I'm a non-muslim Indonesian woman. I've been through some discriminations due to religion in my own country, but no one ever kicked me out from mosque yet. I accompanied my friend to pray in mosque and I was waiting outside, some people told me to wait inside because it was crazy hot outside of the mosque. There was a time I was stranded in a small village after hiking, I didn't bring cash, and no ATM machine. I didn't know anyone in that village and I can't pay hotel room to rest. I slept in musalla. They saw me with my heavy backpack and ugly motorbike, I asked for permission to sleep for one night, they said yes without even asking my religion.

@Jiihuashan yea that’s true. A lot of people that aren’t from Tibet can’t take the high altitude since there is a low supply of oxygen there. Thanks for the feedback Drew ☺️ wish I knew you were here so that I could have a chance to meet you and maybe show you around. I do agree about our slow WiFi and outdated in some ways, but honestly.... - that is the beauty of Brunei. It is peaceful here, we are used to it and love it. We feel safe here and we don't see it as living in such a dark regime. When we want to experience more city-like/updated areas, we just simply cross the border to Miri or fly to other countries. But we have no issues with Brunei being "boring" because we get to experience such a quiet, peaceful, outdated life. Not everyone gets to experience this life😊 - not everyone is living in poverty. I believe every country has a certain amount of poor people... That fact cannot be ignored. In fact, citizens here are spoilt with subsidised fees in hospitals and schools, these fees are almost free. And the elderly get pension too every month. Good enough to take care of food and house bills. Our Sultan is taking care of us very well. PS: I'm sure many individuals, including myself, have overall experienced more than you mentioned $23k worth of free education and medical care since I was born. Literally, we pay $1 per hospital visit and get medicine and treatments/surgeries for free, big or small. My dad paid $1 for mom to give birth and that actually costs $2k for foreigners. - the law about stoning gays to death, it was implemented just as a warning...but no one has ever been stoned to death because they made it almost impossible for this to happen. This law was just implemented based on the Muslim religion but trust me, there is a lot of grace in Brunei. You should live here to understand what we mean. - other than that, I've been following you for about 6 years now and I love your videos! I'm so sorry about what you had to go through at the mosque. It would be good to ask for guidance here by a local just to makesure you are not doing anything wrong 😂 It is so rare to be kicked out by bullies. I would like to meet those 2 idiots. Anyway, I'm not upset about your opinions about Brunei but I wish you saw it in our perspective and not assume we are living in a dark regime lol. Cheers!

Drew doesn't really have problem when visiting a Muslim country. At least in most of his video. So I think it's pretty clear it's not the religion but rather the people's hostility toward an outsider. Which also sadly happened in a mosque, a place where you wouldn't expect to be treated as such. That being said, of course I'm not sinking the entire ship. Those kind of people are spreaded all over the place. But still, in this context, Drew is a guest. And as a Muslim myself, hospitality is very recommended for 3 days, whatever beyond that is sadaqah. Sultan was the one who made the rules, supporting poverty and no parent children he more focus on donating them rather than evry citizen. normal citizen who have enough of everything dont mind this since donation is to help the poor. every year those ppl get ramdhan shawal donation direct from other sources up to 3 which where all the money from kingdom itself and citizen donation in those 3 sources ( srry im not really good at english tbh ) and the 4th source IS the Sultan himself give out the money $1000Bnd for 1 person [ if you have 5 sibling all those will sibling get it just apply for it ofcourse they will ask detail. btw these ppl get monthly money from governt to help them and house here loan is so cheap 150bnd for a month, house from govt you apply it is quite good much better than apartment in us or other country man idk how to state this but it is a good home altho u pay 150 amonth u gotta pay till end of loan like 30 - 50 years.
Not everyone gets to experience this life😊
- not everyone is living in poverty.
Cheers!

Brunei is a remarkable country that stands out for its exemplary societal values and structure. Prostitution and alcohol are prohibited in the Sultanate, fostering a high moral standard and contributing to a harmonious way of life. The crime rate is astonishingly low, making Brunei one of the safest countries in the world.
Another outstanding feature is the government’s commitment to its people. Healthcare is provided free of charge and is accessible to everyone, highlighting the nation's dedication to the well-being of its citizens. This universal healthcare system not only ensures a high quality of life but also instills a sense of security and care throughout society.
Brunei demonstrates that a clear moral vision, combined with strong social responsibility, can form the foundation of a stable and thriving nation.

(Shahih Bukhari)

It is unimaginable for me as a Muslim to even consider the idea of kicking ANYONE out of a mosque, like how low you can be to do that??
