I just don't understand why the writers couldn't have just let us have this. Padme and Anakin were so in love, yet Anakin turned to the dark side in an attempt to save her life - a very, very unhappy ending. And in the end, Anakin only redeemed himself minutes before his death. Leia and Han didn't work out, and Han died without seeing Luke one last time, while Leia died a short while after reuniting with her brother. But she never got to make things right with her son. Now, we have Rey and Ben. Ben died after coming to Rey's rescue. But why? Couldn't he just have lived? Why did he have to die right after showing that there was still good in him? I get that not every story has a happy ending. But I _also_ don't see why Ben couldn't have just lived.
Because the last movie was trying to appease everyone and make as much money for Disney as possible and as such, was a rushed and poorly written mess. Bringing back Palpatine was stupid. I'd much prefer it if Rey had stayed as nobody and it reinforces that you don't have to be from some famous powerful family to be chosen by the Force. Plus they didn't even really explain how he survived or returned without you having to buy more Disney stuff for the comics or books etc that tell the story. Rubbish!! I'm glad Ben was redeemed and the scene with Han was great, even if the parallels and dialogue to the bridge seen in TFA were perhaps a little too strong. I'm annoyed though that he died but moreso that redeemed Ben didn't even have any lines that whole time on Exogol! It was nice to see them both standing side by side wielding blue lightsabers. I wish we'd gotten to see him in something other than black clothes for once too to really represent his shift back towards the light.
Yes but that’s the beauty of Star Wars. As we all know the main theme is about balancing light and dark, good and bad. The fact that he goes from being on the dark side to the light side (redemption) and then dies is just so truthful. Sometimes you have to make the hard sacrifices in order to do the right thing.
Anakin and Padme the way it was written in the movie was kind of naaah. He was 9 and she was 15 when they first meet. When he’s finally 18 she’s 23. 😳🤭 Either George Lucas should have aged Anakin up some years or had it so that after Phantom Menace Anakin & Padme had no contact with each other (him training & her ruling) THEN meet when he’s 18 & she’s 23. That would have made more sense to me and not seem icky when I really think about it. But he didn’t and now just nah.
Sophie Sings thank you Sophie for being right on. thank you lilac for bringing this to a clip we can all understand and feel and be reminded of. choosing the good of the other than only yourself, choosing the light the hope the gentleness the contentment the sacrifice even if its so hard and painful everytime. moreso of the love story I love Ben Solo's character and story of redemption here where he chooses love (as the Sith seethes everytime he does something bad and they can feel his soul tears at him) and be goood , we can all relate as humans with both the dark and light in us.
Does anyone else just love the way he doesn't stop hunting her through the entire movie? I loved their scenes together. His voice when he speaks to her was pretty hot. Their intensity was off the charts.
His pursuit of her works in this film because there's another reason for it (he needs her to rule). But I did like the fact how he subtlety lets her know he loves her without turning himself into her adoring puppy.
We had a look at the potential of what Ben Solo could of been, what he could of had with Rey- who never felt whole her entire life... and they snatched it away in a matter of minutes. Monsters.
ShannonSMD I thought it ended well. Rey saved Ben’s life and he saved hers bringing her back from death itself. Remember that she was a Palpatine, who evil and crimes made Vader look good. So it fit, really, that she should save everyone from horror he represented. Ben gave his life to save hers, thus paying for his crimes. I really like Rey as a character and hope she will stay in the series. I’ve been a Star Wars fan since the first night it came to my town, before the sleeper status and people lining up around the block to see it. I’ve read most of the books until real life took over. I even had plans for the Falcon, for God’s sake! We’re not in charge here, though. It’ll be interesting to see where it goes now.
@@jokybones Oh yeah did Vader hear voices in his head since he was a toddler telling him he should kill his family? Ben's whole personality was shaped by his horrible upbringing. Vader is tragic in his own way but was mostly paying the ultimate price for his choice, but Ben had no choice, he was raised to become a monster.

You all forgot or don't understand. They not only loved each other from the first but they were soul mates. In the force they were made equal for each one. Both being neither dark nor light. Unlike the other jedi they could choose to go back and forth. They were both neutral force as all jedi were before they started taking sides. These two were born to bring back the balance of neutral. When he died he did not really die as the silth do. He died as the jedi do, they turn into peer force. He and her will always be connected through the force forever. Their love is transcendent!
Rey used powers from the Dark Side in her fights (even without knowing she was a Palpatine), sometimes let anger lead her steps and actions. Ben came back from the Dark Side and died like a Jedi (and he doesn't have those specific Sith eyes, like Palpatine, Darth Maul and Anakin)... Yes. They were soul mates. "Grey" Jedi as I red somewhere. The perfect balance between Good and Bad. They were the Balance in the Force we have been told about since The Phantom Menace.
from a writer's perspective, these two thematically make sense as a couple. they are quite literally the reversal of anakin and padme's love story. ben would've done what his grandfather couldn't (which was what his og goal was) by saving the girl he loved AND starting a life together with her. i will never understand how they fumbled the bag this badly, everything was literally set up for them. they just had to be competent writers which ig is too much to ask from a billion-dollar studio.
Kylo Ren wasn't a Sith. He was the Master of the Knights of Ren. Knights of Ren respect the Sith teachings, but they were too chaotic and disorganized which ultimately led to their downfall, even though the Sith were SO powerful for thousands of years. Knights of Ren are newer and at a higher level. They respect the Sith, but they are structured, with strict hierarchy and organization. Kylo is a Ren, not a Sith. Hence Kylo Ren. BONUS FACT: "Ren" just means lightsaber :)

I feel like he loved her much more than she loved him. He didn't know how to deal with it, and it only fueled the fear that led him to the dark side in the first place. The first time she shows any kind of reciprocation (the "I wanted to take your hand"), he manages to gather the courage to do the right thing and follow her into the light; he's so emotionally unstable, it's making me sad. Also, that little nod at 14:58 kills me 😭
I felt the same way, and even more so after reading the novelization. But the way I interpret it is that Kylo/Ben is in love with Rey, he’s always liked her from the beginning, because Rey’s always been kind and understanding, and she showed him kindness and support like no one else. Rey on the other hand only knew Kylo Ren. She believed in him and his redemption, but she never got the chance to really get to know Ben, because once he turned and saved her life, he died.

He literally sacrifices himself for her and dies, but then she goes on and forgets him just like that, not giving a damn about his sacrifice or him overall, because she never really knew that he was capable of being someone she could truly love. 100% Ben loved Rey more. Kylo/ Ben loved Rey for who she was no matter what side she fell on. Dark or Light. Scavenger or Jedi. Rey only loved Ben. Kylo/ Ben never wanted to kill Rey, all those moves were defence or to see how strong she is. Rey wanted to hurt Kylo. At the end of episode 7, Kylo has Rey on the edge he can easily win, but he did not want to truly hurt her
If only their story could have continued. It was love at first sight for Ben when he saw Rey. Imagine their future together (wedding, children, training the next generation, etc).
We all felt there was something between them even they didn’t say anything to each other (edit: in the movie not in real life, don’t want to imply something). Ending was frustrating but had to move on.. not all stories are meant to have happy endings, not for all characters atleast. Great actors, great chemistry on screen. I wouldn’t say he’s madly in love with his wife. Most of the recent awards ceremonies he attended had him leaving her in the dust. It seems they pose for the cameras, but it’s a different story outside of the limelight. I just see a divorce coming in the future... he doesn’t seem happy unfortunately. They’ve even had fights in public, such as the Golden Globes and the premiere for the rise of skywalker. If you have a fight in public, not privately, they must be miserable and fed up with each other. I also feel he looks at Daisy with more love and admiration than his wife at times... anyway that’s my opinion.

I love that. I love the realization that Kylo did succeed in finishing what his grandfather started. It was never about becoming like Vader. It was about redemption. Like Anakin, Kylo sacrificed himself in the very end for someone he loved. He chose the light. It was for the love of his parents, and for Rey. Ugh my heart. This was absolutely beautifully done!!!

Damn right. And that is beside the fact they barely scratched the surface of Ben Solo's potential as a character anyway. They completely wasted the whole Supreme Leader thing and they didn't use the force bond well either, squandering it on (weak) fightscenes and clunky exposition on the inane, boring Palpatine plot, when they instead should have used it to properly develop the characters in much greater depth and deepen the dynamic between them. But all that faults would forgivable if they had not killed of Ben right when he finally was becoming his own man and breaking out of the lazy, uninspired Vader rehash mold TROS forced him back into. The damn trilogy should have been just the origin story of Ben Solo, antihero, followed by the proper adventures of Ben and Rey (in comics, novels, whatever). The only way for anything truly worthwhile to come out of the entire era, even now.
He really did finish what his grandfather started. Protected and saved his loved one. He really did love her, though it might not have been the lovey dovey time. She reminded him what it was like to be Ben Solo: to be a real Jedi, to feel love, to really connect with someone. She gave him the courage and strength to become Ben Solo again. What he felt when he saved her life was love: elated to be able to feel love and care again and joy and relief in the fact that she's ok. Pure love for someone other than himself and his family.
Lovely vid! Kylo/Ben and Reylo made the ST for me. I actually love how their story went, though I get why a lot of people are upset. Anakin fell to the Dark Side partly because of his romantic love for Padme, and failed to save her from death. Kylo rose to the Light Side partly because of his romantic love for Rey, and succeeded where his grandfather failed: he saved the woman he loved. He really did finish what Vader started, and that's beautiful, and so is this vid. ❤
I saw a lot of comments about why rey and Ben couldn't stsy togther and have the happy ending. First as a writer myself I know star crossed love has far more passion and investment for an audience because of each characters desperation to be together against the odds. It had much more effect for us that Ben sacrifices himself to save the women he loves. If you can't die for live what is worth dying for?? For me, that dyannamic was so much more powerful and left me on tears. Epic love story across the stars. Beautifully written when they are at cross purposes. Although not romantic but devastatingly heartbreaking was the story of obi Wan and annikens betrayal when obi Wan recognizes his duty to kill a man he known for year, fought side by side, loved like a brother and it tear him apart and us too. He was the chosen one, Ani was destined to restore the republic not destroy it and obi reminds him of that as Ani lay there burning t o death. Anikken Skywalker was hero to the people,a loyal member of the jedi. But he threw it all away to save the woman he loved because he foolishly believed turning to the dark side would prevent patame from dying, but it was that very act that sealed her fate. I think we needed to really feel all that pain in annikins life to understand how a loyal, good man who fought against the empire could turn dark. Losing his mother and then run the risk of losing the woman he loved... he felt it was his only choice. A wonderful conflict and he shows that despite pledging his life and loyal to his master the chancellor, he wouldn't not sacrifice luke , his son

Why I’m not sad about Ben’s death: he disappeared so there’s a fair chance he’s a force ghost which means he can by some accounts still be with rey. What does that mean? Well. We saw that force ghosts can hold and interact with physical objects, what else can they do? If they can hold objects why not people? I mean it’s not everything we wanted but they can still be together
...Or he’s in the World Between Worlds and Rey will eventually find a way to get him back. Then together, they will start a new order of GRAY jedis, neither light nor dark but BOTH so finally, there will be balance in the force. Then, if i have my way, they’ll pop out a few dark-haired, big-eared children and they will live happily-ever-after. 😬🙏
@@midnytblossom102 This will probably happen. It's why he wasn't a force ghost at the end. The character is a cash cow for Disney. They let him die to not feed controversy/wrong message so he was in fact properly punished for his misdeeds as Ren. And he can be brought back. Hopefully in a comic book/animated feature. But I would really like it if they brought back the actors in a film 5-15 years from now. Let it be a civil war . Where Rey and Ben have to fight them of. And maybe end up taking the throne.....after all.
I love this video. It shows the bond between Rey and Ben Solo. They battled together, hiding their feelings for each other, but their actions spoke different. Their eyes were the mirrors into each other souls. He no longer wanted to be Kylo Ren. But Ben Solo. He gave up his life to save Rey. Now that's LOVE. I was so elated when she made him smile in his final moments. Such a beautiful smile he had. I was broken-hearted when he died in her arms. Wishing they would have had a chance together. Adam Driver and Daisy Ridley had a beautiful chemistry together. That's why I loved this movie from beginning to end. ❤️❤️🙏😊😊

I can’t believe it. I had dreamed of a love story like this for so many years. And to see it come to life before my eyes was just so amazing. The fighting scenes could’ve been more intense but whatever, I’ll take what I can get.
Why every Star Wars love story has to be tragic (╥﹏╥) : Anakin x Padmé, Leia x Han, Rey x Ben 💔 Leia dies: force ghost Han dies: gone Anakin dies: force ghost Padmé dies: gone Ben dies: disappears and no one tells us anything (in the movie) Rey: is left alone just like how she started 💔 Rey is alive, Anakin and Leia "are still alive", they can appear like force ghosts but their loved ones are gone forever and I can't live with that :'( I'm crying Edit: OMG thx for the likes😂

Ben Solo is totally not dead. He died in the World between Worlds, meaning he became one with the force. All that Rey has to do is channel the force and bring him back to life. It’s been done before!

Thank you for this beautiful edit! I thought this would be a nice place to share my observations of why Reylo has always been canon (although I didn't see it myself until TLJ): I believe it started with Rey's Force vision of Kylo and the Knights of Ren. Kylo could obviously see Rey (because he turned his head and stepped towards her), but for him that moment was in the past and he must have been wondering about her for a while before the events in the movie. That's why Kylo asked "What girl?" when he was told about BB-8's escape. So at first Kylo was intrigued by this mysterious girl who appeared out of nowhere and disappeared again just as quickly. When Kylo actually met Rey, he looked her up and down and recognized her, so he took her with him (carrying her like a bride) and stayed with her (kneeling in front of her) until she woke up. He was very polite to her and took off his helmet to make her feel more comfortable. He only probed her mind after she refused to cooperate. But he was quite gentle with her compared to how brutal he was with Poe. When Rey turned out to be Force-sensitive, Kylo only grew more interested in her and offered to become her teacher. Snoke tried to humiliate Kylo about being bested by a girl, but Kylo never held it against Rey. When they started having Force bonds, Kylo was curious about the technicalities of that while Rey shot at him and called him names. After a while, Kylo and Rey developed a mutual understanding because neither of them really had anyone else to open up to. When Kylo and Rey touched hands, they saw themselves fighting on the same side. Therefore both of them concluded that the other would turn to the other side, and both of them thought this prospect was appealing. (Because... hormones!) When Snoke tortured Rey and ordered Kylo to kill her, Kylo realized that Snoke wasn't interested in turning Rey, so he decided to kill Snoke instead. (Snoke underestimated the power of hormones!) Kylo was very disappointed and angry after Rey went for the lightsaber instead of accepting his hand. Although Kylo told Luke he would destroy Rey, he looked at her with puppy dog eyes when she closed the door on him, so in reality, he still wanted to be with her. Throughout TROS, Kylo made it clear to Rey that he still wanted her to join him on the Dark Side. After Rey stabbed Kylo and healed him, she told him she wanted to be with Ben, not Kylo. Kylo realized Rey would never turn to the Dark Side, so if he wanted to be with her, he could only do so as Ben Solo. In the end, it was enough for Ben to know that Rey loved him in return, that's why he smiled after she kissed him (probably for the first time in many years) and he went in peace.
I know he tortured Poe, and murdered Han, and killed civilians, and massacred his classmates, and tried to murder his uncle, and is technically a war criminal, but he and Rey are just so cute together. 💖

Leia sad to H. solo "Bring him home" and it was so beautiful to see how Leia, Rey and how his dad pulled him to the light side.... it would be amazing to see how Rey would travel to the world between worlds in order to bring Ben back home.... perhaps too Tatooine- the planet, where Rey, Luke, Anakin grow up- it would be so amazing to see them having little Jedi, be finally happy and fight against the dark side. Omg that was amazing! Man, this takes me all the way back to 2015. I’m so proud for Ben he succeeded to save Rey the woman he loves. Plus he has compassion and love like his grandfather it replaced the hate and anger that he had inside him. Ben on 8 he wanted to help Rey because she’s going through the same path he had losing his parents and he wanted to help her to get her through her pain and the reason he wanted her to join him us because he actually cared for her that’s why he said she is something.On ep 9 Ben almost messed things up almost killed her with his aggression plus he turned to the light because if his father and Rey and leia together they all brought him back. When Ben held her lifeless body he knew he was going to lose everything, his whole family now Rey the person he loved, when Ben touched her abdomen he remembered the part she healed him but now he returned the favor saving her not only giving up his life for her but he’s passing the entire Skywalker legacy to her. That’s why now Rey she’s a skywalker now because she took the name from the man she kissed. Even when Ben was gone she smiled in the ending that means Ben is not gone she knows that one day she will see him again. These two are there reason Im seeing the films again and again.
It's so cute how when Rey got tired during their lightsaber battle on the ruins of the death star, he didn't strike her down, it made my heart happy! Also, have any of you wondered what it would be like if Ben never turned to the dark side? I wonder if reylo would still be a thing.

no one really dies when it comes to the force. ben is still alive, watching rey.
I just don't understand why the writers couldn't have just let us have this. Padme and Anakin were so in love, yet Anakin turned to the dark side in an attempt to save her life - a very, very unhappy ending. And in the end, Anakin only redeemed himself minutes before his death. Leia and Han didn't work out, and Han died without seeing Luke one last time, while Leia died a short while after reuniting with her brother. But she never got to make things right with her son. Now, we have Rey and Ben. Ben died after coming to Rey's rescue. But why?
Couldn't he just have lived? Why did he have to die right after showing that there was still good in him? I get that not every story has a happy ending. But I _also_ don't see why Ben couldn't have just lived.
Because the last movie was trying to appease everyone and make as much money for Disney as possible and as such, was a rushed and poorly written mess. Bringing back Palpatine was stupid. I'd much prefer it if Rey had stayed as nobody and it reinforces that you don't have to be from some famous powerful family to be chosen by the Force. Plus they didn't even really explain how he survived or returned without you having to buy more Disney stuff for the comics or books etc that tell the story. Rubbish!! I'm glad Ben was redeemed and the scene with Han was great, even if the parallels and dialogue to the bridge seen in TFA were perhaps a little too strong. I'm annoyed though that he died but moreso that redeemed Ben didn't even have any lines that whole time on Exogol! It was nice to see them both standing side by side wielding blue lightsabers. I wish we'd gotten to see him in something other than black clothes for once too to really represent his shift back towards the light.
Yes but that’s the beauty of Star Wars. As we all know the main theme is about balancing light and dark, good and bad. The fact that he goes from being on the dark side to the light side (redemption) and then dies is just so truthful. Sometimes you have to make the hard sacrifices in order to do the right thing.
Anakin and Padme the way it was written in the movie was kind of naaah. He was 9 and she was 15 when they first meet. When he’s finally 18 she’s 23. 😳🤭 Either George Lucas should have aged Anakin up some years or had it so that after Phantom Menace Anakin & Padme had no contact with each other (him training & her ruling) THEN meet when he’s 18 & she’s 23. That would have made more sense to me and not seem icky when I really think about it. But he didn’t and now just nah.

We had a look at the potential of what Ben Solo could of been, what he could of had with Rey- who never felt whole her entire life... and they snatched it away in a matter of minutes. Monsters.
ShannonSMD I thought it ended well. Rey saved Ben’s life and he saved hers bringing her back from death itself. Remember that she was a Palpatine, who evil and crimes made Vader look good. So it fit, really, that she should save everyone from horror he represented. Ben gave his life to save hers, thus paying for his crimes. I really like Rey as a character and hope she will stay in the series. I’ve been a Star Wars fan since the first night it came to my town, before the sleeper status and people lining up around the block to see it. I’ve read most of the books until real life took over. I even had plans for the Falcon, for God’s sake! We’re not in charge here, though. It’ll be interesting to see where it goes now.

You all forgot or don't understand. They not only loved each other from the first but they were soul mates. In the force they were made equal for each one. Both being neither dark nor light. Unlike the other jedi they could choose to go back and forth. They were both neutral force as all jedi were before they started taking sides. These two were born to bring back the balance of neutral. When he died he did not really die as the silth do. He died as the jedi do, they turn into peer force. He and her will always be connected through the force forever. Their love is transcendent!

from a writer's perspective, these two thematically make sense as a couple. they are quite literally the reversal of anakin and padme's love story. ben would've done what his grandfather couldn't (which was what his og goal was) by saving the girl he loved AND starting a life together with her. i will never understand how they fumbled the bag this badly, everything was literally set up for them. they just had to be competent writers which ig is too much to ask from a billion-dollar studio.

Kylo Ren wasn't a Sith. He was the Master of the Knights of Ren. Knights of Ren respect the Sith teachings, but they were too chaotic and disorganized which ultimately led to their downfall, even though the Sith were SO powerful for thousands of years. Knights of Ren are newer and at a higher level. They respect the Sith, but they are structured, with strict hierarchy and organization. Kylo is a Ren, not a Sith. Hence Kylo Ren. BONUS FACT: "Ren" just means lightsaber :)

I feel like he loved her much more than she loved him. He didn't know how to deal with it, and it only fueled the fear that led him to the dark side in the first place. The first time she shows any kind of reciprocation (the "I wanted to take your hand"), he manages to gather the courage to do the right thing and follow her into the light; he's so emotionally unstable, it's making me sad.

I felt the same way, and even more so after reading the novelization. But the way I interpret it is that Kylo/Ben is in love with Rey, he’s always liked her from the beginning, because Rey’s always been kind and understanding, and she showed him kindness and support like no one else. Rey on the other hand only knew Kylo Ren. She believed in him and his redemption, but she never got the chance to really get to know Ben, because once he turned and saved her life, he died.

100% Ben loved Rey more. Kylo/ Ben loved Rey for who she was no matter what side she fell on. Dark or Light. Scavenger or Jedi. Rey only loved Ben. Kylo/ Ben never wanted to kill Rey, all those moves were defence or to see how strong she is. Rey wanted to hurt Kylo. At the end of episode 7, Kylo has Rey on the edge he can easily win, but he did not want to truly hurt her

We all felt there was something between them even they didn’t say anything to each other (edit: in the movie not in real life, don’t want to imply something). Ending was frustrating but had to move on.. not all stories are meant to have happy endings, not for all characters atleast.

I wouldn’t say he’s madly in love with his wife. Most of the recent awards ceremonies he attended had him leaving her in the dust. It seems they pose for the cameras, but it’s a different story outside of the limelight. I just see a divorce coming in the future... he doesn’t seem happy unfortunately. They’ve even had fights in public, such as the Golden Globes and the premiere for the rise of skywalker. If you have a fight in public, not privately, they must be miserable and fed up with each other. I also feel he looks at Daisy with more love and admiration than his wife at times... anyway that’s my opinion.

I love that. I love the realization that Kylo did succeed in finishing what his grandfather started. It was never about becoming like Vader. It was about redemption. Like Anakin, Kylo sacrificed himself in the very end for someone he loved. He chose the light. It was for the love of his parents, and for Rey. Ugh my heart. This was absolutely beautifully done!!!

Damn right. And that is beside the fact they barely scratched the surface of Ben Solo's potential as a character anyway.
They completely wasted the whole Supreme Leader thing and they didn't use the force bond well either, squandering it on (weak) fightscenes and clunky exposition on the inane, boring Palpatine plot, when they instead should have used it to properly develop the characters in much greater depth and deepen the dynamic between them.
But all that faults would forgivable if they had not killed of Ben right when he finally was becoming his own man and breaking out of the lazy, uninspired Vader rehash mold TROS forced him back into.
The damn trilogy should have been just the origin story of Ben Solo, antihero, followed by the proper adventures of Ben and Rey (in comics, novels, whatever).
The only way for anything truly worthwhile to come out of the entire era, even now.
He really did finish what his grandfather started. Protected and saved his loved one. He really did love her, though it might not have been the lovey dovey time. She reminded him what it was like to be Ben Solo: to be a real Jedi, to feel love, to really connect with someone. She gave him the courage and strength to become Ben Solo again. What he felt when he saved her life was love: elated to be able to feel love and care again and joy and relief in the fact that she's ok.
Pure love for someone other than himself and his family.

Lovely vid! Kylo/Ben and Reylo made the ST for me. I actually love how their story went, though I get why a lot of people are upset.
Anakin fell to the Dark Side partly because of his romantic love for Padme, and failed to save her from death. Kylo rose to the Light Side partly because of his romantic love for Rey, and succeeded where his grandfather failed: he saved the woman he loved.
He really did finish what Vader started, and that's beautiful, and so is this vid. ❤

I saw a lot of comments about why rey and Ben couldn't stsy togther and have the happy ending. First as a writer myself I know star crossed love has far more passion and investment for an audience because of each characters desperation to be together against the odds. It had much more effect for us that Ben sacrifices himself to save the women he loves. If you can't die for live what is worth dying for?? For me, that dyannamic was so much more powerful and left me on tears. Epic love story across the stars. Beautifully written when they are at cross purposes.
Although not romantic but devastatingly heartbreaking was the story of obi Wan and annikens betrayal when obi Wan recognizes his duty to kill a man he known for year, fought side by side, loved like a brother and it tear him apart and us too. He was the chosen one, Ani was destined to restore the republic not destroy it and obi reminds him of that as Ani lay there burning t o death.
Anikken Skywalker was hero to the people,a loyal member of the jedi. But he threw it all away to save the woman he loved because he foolishly believed turning to the dark side would prevent patame from dying, but it was that very act that sealed her fate.
I think we needed to really feel all that pain in annikins life to understand how a loyal, good man who fought against the empire could turn dark. Losing his mother and then run the risk of losing the woman he loved... he felt it was his only choice.
A wonderful conflict and he shows that despite pledging his life and loyal to his master the chancellor, he wouldn't not sacrifice luke , his son

Why I’m not sad about Ben’s death: he disappeared so there’s a fair chance he’s a force ghost which means he can by some accounts still be with rey. What does that mean? Well. We saw that force ghosts can hold and interact with physical objects, what else can they do? If they can hold objects why not people? I mean it’s not everything we wanted but they can still be together

They let him die to not feed controversy/wrong message so he was in fact properly punished for his misdeeds as Ren. And he can be brought back. Hopefully in a comic book/animated feature. But I would really like it if they brought back the actors in a film 5-15 years from now. Let it be a civil war . Where Rey and Ben have to fight them of. And maybe end up taking the throne.....after all.

I love this video. It shows the bond between Rey and Ben Solo. They battled together, hiding their feelings for each other, but their actions spoke different. Their eyes were the mirrors into each other souls. He no longer wanted to be Kylo Ren. But Ben Solo. He gave up his life to save Rey. Now that's LOVE. I was so elated when she made him smile in his final moments. Such a beautiful smile he had. I was broken-hearted when he died in her arms. Wishing they would have had a chance together. Adam Driver and Daisy Ridley had a beautiful chemistry together. That's why I loved this movie from beginning to end. ❤️❤️🙏😊😊

I can’t believe it. I had dreamed of a love story like this for so many years. And to see it come to life before my eyes was just so amazing. The fighting scenes could’ve been more intense but whatever, I’ll take what I can get.

Ben Solo is totally not dead. He died in the World between Worlds, meaning he became one with the force. All that Rey has to do is channel the force and bring him back to life. It’s been done before!
I can’t believe he died in the end. He is my all time favourite character in Star Wars, Rey being 2nd. Perfect duo

I thought this would be a nice place to share my observations of why Reylo has always been canon (although I didn't see it myself until TLJ):
I believe it started with Rey's Force vision of Kylo and the Knights of Ren. Kylo could obviously see Rey (because he turned his head and stepped towards her), but for him that moment was in the past and he must have been wondering about her for a while before the events in the movie. That's why Kylo asked "What girl?" when he was told about BB-8's escape.
So at first Kylo was intrigued by this mysterious girl who appeared out of nowhere and disappeared again just as quickly.
When Kylo actually met Rey, he looked her up and down and recognized her, so he took her with him (carrying her like a bride) and stayed with her (kneeling in front of her) until she woke up. He was very polite to her and took off his helmet to make her feel more comfortable. He only probed her mind after she refused to cooperate. But he was quite gentle with her compared to how brutal he was with Poe.
When Rey turned out to be Force-sensitive, Kylo only grew more interested in her and offered to become her teacher.
Snoke tried to humiliate Kylo about being bested by a girl, but Kylo never held it against Rey.
When they started having Force bonds, Kylo was curious about the technicalities of that while Rey shot at him and called him names.
After a while, Kylo and Rey developed a mutual understanding because neither of them really had anyone else to open up to.
When Kylo and Rey touched hands, they saw themselves fighting on the same side. Therefore both of them concluded that the other would turn to the other side, and both of them thought this prospect was appealing. (Because... hormones!)
When Snoke tortured Rey and ordered Kylo to kill her, Kylo realized that Snoke wasn't interested in turning Rey, so he decided to kill Snoke instead. (Snoke underestimated the power of hormones!)
Kylo was very disappointed and angry after Rey went for the lightsaber instead of accepting his hand. Although Kylo told Luke he would destroy Rey, he looked at her with puppy dog eyes when she closed the door on him, so in reality, he still wanted to be with her.
Throughout TROS, Kylo made it clear to Rey that he still wanted her to join him on the Dark Side.
After Rey stabbed Kylo and healed him, she told him she wanted to be with Ben, not Kylo. Kylo realized Rey would never turn to the Dark Side, so if he wanted to be with her, he could only do so as Ben Solo.
In the end, it was enough for Ben to know that Rey loved him in return, that's why he smiled after she kissed him (probably for the first time in many years) and he went in peace.
I know he tortured Poe, and murdered Han, and killed civilians, and massacred his classmates, and tried to murder his uncle, and is technically a war criminal, but he and Rey are just so cute together. 💖

Leia sad to H. solo "Bring him home" and it was so beautiful to see how Leia, Rey and how his dad pulled him to the light side.... it would be amazing to see how Rey would travel to the world between worlds in order to bring Ben back home.... perhaps too Tatooine- the planet, where Rey, Luke, Anakin grow up- it would be so amazing to see them having little Jedi, be finally happy and fight against the dark side. Rey doesn´t work with our Ben.....Star Wars 10 could be so amazing!!!!!!!!!

Omg that was amazing! Man, this takes me all the way back to 2015. I’m so proud for Ben he succeeded to save Rey the woman he loves. Plus he has compassion and love like his grandfather it replaced the hate and anger that he had inside him. Ben on 8 he wanted to help Rey because she’s going through the same path he had losing his parents and he wanted to help her to get her through her pain and the reason he wanted her to join him us because he actually cared for her that’s why he said she is something.On ep 9 Ben almost messed things up almost killed her with his aggression plus he turned to the light because if his father and Rey and leia together they all brought him back. When Ben held her lifeless body he knew he was going to lose everything, his whole family now Rey the person he loved, when Ben touched her abdomen he remembered the part she healed him but now he returned the favor saving her not only giving up his life for her but he’s passing the entire Skywalker legacy to her. That’s why now Rey she’s a skywalker now because she took the name from the man she kissed. Even when Ben was gone she smiled in the ending that means Ben is not gone she knows that one day she will see him again. These two are there reason Im seeing the films again and again.
In the episode 9 novel, when Ben disappears, Rey heard him said: "I will always be with you, no one's ever really gone".
