I am a sucker for this series. I just love the whole ordeal. A shame I have to wait another 3 days but it's totally worth it. My brother in GREG here just grabbed the most henious mod pack, went hardmode like nuts and plus he's breaking the game step by step. All this patience and love for Minecraft I haven't seen in years. That's why I love it, since episode one.
To prevent mob spawns you can use any decorative gregtech block, any chisel block and if i remember correctly any ztones blocks. Gregtech blocks always prevented mobspawns and semi recently it was added to other mods decor blocks. Chisel blocks are very easy to craft en masse by placing stacks into chisel tool instead of chiseling in world blocks. It also costs only 1 chisel durability per stack
For lag mitigation, wood stairs may be substituable for heads as "non full blocks." This works for us for preventing mob spawning but I am not sure about creeper teleporting, you will need to check
I think the major difference between gold & diamond spikes besides damage is that diamond spikes drop player-only loot from mobs, like wither skeleton skulls & blaze rods. Edit: By the way, I think the spikes can have *looting applied in an anvil.
You can grab bigger pipes for more buffer + next best pipes are potin pipes (after reaching twilight forest) so don't worry about using huge bronze pipes as buffers, they are great. + You might want to shift+rightclick with wrench to stop cluttering inside of pipes and choose direction in which fluids should travel. (written durin first 5min of video) 1st Edit: Yeah you used shift+rightlick but it does not work as you think. So when you shift+rightclicked pipe with wrench the arrow pointed towards the macerator and alloy smelter, that means it will prioritize them and split steam equally between them. It will NOT accept any steam comming from machines (if you wanted to block block input you would need the arrow to point other side in this case to pipe below the top one.)

The bricks just reminded me of xycraft from i think ftb ultimate since every xycraft block had the max blast resistance, i still get a small laugh remembering soaryn's response to why
since you have villagers and wood, you can probably make a good iron farm with the old village stacking method and get a lot of iron since you'll need a lot of that and will you help you a lot
Hey, just a thought but in regular Minecraft (idk about the recipe or if its changed in GTNH) mobs cant spawn on buttons. Might be lag friendlier and a lot easier to place.
A button is made by sawing a pressure plate in half. A pressure plate is made with 4 iron screws, 2 stone slabs, an iron spring, and various tools. Stone slabs are made by sawing stone and an iron spring is made by using various tools on a long iron rod. A long iron rod is 2 iron rods smashed together. I think you may see the problem...
I did some calculations to get the silver you need based on how much XP the new mob farm produces and I came to the conclusion that you’ll need to afk for 3.5 hours!
Hi Dan I think you can use less slabs in the spawning platforms and still prevent spiders. I’ve been using one slab in the middle of a 3x3 square, with no spider spawns. Absolutely love this series, keep it up -another Dan

since you have one golden spike left over consider making iron golem farm for infinite passively generating iron and poppies. Aslo good idea to make a tank as a buffer for steam. How are you going to retrieve that liquid xp from a tank?
@@whatareulookingatgirlfriend6 any amount of iron per minute is more than nothing. Efficiency doesn't make any sense since he use buckets of exipience to make iron. That's deffinately more efficient to harvest berries, consume those, transfer liquid xp to a tank, fill buckets with xp, craft iron dust and then smelt it into ingots than just afk for iron, sure
@@Shikamaru953 He proved it to be easier but now he doesn't have to do that because his new mob farm allows him to pulverize the armor he gets and them smelt that which is much better than an iron farm in this version. I get that any amount of iron is still iron but it is so slow it wouldn't make barely any difference and he would still have had to use plenty of xp buckets to even make anything because of how mush iron is needed for anything in this pack.
@@whatareulookingatgirlfriend6 still to get iron ingots he has to do something in order to get those instead of just automatically collect generating iron ingots right away with no need to pulverise and smelt. Even if it's one golem per 16 minutes and on average it's 3 iron ingots per golem it's going to be about 12 ingots per hour. Imagine making iron golem farm right after making second villager. I don't know how many hours have passed after that. I think a lot. And all that time making mob farm, crop breading, cow breading, crafting steam machines it could generate iron. This pack requires approximately 4000 hours to complete in a normal generated word. Skyblock version is going to take much longer. Don't see any reason to argue about efficiency when every bit of resource is very important
@@Shikamaru953 yes but at the same time the reward of the farm is not worth the effort to make it and by halfway into the pack all of the machines will practically be giving him iron and I agree with him that an iron golem farm is a waste of time in this version of the game not only to build but to have running in the background which adds lag that leaves less room for other farms and machines
you can destroy the iron tank blocks with a wrench, you can craft one from iron I think. Also you can smelt the steel dust into ingots without the primitive blast furnace
Why arent you using bottom slabs instead of placed items? It should do the same task while looking better and being more performant? I understand that inside buildings and stuff require them to not affect walking, but on the roof and stuff you should be able to use slabs

You can use the Tank barrel that provides water to the steam, and use it to grab water whit a bucket to replenish your water pool. UWU
IIRC in 1.7 if you add a diamond to your flint pickaxe in the tool station, you'll raise the mining level so it works like a diamond pickaxe.

From what I remember, you can put Steel Dust into a Smeltery to get the ingots out. So not necessarily gated behind the Blast Furnace
But the smeltery needs lava…oof!

Solar Boilers generate steam for no fuel cost and are amazing for passive steam income.
So, looking at the docs... it seems your abouy to get hard gated by the lava reqs for a Smeltery. Only way to get it is the BEES and bee quest

The workbench saves you having to manually replace the buckets. I think they also will ignore durability on tools for recepies.

He already showed in a prev video that in this version the iron golem farm only spawns a golem every 16 minutes and isn't efficient.

you missed a head in front of your entrance to the farm, where mobs canstill spawn
iirc white bricks are stronger than obsidian because ic2 weakens obsidian to the point it can actually be blown up with tnt easily
