The guy was being purposefully confrontational all he had to do is say I'm taking photos because its in a movie and just tell them who you are there's no reason to not tell them.

Here's a reason not to tell them ... this nice police officer in the link shows us why you wouldn't want any more info about yourself being stored. This PC, when he wasn't filming himself wanking in his uniform, and sending it to women on whattsap, was trawling the police databases checking out women from Tinder and Plenty of Fish. He even contacted a woman who he'd checked out and told her that he knew where she lived. Remember that there are numerous 'misuse of systems' charges every year. cheshire.police.uk/media/199632/pc-campbell-misconduct-finding.pdf

I agree. These people go looking for confrontations with the police, presumably because it gives them wood. It’s not hard to understand why the police turn up to see what’s going on. They were perfectly civil, despite the photographer being a total cockwomble. These are the same dozy fucks who will complain the police don’t do enough next time there’s a terrorist incident in London.

    • @Leatherneck-pw3bn

Never trust the police it is their job to arrest, kidnap and imprison people. Their job security depends on it. These cowards choose to hassle a photographer because dealing with real criminal's is dangerous.

Baddriversoz easy to say... to do their job they will always have to ‘waste’ time on non-criminals in your eyes. They don’t have a criminal detector to see who’s a real criminal and who isn’t, that’s why they’re kinda in the job 😂 if you didn’t know, criminals can be very deceptive...

    • @forthfarean

We must not be grateful when armed Constables interfere with our private lawful activity and then graciously decide not to incarcerate us for not breaking the law. This is a lawful activity. The police cannot interfere with lawful activities. If they want the law changed petition the government. The police cannot arbitrarily make innocent behaviour unlawful. The police in Britain are citizens, members of the public ,trusted with some extra powers and rights. They are not allowed to make up law as they go. They are not military ,they are members of the public like anyone else. “A Constable is a citizen. Locally appointed” Sir Richard Maine, first police commissioner.

Although userone may not have the experience of doing the audit he still has the LAWFUL right to be taking photos from a public space. My question between the 2 vids would be why was userone detained, searched under Terrorism Laws and had his image/footage viewed for doing the same actions (photographing/videoing and refusing to answer questions) as Focus, yet Focus had none of this done and they left???

    • @JohnSmith-ze6jm

Difference based on my observation is that userone appeared incoherent, slightly derranged in his mannerisms and often deflecting unintelligently, thus raising red flags. Focus Pocus demonstrates confidence, knowledge, and despite being [purposefully] secretive, he is clear and concise in his approach towards the situation.

Having watched a great many videos where the police are triggered by photography I’ve got to say these two did their job well. Didn’t misrepresent the law when it was clear you knew it, didn’t give you a hard time for your refusal to comply with requests which didn’t carry the weight of a legal obligation -which many coppers will shamefully do. They were also extremely polite friendly and non-confrontational - no mean feat when carrying loaded automatic weapons...which tend to make one intimidating unless you make a conscious effort not to be. They also ultimately left you to it. When watching such videos I often am outraged by the sort of conduct displayed - not here.
IMHO these officers are an absolute credit to the service. Well done Charring Cross police station.

I'm always amazed at the "keep everyone safe" claim, especially by a man with a gun. There is absolutely zero chance of another person keeping you safe, as the state of being safe can never be reached. Being a living human carries with it an ever constant potential of risk. That's why there are handrails, hockey helmets, seatbelts, warning signs etc.

The tunnel goes east to the Royal Infirmary and roughly half way there on the junction of Cathedral/North Hanover street there’s a service lift providing access to the tunnels. So who was the brains behind putting a 'sensitive' building in one of the busiest thoroughfares in the Capital where any individual could attack it or it's occupants with something far more harmful than a camera. It's not uncommon to hold today's politicians or companies such as the BBC accountable for events that happened many years age so perhaps today's architects and decision makes should be held accountable for placement and security of buildings.
