I’m Japanese and I’m surprised that the Vietnamese fans are happy of yesterday’s result. They looked like a very strong side with lot of intensity and high paced tempo. Sure the game itself was one sided but it’s seems to me that they don’t deserve to be in the last place of the group. They had way more team cohesion than the likes of China or Oman. I hope Vietnam and the rest of the south east Asia teams have a bright future ahead of them.
I mean our constant unluckiness cost us at least 3 points I swear (China first leg btw)

6:57 I have a fun small story ab the Philippines womens national team my little sister is a goalkeeper went thru this camp with the womens team held in California for players in the US with Filipino decent and my sister had to miss school to drive north and go to these camps and drive to LA try to get a duel citizenship she did well but eventually being left out of the Asia cup squad but she learned a lot tho so that’s good and met some amazing players

Spent time watching the Japan-Vietnam game yesterday during down time at work (working from home), and it was a solid match from the Vietnamese. Once the game ended, I thought "Ah, Maqwell must be happy with this result."

I have predicted that Vietnam will give Japan a good fight in the last qualifying game. Japan already qualified and Vietnam already out, both teams had little to play for. The World Cup ticket for Asia increases from 4.5 to 8 for 2026. Vietnam finished last of their group and still wouldn’t qualify. But for 2026, target has been set for Vietnam. Be among one of eight qualifying team. Imagine the look on Max’s face when Vietnam plays their World Cup game in the states.

Good luck next time from Saudi Arabia 💚 I honestly don’t know how Herve Renard managed to turn things around for us, we were always a very good team to watch in Asia we played good football however we hemorrhaged goals nowadays we are the best defensive team in the continent and play a very pragmatic style of football something I’ve never seen from a Saudi national team ever we used to play just for the fun of it almost never had a tactic. Just hope he continues with us after the wc, what a manager he is.

As an Indonesian i say Park Hang-Seo has worked wonders on that squad. I mean, Viet leagues are not that much better than ours and yet despite your players only play in local clubs, they managed to do what we cannot achieve in many years. Hell, we finished dead last in the first stage qualifiers and if we meet Japan, we'd probably collapse in 10 minutes and got shredded. Managing to lost only 1-0 to Japan is an achievement itself, given Japan literally ripped their opposition apart with their B team with 3-9 goals per match.
Hope both of our countries team can grow, i wouldn't like to see my team in your shadow!
Along with our youth development. Our u20 squad actually attended the u20 world cup before coach Park arrives. Then, he came, took players from that squad and placed 2nd in u23 asian cup. So yeah, good players and a good coach

@@HarcusCGTV maybe Vleague look not so professionally but vleague is extreme competitive . In the last 2 years, the top teams can still drop in the rankings if they don't play carefully in the 2 last matches of the seasons because they are only 1-3 points apart.
The development of Vietnamese football is largely based on the development of youth football that has been built since 2007-2008. Vietnam's football academies were born to train young people both professionally and physically. The very talented Coach Park has contributed to the success of Vietnamese football. Currently, Vietnam is the only ASEAN country with a team participating in the Asian Championship at all levels U17, U20, U23, Senior and AFC, AFC Champions league. Not all of them are led by Coach Park. As for Indonesian football, looking at the number of players who died on the football field in 2014, 2017 and 2021, it is possible to assess the quality of PSSI.

These videos are awesome to watch, especially because I enjoy seeing other stories from the Asian countries. I'm an Australian born Lebanese, and I've been supporting both sides the whole way (unfortunate for Australia they're playing way below expectations), but it's fun to see another underdog country like Lebanon still fighting through.
Lebanon and Vietnam are the weakest teams among 2 groups but I admit the Lebanese did better than us

4:40 I wouldn't say Nguyen Manh isn't in his best of games. He's done so many saves, he was rated the Man of the Match by the buzz of Sofascore. Moreover, in Japan's only goal, the ball bounced on the ground so it's much harder for Manh to catch it. Otherwise, he's in the best of games actually.
I agree, he made 6-7 decent saves, japan literally overwhelmed Vietnam after their 1-0 lead and the reason Vietnam could hold a draw is mostly thanks to him

Oman was a dark horse in this group and unfortunately the group itself was so difficult to overcome all in all a decent showing for them and Vietnamese team as well.
I can imagine vietnam finishing on top of china if they got their key players since there are alot of them are injured like Van Hau and Dang Van Lam but Van Lam did play this game but if we got him and other players sooner we’ll get a chance for top 3 or 4
