Aiel on the Blood Snow! Great reaction and thoughts. I have a suspicion that "the 5 of you" was edited in for the trailer. It's different than what was shown in London and Nynaeve doesn't look to be in the scene from the aftermath of Wintersnight. Very exciting time to be a WoT fan.
The show runners have said they want to play up the mystery of who the Dragon Reborn is going to be, and it makes sense to give five to one odds on who it is. But we also don’t know how many episodes they are going to play this mystery out. For marketing sake, and for people who don’t know the story at all, it makes it easier to pull people in without showing the complexity of this story and turning them off by appeasement for the fans. Watch the show runners break down of the trailer, and you will appreciate his knowledge of the story, and be more at ease.

I am SO happy that you were able to do your reaction to the Final Trailer. You didn't cry, but I did. I was really happy for you to see it. I've now watched it over 50 times. Seeing breakdowns and discussions. Theories of what is going to happen. Oh, so good. One of the FIVE. Yeah, caught that. I get why they are doing it...for they want the reveal of who the Dragon Reborn is to be a secret. We know that it has always been a male, but the new viewers will not know that part of the mythology. BUT, then again...in one of the flicker, flicker, flicker sequences that we get in The Great Hunt and other books later in the series...could there have been a FEMALE Dragon? It begs the question, at least. Since, it IS a multiverse of possibilities that COULD have happened. But, honestly (not joking), I believe they are preserving the mystery. I actually wish they had said "one of you" without designation of number. Left us understanding...you either know, or you don't. The Oath Rod looks different than what the books say (solid), versus carved. I like this change. My biggest question that I've had is...when is she swearing her oaths and to whom? I can see that she has her signature blue dress (which looks AMAZING), but she can't be swearing her oaths to becoming an Aes Sedai to Siuan Sanche. Though the Amyrilin Seat is darker in complection, like Siuan Sanche, but I'm hoping that the Amyrlin Seat that was there was ALSO darker in skin and we just don't see her face (though the voice sounds like Sophie Okonedo). OR is she reswearing her oaths 'cause she's been gone for a LONG time? That is the ONLY thing that made me scratch my head. Did you see that they did NOT show Perrin eyes when the Whitecloaks were surrounding them? Maybe because they have changed? Did you see the guy laying down on the bottom left corner of the screen...that is Aram the Tinker. Cool. That scene with Aemon Valda burning the Yellow Sister at the stake and eating his meal. The Children of the Light are for REAL in the TV series. Also, I think he cuts her finger off, to get the ring...cause his fingers are bloody when he puts the ring on the tassle hanging off his cumber bun. And you can see the burning Aes Sedai in the goblet that he's drinking from. Yikes! Also, did you see the Aiel? Two different Aiel. One may be Rand's biological father and the Illian Companion (with the mustard yellow cape) may be Tam al'Thor...since he was at the Blood Snow and the Shining Walls campaign...fighting for Illian. That is SO cool. Yes, the Trollocs look EPIC. Practical effects are AMAZING. Did you see Narg coming at Tam in the homestead. Tam unsheaths the heron marked sword and fights him off. Great scene. Also, that scene where Perrin asked Egwene if they'll ever come back. Great scene. Especially for him and his arc (in the books) and also her arc (in the books). Such a powerful line. There is just SO much happening. I cannot wait.

Great reaction video. Those Aiel shots are my favorite and the Trollocs look great (and by that I mean scary and terrifying!). I also thought Fal Dara and the Shienarans looked very cool.
I was super excited about the focus on Moiraine & Aes Sedai as well, and loved the bit where she said one of the five. I'm really hopeful about the adaptation!
I am really hopeful too! A lot of the people working on the show are fans and have put a lot of thought and care into how it is being adapted. It’s so exciting 😆
I think Moiraine kinda has to be the main character for book 1/ New Spring if you are trying to merge them. The two rivers folk will grow in prominence as we go forward.
I had the same thought when she said one of the 5 too! I'm not mad about it but I thought it was an interesting change they're making. Anyway, I'm so excited! I just finished the first book for the first time and I'm even more excited to watch this!

According to Jordan, the male soul is always male, it does not mean that woman can't be Dragon, but it does mean that Dragon's male soul has ended up inside a woman's body, she would be transgender .... and because it is the soul that has a spark for channeling, not body! Dragon women would channel Saidin the male half of the one power... Same as Halima, the male forsaken inside women 's body ... she channeled Saidin that's why Egwene could not detect her channeling ... meaning even if Egwene was Dragon she would channel Saidin and still go mad! I am 100% sure Rafe is not going to change who is the Dragon! I believe Rafe does not intend to change anything at all ...except acknowledge that trans men born inside the female bodies are men and should be at least considered when searching for Dragon, because it is a soul that makes you a man or a woman ... that is actually a beautiful thing to do! and works totally with Jordan's logic...hence Halima is only proof that it is a soul that has a spark for channeling also means it would work the same for other transgenders and it would be silly to assume that there were none, just because we have never come across one in books, particularly because Wot is meant to be actually our world in a distant future and we do know there are transgender people in our world!
It was so good to see your reaction to to this. I think this was my favorite of the trailers and teasers so far. It will be really interesting to see the way everything pans out in terms of the dragon reborn. I’m pretty sure the prophecies in the book are pretty explicit in saying the dragon reborn is a man? So that will be interesting to see how they integrate the possibility of it being Egwene or Nyneave into the lore given how deeply gender differences influence the world building and magic. Great video. Can’t wait to see your reaction to the first episodes.
LOL I’m so curious how all the forsaken are going to be handled in the show. I know on my first few reads I was often confused by them and had a hard time keeping track of them all, so I’m curious how different that will be now that there will be a visual element!

I agree about the “one of the five of you.” Not only is it technically true, but it is a great illustration of how Aes Sedai truth is not necessarily what you think it is. Plus, it’s an excellent way to manipulate Nynaeve and Egwene to go to Tar Valon (well, Nynaeve more than Egwene).

Not my thought, but having Moraine be the "lead" for season one is a great move, helps to keep the story focused.
