The flux from the cauldron won't do anything in small quantities. If a lot of flux is released a tainted biome will be generated and that biome SPREADS. You'll probably need to create it since some items need objects obtained only in that biome, but that will be further out. When you kill mobs you have those small orbs that look like xp, if you have a partially empty wand in your hand you'll recharge it (the orbs are of the color of the aspect they will charge: red->Ignis, blue->Aqua...) always keep a wand in your hand when you kill mobs, it's free progress on thaumcraft. There is an enchantment that converts the killed mobs to cristallized essentia, which grants 1x of a specific essentia and they are really useful for crafting in the cauldron. In my world I carry a couple of wands to recharge every time I use my mob farm so when I need the charged wand I don't have to waste time grinding away essentia or tapping a node. You can treat Zombie Brains and eat them for research points, honestly this is one of the few ways I see for you to continue Thaumcraft, especially before the Thaumometer. You can also infuse them in a cauldron to get essentia-specific ones iirc You will never need healing potions since you can eat Tinker's Construct hearts for 10 hearts, and they stack, so a single stack of hearts will heal 640 hearts, chuck those potions at the villagers If you type "What does it taste like" in NEI you'll see only the items you've never eaten and you can start slowly ticking them off. This will make Blood Magic a breeze and give you an insane amount of health. You can eat almost everything the game has to offer before MV but many things require Pam's Harvestcraft trees which are sold by the villagers, so before killing away every useless farmer check if they have a good trade. Some trees also produce fruits that are straight up better than seeds at making seed oil and some give you fruit juice as a source of food and also energy through a distillation chain Hologlasses make you see what an inventory has without opening the chest, they are given by a quest early on but I'm pretty sure you can also craft them. To me they are an essential time saver, especially early game. The ability is toggleable I applaud your ability to stay sane in a void world, I'd hate to play GTNH this way lol
Honestly this series has gotten us back into GT:NH and has made us appreciate just, playing the game instead of doing only quests :3 Thank you so much GoG, you're a great gamer

Honestly love this series, love to watch these kinds of modpack let's plays, where I know I don't have the brain big enough to actually play trough lol.
There is also a way to get silverwood or greatewood sapling by searching for pure node or eeire node. These nods will change biome to magical or eerie. A "pech" will spawn in these biomes. You can teade them using gold anything.

This has been such a wonderful series to watch. First Minecraft series that I have watched and enjoyed and looked forward to recently that’s not HermitCraft.
For the Bricked Blast Furnace, you do want to always use coal blocks once your compressor is sustainable. You cook 10 items at the price of 9 coal and 9 items or less (depending on the recipe) worth of time.
8:10 this is just a guess, but I think the reason for why the items disappear when they are behind you is because of optimization algorithms intended to reduce lag. It is the same principle that entities are only loaded in when they are in your field of view, ie in front of you. Apparently this doesn't take into consideration what your camera mode is, just what you player model's view SHOULD look like if you were using 1st person view. TL;DR; They are culled to save performance when the game thinks you are not looking at them
* If you ever want to know how to build a multiblock, go to the main controller block in NEI, and click the tab with the blueprint icon to get a 3d model and list of materials. You can also make the item in the tab (Multiblock Structure Hologram Projector from the StructureLib mod) and click it on the controller to get an in-world model to assist building * You may want to look up the Piston Boots in NEI * btw, the way storage drawers hides icons is for performance reason since drawing icons can be very resource intensive I believe the range at which icons draw can be changed in the config file though * Regarding flux - make sure you're keeping backups if you don't want your base to be eaten :)
I love the series :D It will be such a long one and a grind to dwarf all others but it is cool. Sadly there are no new GTNH Modpacks on a modern Minecraft version as far as I know.
If you learn enough metal duplications you can create 1 steel nugget using 1 iron nugget and 1 chiseled stone bricks, although it leaves behind a terra, which can produce flux if unmanaged. It could be a much faster way to get steel.
29:39 the time needed to get steel made me subconsciously want to use cheat engine to speed up the game xD Or use dedicated server for long term production or sth
you can also eat brains or brain jerky to get thaumcraft points, but its still good idea to keep your sword. Also brain jerky is better for your health
Though you may not be able to eat a stack of XP berries at a time by sneaking yet, you might still be able to eat them a lot faster. If you switch your interact hotkey from right click to a key on your keyboard and hold that key down, you use things way faster than by holding right click.
all the human flesh you have eaten has warped you (warp is a mechanic with in thaumcraft) and thats whats causing the explosions noises and will cont to do more things to you like give you debuffs and make you see and hear things.
Just a piece of advice, excess flux in your world is bad. Specifically, if you aren’t careful in thaumcraft and do too much stuff in one chunk, it will create a flux rift: a literal tear in space that is really frustrating to deal with. In other words, you need a thaumometer and to avoid doing excessive spells in one chunk unless you have made it far enough to deal with the flux rifts (they can be really useful later down the line, but initially I wouldn’t mess with them) I personally accidentally made a flux rift once, it was infuriating to try and fix, and most stuff like flux sponges and stuff was just not helping (albeit it was a different version of thaumcraft with different recipes, the thermometer usually isn’t that hard to craft)
Assuming you make it far enough, when do you plan to quit since its impossible to get stargate? Devs have already states they wont add recipe support for challenge runs, so its not a good idea to bet on that hope
Can't get Stargate in GoG due to no way to get Chaos Shard as well as some EoH planets, and devs have already stated they won't add recipe support for GoG runs.

@@isadora-6th villager trades have very limited rate
Yeah, you need a lot more steel furnaces. 4 is a minimum, 8 would be better (though time is an illusion in GoG)
