I honestly think that if they just made the ending where Rey dies and Ben lives it would've made the movie a whole lot better. Rey fulfills her destiny by ending the Palpatine bloodline and Ben fulfills his by living on as a reformed person.
Snoke's narration that Kylo has killed his true enemy, cutting straight to Ben throwing Kylo's lightsaber is so good. His true enemy really was himself :'( Really strong editing choice.
Also ,Rey's true enemy was herself. She is afraid of herself ,and that's her answer to Luke. The revelation of her true lineage was the most horrific thing she could hear. I think that in TROS darkness rises in Rey and light rises in Ben ,to meet that darkness.

Like it did ok, but im reminded of Zuko's character arc. The final movie shouldve been this huge and i mean HUGE scene for scene battle for Kylo and Rey's battle of light/dark side alignement. And in my opinion kylo shouldnt have died....his blood IS skywalker. He IS the continuation of the chosen one. Palpatine should've died killing Palpatine not only ending the bloodline but also finalizing its legacy in the light at the end. I think it would've been more powerful for both characters as well as the imoact on the audience.
In the end, he really did what Vader never could... He gave up his life and power, to save the woman he loved... This character deserved so much more...
Anakin gave up his life, his soul to the dark side. Ben was already torn between but I’d say the love the between anakin and padme felt stronger than Rey and kylo.

Kylo Ren's design and Adam Driver's performance completely carried the trilogy; he was the only thing that wasn't drop dead boring about it. No one else could have done it.
Before this I though Kylo was just a “good villain” After this I see that he was carrying the whole darn trilogy. You’ve show that Kylo has more character than everyone else in the trilogy.
"He ignites it. And kills his true enemy." Instead he throws it away. "Let the past die. Kill it, if you have too." Kills Snoke. "It's the only way you can become what you're meant to be." the amount of chills and symbolism that had wow.
Funny how he was initially so hated due to his silly lightsaber, childish nature but then kylo Ren became the most awesome character in the sequel trilogy.
His light saber is unique, I really appreciate the lore behind it. And I wouldn't call anger (one the the fuels of the dark side) management issues a "childish behavior".
@Nekaita Luke felt darkness in him, so he tried to kill him in his sleep, and that's where he was hatred towards the jedi started. Also, he's the grandson of darth vader, so he feels obligated to follow the path of darth vader
This guy was literally the ONLY reason I bothered to watch the final film. I invested in his character, I cared about him, I was rooting for him and while his ending pissed me off a little I was happy he found resolution and happiness in the end.
Ben Solo is hands down my favourite fictional ever. He deserved so much better. Kylo Ren was a product of all the trauma he had to endure. Great editing.

Explain why? This is the end of the Skywalker saga and therefore Star Wars will most likely take a different direction. I think they did all they wanted to with Kylo and tbh I think people like him more knowing he gave his own life for a good purpose

I feel like it was a redemption for what anakin couldnt do. Save Padme. I feel like they wanted to pull some shit where Kylo was more powerful than Vader by doing the one thing that Vader never could, and when vader tried to he wanted both him and Padme alive, but Kylo sacrificed himself for Rey which makes him so much stronger than Vader and also showed how he managed to turn from light to dark to back to light which also made him stronger.
Well, they completely destroyed his arc and character in the last movie. They should have killed him at the begining before he became a joke and an incredible bad written soulless character to just drive the mary sue love interest plot, the han solo cameo enabler, and the tiny little hurdle for mary sue which really wasn't even a hurdle. At the end of the Movie his character was unredeemable destroyed for me, so killing him should make sure they don't butcher that character anymore in the future. I partially liked his character in the TFA movie though. With his mask on he was a fearsome, intimidating, strong, raging and emotionaly unstable character which i could imagine as great antagonist. Without it he was a whiny 10 year old kid, which got ridiculed by mary sue which portrait him as insanely weak compared to how he was portrait at the start of the movie. And the longer his Story progressed the more he became a Plot device with sudden character/emotional changes to drive the plot where it has to end. I guess without Mary sue his Character might have been interesting. He was Emotionaly split and could have a lot of similarities to anakins struggle. sad he had to be ridiculed and formed into mary sues plot device.
He was the star of the show. Rey was a good character but the rest of them were average at best. Poe and the stormtrooper were so cheesy, really took away the darkness and depth Kylo Ren brought to the movies....

Kylo Ren managed to do what Vader could not, bring someone back to life. The sequels may have sucked, but it’s the little things, that you don’t realize until later, that make you tear up.
I liked the potential of the first one, was dismayed by the second, and never even bothered to watch the whole third one. But Kylo is def the best character they had, hes the only one with a good arc. I am happy the fanfic community saw the potential of the first film because that is were all the good stuff was even with its probs
Joshua Basile They wasted Finn, Kylo felt like a secondary character in his own story, and they ruined Luke. They really could have done better. The characters were awesome, but the writing of it all was not great.
I hear you. However, the first and second trilogies largely followed a male protagonist. It was really something special to see a female in that role. That being said Adam Driver did an incredible job of moving the story forward. It speaks of what an incredible actor he is despite the lack of very good story lines or conversational words spoken. So given where we were coming from I think it played out the best way possible. I just wish we didn’t have the movie before this one- Rogue One. That felt like a gigantic waste of time. I would have preferred a side story of Kylo Ren & Rey the early years. Then I would have had a deeper sense of their character development. On the whole the latest trilogy lacks story development. Too many pieces going in many different directions. It’s like only going a inch deep a mile wide.

Kylo is the only character in this sequel trilogy that I actually like. He’s so interesting and complex, well acted by Adam driver, he had everything he needed to be good, but he was caught up in a story that went nowhere and surrounded by characters that were far less interesting. It’s a shame because they almost had it, both TFA and TLJ did him and the story good then TROS came along and screwed it all up
@@seanfernandes3979 the other two also had faults. But they had redeeming qualities. Even if TFA was unoriginal with things left unexplained, it was entertaining and had characters with good potential. TLJ wasted the potential with Finn, Phasma, Rey and the new characters and Canto bight were dull. But it did a great job with Luke and Kylo, had nice themes and felt like it actually told a new story.
Despite its flaws, I liked TLJ's portrayal of Kylo/Ben. My favorite part was him not firing his mother's ship, I had been anticipating that scene since the trailer. A shame we never had a scene between the mother and son.
The odds of this being better than the Disney trilogy is pretty high. And that’s just me looking at the banner. Can’t wait to see it over and over again! Edit: yea that was by far better than most of the entire Disney trilogy. Fantastic job m8 can’t wait to see what you show us next.

This video helped me to realise Kylo Ren lived a life exactly like Anakin. He had the fear of power like Anakin's goal to be the most powerful Jedi ever. He got betrayed by his master like council didn't trust Anakin. He lived as dark and died as light and he sacrificed him for balance. Excellent work keep it up!

While Rey went on a journey to find out what the force was and who her parents were, Ben went on a journey to find himself, in life a lot a people go through that, and Adam Driver delivered that perfectly, from going from a boy who was wanting to become the best, to a man wanting to just say he’s sorry for the things he had done.
Absolutly agree with you that kylo is one of the best things that has ever happened to this franchise, it's inexplicably attractive, his character, his arc, his actor, He is just portrayed so fantastically, if the sequels did even one thing right, it was this.
It was such a stupid decision from Disney to kill him off. He's the money maker from the sequel trilogy. They could have done SO MUCH with him. Imagine a Disney+ series or a movie with him and Rey.

But what we do know is that they tried a redemption arc with Ben and while it was somewhat good, it was incomplete and in another perspective, overdone. It’s also admitted that Ben wasn’t even suppose to die and it was an addition added in the development of the final movie. This is Star Wars so you should always expect a good ending for the main character as it pushes its traditional message of hope

Second, the redemption of Vador was decided during ROTJ without any introduction in the previous movies so.. I prefer Ben's redemption. Second, Rey becomes a Skywalker because all his life changed by the force and she's the legacy of the bloodline. Ben had to die. The Skywalker saga starts with the born of Anakin and finished with the death of all the Skywalker bloodline. It's logic
This video stirred more emotion in me than the whole sequel trilogy ever could. I couldn't look away. Everything was so flawlessly executed. The voice over,s the silence, the flashbacks, everything. Absolutely incredible. I found myself crying at the end , but it was so cathartic, like I had been holding it in since December, like my love had come full circle, and I finally realized how important this character was to me. Couldn't agree more! I work in video editing and this was SURGICALLY precise with every cut and voiceover. I'm so impressed with the way this creator put together such a cohesive story arc for Ben, especially using clips out of order to tell the tale. Even using quotes in the opposite context to add depth - UGH! The feels!
Kylo Ren has got to be one of the most tortured villains iv'e ever seen. I have never felt compassion for other character villains...even if the plot arranges it that way. The story of Kylo/Ben Solo successfully pulled off a complicated character with a tortured past...with even a convincing love story.
I consider myself a big critic of the newest trilogy but this was beautifully done. It really shows you what a great character Kylo Ren/Ben Solo was. His fall, his darkness, his rise, his redemption. You did an incredible job!

This honestly deserves an Oscar or something at this point....all I know is no matter how many times I watch this it always brings me to tears. The best tribute I've ever seen in my life and probably ever will be. The emotions and storyline this captured is flawless.

@@lamaosama9342 if you are refering to anakins redemption by saving luke, the act was still committed and the sentiment is still there along with the completion of a character arc. Also palpatine took a while to return so the universe was palpatine free for quite some time.
Ben solo really proves that everyone has their own experiences and trials they have to go through, the pain he feels you can actually feel it if you put yourself in his shoes.

This is really well done, great job, great editing, the split second cuts at around 3:20, where Han says “hey kid”, and it does the quick cuts about him killing Han, there’s chewie, leia, etc, very well done.

I am gonna be honest here, I was pretty happy to see all these sequel movies when they were released. And yes, that includes Rise of Skywalker. But sadly, I let negative thoughts from other people influence my opinion. And yes, I don't really love them as much as I did when I first saw them, but I do appreciate they at least got one thing right, and that's with Adam Driver as Kylo Ren. He is no Darth Vader, at least in my opinion but he does bring his own weight and struggle into this trilogy which...let's be honest, really needed him, and this beautiful video perfectly captures that. Feel free to disagree, but I won't like to argue because at the end of the day, they are just movies, and I enjoy them maybe not as a "critic" but I do as a Star Wars fan. Why didn't Disney make the music for his trilogy as epic as this video? Obviously, they wanted something politically correct. And the result was somewhat mediocre interesting and good.

Thank-you for this! I always thought the sequel trilogy should've focused on Adam Driver rather than Daisy, not to sat Daisy was bad but Kylo's character is so much more interesting. It would've been refreshing to see the full journey of a dark side user conflicting with the light side rather than the same story we've seen before.
It’s sad to see that 6 out of 10 comments in the entire section have the obsessive urge to mention “sequels bad”, instead of just appreciating and compliment the video. I really feel bad that they didn’t had their own criteria to enjoy this film as just fans, sadly they prefer to base their opinions on mere hatred, mostly because is popular. I find that kind of ironic, because it’s the complete opposite of the beautiful values that this franchise has always been about, but I guess they never really cared about it, just about the war. This guy was literally the ONLY reason I bothered to watch the final film. I invested in his character, I cared about him, I was rooting for him and while his ending pissed me off a little I was happy he found resolution and happiness in the end.

I feel like it was a redemption for what anakin couldnt do. Save Padme. I feel like they wanted to pull some shit where Kylo was more powerful than Vader by doing the one thing that Vader never could, and when vader tried to he wanted both him and Padme alive, but Kylo sacrificed himself for Rey which makes him so much stronger than Vader and also showed how he managed to turn from light to dark to back to light which also made him stronger.
Well, they completely destroyed his arc and character in the last movie. They should have killed him at the begining before he became a joke and an incredible bad written soulless character to just drive the mary sue love interest plot, the han solo cameo enabler, and the tiny little hurdle for mary sue which really wasn't even a hurdle. At the end of the Movie his character was unredeemable destroyed for me, so killing him should make sure they don't butcher that character anymore in the future.
I partially liked his character in the TFA movie though. With his mask on he was a fearsome, intimidating, strong, raging and emotionaly unstable character which i could imagine as great antagonist. Without it he was a whiny 10 year old kid, which got ridiculed by mary sue which portrait him as insanely weak compared to how he was portrait at the start of the movie. And the longer his Story progressed the more he became a Plot device with sudden character/emotional changes to drive the plot where it has to end. I guess without Mary sue his Character might have been interesting. He was Emotionaly split and could have a lot of similarities to anakins struggle. sad he had to be ridiculed and formed into mary sues plot device.
Kylo needed way much more screen time. He was the best character in the trilogy.

Kylo Ren managed to do what Vader could not, bring someone back to life. The sequels may have sucked, but it’s the little things, that you don’t realize until later, that make you tear up.

I hear you. However, the first and second trilogies largely followed a male protagonist. It was really something special to see a female in that role. That being said Adam Driver did an incredible job of moving the story forward. It speaks of what an incredible actor he is despite the lack of very good story lines or conversational words spoken. So given where we were coming from I think it played out the best way possible. I just wish we didn’t have the movie before this one- Rogue One. That felt like a gigantic waste of time. I would have preferred a side story of Kylo Ren & Rey the early years. Then I would have had a deeper sense of their character development. On the whole the latest trilogy lacks story development. Too many pieces going in many different directions. It’s like only going a inch deep a mile wide.

Kylo is the only character in this sequel trilogy that I actually like. He’s so interesting and complex, well acted by Adam driver, he had everything he needed to be good, but he was caught up in a story that went nowhere and surrounded by characters that were far less interesting. It’s a shame because they almost had it, both TFA and TLJ did him and the story good then TROS came along and screwed it all up

Even if TFA was unoriginal with things left unexplained, it was entertaining and had characters with good potential. TLJ wasted the potential with Finn, Phasma, Rey and the new characters and Canto bight were dull. But it did a great job with Luke and Kylo, had nice themes and felt like it actually told a new story.
Despite its flaws, I liked TLJ's portrayal of Kylo/Ben. My favorite part was him not firing his mother's ship, I had been anticipating that scene since the trailer. A shame we never had a scene between the mother and son.

This video helped me to realise Kylo Ren lived a life exactly like Anakin. He had the fear of power like Anakin's goal to be the most powerful Jedi ever. He got betrayed by his master like council didn't trust Anakin. He lived as dark and died as light and he sacrificed him for balance. Excellent work keep it up!

While Rey went on a journey to find out what the force was and who her parents were, Ben went on a journey to find himself, in life a lot a people go through that, and Adam Driver delivered that perfectly, from going from a boy who was wanting to become the best, to a man wanting to just say he’s sorry for the things he had done.
Absolutly agree with you that kylo is one of the best things that has ever happened to this franchise, it's inexplicably attractive, his character, his arc, his actor, He is just portrayed so fantastically, if the sequels did even one thing right, it was this.

But what we do know is that they tried a redemption arc with Ben and while it was somewhat good, it was incomplete and in another perspective, overdone. It’s also admitted that Ben wasn’t even suppose to die and it was an addition added in the development of the final movie. This is Star Wars so you should always expect a good ending for the main character as it pushes its traditional message of hope

Second, the redemption of Vador was decided during ROTJ without any introduction in the previous movies so.. I prefer Ben's redemption. Second, Rey becomes a Skywalker because all his life changed by the force and she's the legacy of the bloodline. Ben had to die. The Skywalker saga starts with the born of Anakin and finished with the death of all the Skywalker bloodline. It's logic
This video stirred more emotion in me than the whole sequel trilogy ever could. I couldn't look away. Everything was so flawlessly executed. The voice over,s the silence, the flashbacks, everything. Absolutely incredible. I found myself crying at the end , but it was so cathartic, like I had been holding it in since December, like my love had come full circle, and I finally realized how important this character was to me. It was perfect and so very needed. Thank you for this 💖
Couldn't agree more! I work in video editing and this was SURGICALLY precise with every cut and voiceover. I'm so impressed with the way this creator put together such a cohesive story arc for Ben, especially using clips out of order to tell the tale. Even using quotes in the opposite context to add depth - UGH! The feels!
Kylo Ren has got to be one of the most tortured villains iv'e ever seen. I have never felt compassion for other character villains...even if the plot arranges it that way. The story of Kylo/Ben Solo successfully pulled off a complicated character with a tortured past...with even a convincing love story.
I consider myself a big critic of the newest trilogy but this was beautifully done. It really shows you what a great character Kylo Ren/Ben Solo was. His fall, his darkness, his rise, his redemption. You did an incredible job!
Loved Adam Driver as Kylo, his back must of been hurting carrying the three films.

People give the new trilogy too much hate. I thought ren's character development was well executed. It could have been better but its atleast a watch for that.

Kylo Ren is good. Everything is extremely bad. I wouldnt have had such a problem if they didnt bring back palpatine bacause with that they basically destroyed episode 1-6 basically Star Wars
@@lamaosama9342 if you are refering to anakins redemption by saving luke, the act was still committed and the sentiment is still there along with the completion of a character arc. Also palpatine took a while to return so the universe was palpatine free for quite some time.

I loved how Kylo evolved as a character, started as we all would asume an emo kid who was trying to be darth vader but Will turn into the exact thing Anakin didn’t, he made the right choice.

This is really well done, great job, great editing, the split second cuts at around 3:20, where Han says “hey kid”, and it does the quick cuts about him killing Han, there’s chewie, leia, etc, very well done.
This video was quite fascinating! It literally felt more like a trailer for a movie based on Kylo Ren, tbh the trilogy should've been about him and then ended with him surviving.
I am gonna be honest here, I was pretty happy to see all these sequel movies when they were released. And yes, that includes Rise of Skywalker. But sadly, I let negative thoughts from other people influence my opinion. And yes, I don't really love them as much as I did when I first saw them, but I do appreciate they at least got one thing right, and that's with Adam Driver as Kylo Ren. He is no Darth Vader, at least in my opinion but he does bring his own weight and struggle into this trilogy which...let's be honest, really needed him, and this beautiful video perfectly captures that. Feel free to disagree, but I won't like to argue because at the end of the day, they are just movies, and I enjoy them maybe not as a "critic" but I do as a Star Wars fan. Besides that, I really love your video! Keep up the amazing work! 11/10 as usual ^^

Why didn't Disney make the music for his trilogy as epic as this video? Obviously, they wanted something politically correct. And the result was somewhat mediocre interesting and good.

Amazing character complex and well written he is so much better than the rest of the sequel characters it's not even close. Kylo Ren story arc is the one thing I absolutely love about the sequels and the acting performance from Adam Driver was incredible.❤
Mazda Kanatas line towards the end, how you applied it to Kylo Ren/ Ben - "Dear child. I see your eyes. You already know the truth. The light, its always been there." That was such a great combination. Love how you brought two diff elements from two diff movies and shaped it into a singularity with a powerful meaning ❤

I completely agree with you. Ben Solo and his arc is easily my favourite part about the sequel trilogy.
Anytime some idiot says that the sequel trilogy sucks, show them this masterpiece of a video to show them why it absolutely rocks.
Thank-you for this! I always thought the sequel trilogy should've focused on Adam Driver rather than Daisy, not to sat Daisy was bad but Kylo's character is so much more interesting. It would've been refreshing to see the full journey of a dark side user conflicting with the light side rather than the same story we've seen before.
It’s sad to see that 6 out of 10 comments in the entire section have the obsessive urge to mention “sequels bad”, instead of just appreciating and compliment the video. I really feel bad that they didn’t had their own criteria to enjoy this film as just fans, sadly they prefer to base their opinions on mere hatred, mostly because is popular. I find that kind of ironic, because it’s the complete opposite of the beautiful values that this franchise has always been about, but I guess they never really cared about it, just about the war. Those aren’t fans, those are just people who disgracefully missed the point of Star Wars. Now that being said, great video! Amazing and groundbreaking as always, keep the spark lightning 🙌
