 68 years-old, lifetime single, and a retired software engineer living in a travel trailer with two wonderful cats. It's kinda like being a kid in a tree house. A materially minimalist existence can be a life of personal luxury. I love my retirement, my mobility, and my cats. Here in Arizona, USA, the time is 7:20 AM, the temp is 73F (23C), I have my windows open, and life is very good. Most married old folks are living somewhere between blah and miserable. The happiest guys are single and living with nice pets.
