I studied anthropolgy and was sent to Chiapas and some of its rural communities for research. This video does a really great work of simplyfing this problem. Some of the rural communities I visited had little acces to clean water, however, you could find a Coke in every corner.
A magazine article I read was a chemical analysis of the American Coke and the Mexican Coke. The writer found out that Mexican Coke no longer uses cane sugar but is formulated exactly like the American version...corn syrup. Some swindling going on here.
The problem is some people just don’t have a limit. Especially when it comes to soft drinks and junk food. There’s nothing wrong if you drink a coke then and there. But every day? C’mon. People don’t value their own lives. And a reply to your last sentence: Yes Coke is a killer. But the even bigger killer is the human that drank it every day. Nobody forced him to drink it. Nevertheless, my condolences with you and his family
@@blackappleslo well as someone who drank a lot and is slowly getting off it people drink it because it helped deal with problems and gave comfort emotionally. At least for me it did. Now is it good? Hell no but remember coke has sugar which gives a dopamine reaction that stimulates you. It's not that easy to just cold turkey it. Everyone has some form of an addiction. Some are good many are bad but we all have our demons and our problems.
Reapers Digest look I understand. It’s your go-to comfort drink. But you need to understand that you’re killing yourself with it. There’s 10 grams of sugar in a 100 ml of Coca Cola. Calculate how many sugar did you consume, when you drank 4 liters. Everyone has their own addiction? I wouldn’t agree on that one. Some people have it, others don’t. The key is to find help if you can’t overcome your addiction
Cane sugar soda's the acid in the drink, breaks the sucrose into fructose and glucose at almost the same percentage as HFC's. The difference you're tasting is bottling locations, and in part in your head. It's why people say Coke in a glass bottle "tastes" better.
How to make a profit: Step 1: be born Step 2: realize that your whole town/city drinks 2 liters of coca cola a day Step 3: work hard to become a dentist Step 4: you're set for life
Except the same lack of consideration for the health costs of Coca-Cola weigh against going to the dentist as well, not to mention it's one of the poorest regions in Mexico. I've lived a little more than 2 years in total in different areas in Mexico (never in Chiapas though) and even in poverty people love to go to convenience stores and small tienditas to buy small quantities of coke and some sort of chips.
It's something to be embarrassed and ashamed about. It's the government's fault for the price discrepancy between coke and water and failing to educate its people on the health repercussions of consuming so much soda
Melon Muskells you realize that’s impossible. That’s almost 3 gallons of water. That’s 6 times the recommended. Your organs would fail and even burst. Maybe you meant another unit of measurement. Or maybe that much in a week. Edit: it can also dilute the blood

I'm from Mexico, and all comes down to tradition. You see, I'm from the north part of Mexico, Baja California, and I drink around 3 liters per month of Coke (I like green tea and mineral water more) and Coke is actually coming from the Cocaine plant. As many of us know, back in the 20s, Coke was made with the same plant as Cocaine, but in a small percentage. During our prehispanic history, in all of South America the plant was used for a lo of things, and was used as an offering in the rituals (the Aztecs did this, also in Peru), so yeah, old people and people that grow in a religious or spiritual family think Coke is like the plant but in a liquid form. Sorry for the bad English.
I am an American optometrist. I did volunteer work with indigenous people who travel from the state of Guerrero to Baja California. Coca - Cola is a major part of indigenous peoples' caloric intake. My wife and I tried to convince women not to give Coca - Cola to their infants. Unfortunately, the indigenous women were not influenced and they continued to give babies Cola when they are hungry or just bored.
i swear thats literally like that one episode in fairly oddParents where they live in that one town (i forgot what it was called) and they were all obsessively drinking bottled milk i hope you know which episode i am talking about
if its the same one I watched, then man you have hearing problems doctors tell them about why it happens and how to stop it, but doctors cannot force their patients into being healthy or changing their habits.
I have family that lived in a town in Ireland that had a bottling plant. My uncle and cousin were employed in the factory. In my uncles shed, he had crates of this drink and others, sugar laden carbonated drinks, all sold at discounted prices. Him, my aunty and cousin drank two to four cans of these drinks a day. My uncles died from heart disease, my aunt needed a heart bypass and my cousin gave up drinking carbonated sugar drinks, lost weight and now only drinks water, milk and tea. I think somewhere deep within that corporation, they know the effects, but they also know about mass profits, so its like a giant social experiment. Give the people what they want, at a cheap cost, and watch and see what happens. Beats me how this company is always one of the biggest sponsors of sports events when it contributes so much to obesity, heart disease and other health problems in humans.
You could add drugs companies to that whom peddle their products in such a way to get everybody using them, regardless of whether it is in their best interests.
Steady on. Some people are super healthy and drop dead. Some people eat anything and everything and live long. Some people smoke do drugs and eat and drink all this bad stuff and outlive many people. My grandfather is 97 he says when your numbers up its up. My first funeral was a 6ywar old girl died of cancer lived 3 years more than the doctors said of 3. My old man didn't drink didn't smoke didn't eat or drink fizzy drinks and died at 60 My 5 closest friends all lost their dad 40-56 4 were healthy. Few men I know drink smoke take drugs and are still kicking around doing this shit in their 70s. I believe things can shorten life and things extended it but healthy eating is way more expensive than eating poorly. Idk sometimes these heslth companies telling you be healthier is better while they fill their pockets. Think logically the water isn't exactly safe these days... Google it if tou think water is healthy. You'll be surprised because technically it is but at the same time it's not everyone reacts different

Some are good many are bad but we all have our demons and our problems.
Reapers Digest look I understand. It’s your go-to comfort drink. But you need to understand that you’re killing yourself with it. There’s 10 grams of sugar in a 100 ml of Coca Cola. Step 2: realize that your whole town/city drinks 2 liters of coca cola a day
Step 3: work hard to become a dentist

Funny how their skinny and that their dentists are way better and way cheaper.

My uncles died from heart disease, my aunt needed a heart bypass and my cousin gave up drinking carbonated sugar drinks, lost weight and now only drinks water, milk and tea.
