Love the diff environments, wish we could have gotten a second expansion to DD with some of the Online assets, here’s hoping to a sequel announcement at TGA in December.
Even in Japan the game just wasn't popular. They shut down the game abruptly that even the devs who was working on new content had no idea the game was being shutdown until the official announcement. Apparently, the game wasn't profitable enough to maintain the game from what I heard in the small english community for this game.

Yeah it's a real shame. I'm especially frustrated that they didn't port the orc model which has so many unique variants which also includes machina enemies. Or the DDON dragon model which is unique from drakes. But hey at least we got slimes....
I will never forgive Capcom for shutting this game down. This would have popped off HARD in the west but higher ups at Crapcom are too stupid to see that. Mad/10
Ifrit was a really really tame Daimon enemy minus his final form. If you want to see a cool use of his skeleton check out one of my Baphomet videos. Imo he's the coolest of all of Daimons iterations.
Damn for a moment i thought i somehow missed an announcement and the game is back online. Hope they use what they learned from DDO as a reference for DD2. The game had some nice improvements and streamlined a lot of stuff. It kinda spoiled me to the point i didn't want to go back to DD1 after playing it. Imagine what DD2 could be without the ps3 hardware limitations xD
Im the same way with struggling to go back to ddda after online because of the quality of life changes to the classes and systems. I hope we get news of dd2 soon.
It was an action game above all else and an mmo second. Social wise it was rather weak. So if you went into it wanting a traditional mmo experience you would probably be left wanting. Gameplay wise it was a full blown capcom action title. All of the zooming around I do is accomplished by using reset mid pull which slighshots me in a direction. Definitely something you wouldn't see in a typical mmo and much closer to something in Devil may cry.
Yeah I wish but no official aot game has managed to make grappling hook not feel super limiting. Only reason I'm so mobile in all of my seeker videos is because im using reset to cancel my action after pulling myself resulting in a slingshot. Every time you see the little bar in the middle of the screen it's a reset being used. It's like a lighter version of something you would see in dmc4 on dante.
@@CrashExplosion yes and no. Although the entire body is unique, the hand thmselves and the attacks that associates with it, can also compare to daimon's phantom dragon (grogori) hands
@@Martin_Stingers Oh yeah true. I thought you were only referring to phase 1&2 where he exclusively uses daimon animations. I can definitely see the similarities in the phantom dragon swipe. Although there are new animations that come with phase 3 like the double arm slam or flame breath.
@@CrashExplosion yes, definitely. I am not saying that Ifrit is a copy of daimon by any means. Although there are animations and skeleton kinship, ifrit by all acvount is still it's own being. I however, apprieciates the use of Daimon more since he was such an polish boss in terms of animation and AI.
Yeah! It's why it was the most fun to master. It's a nimble class on its own but once you incorporate the reset momentum slingshot which you see in the video you start looking like something out of AOT.

Lets ban everyone outside Japan and then wonder why there's a dwindling playerbase! On a real note I hope Dragons Dogma 2 incorporates A LOT of the changes and classes in DDON.
It would be the best thing for DD2. Every pre-existing class got great qol changes and the new classes were amazing. Port the skill system. Port the new pawn changes i.e. making 3 pawns and all of the pawn qol changes. Tweak the health numbers to be more a bit less mmo-y. It would be so easy for them to just making dd2 amazing. If Kento Kinoshita(Guy who handled Dark Arisen and DDON) is in charge then I have faith, but if they just randomly change the gameplay director then it's gonna be a complete coin flip.

Like I'm looking at this, and maybe it's because I haven't played it. But this looks hella better than Final Fantasy 14.

Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen is single-player (more or less), and is extremely worth playing even in 2021.
