@@RUHappyATM yes you're not wrong but the way you phrase your sentence are "certain sectors of the majority" which basically meant a minority, that's what they are, a minority. and the majority doesnt remains silent, we fought, constantly in our education we remind people to respect the non-malay local as local, even our buku teks Sejarah whenever it talks about the Long Jaafar bringing in Chinese miner or the communist emergency consequenced in the arrival of 1.2 million chinese, it always ends the chapter with a reminder about persepaduan kaum. every country will have a minority of certain something, but it's wrong to use the minority to picture the whole country. It's like using KKK to picture USA. What's important is what the majority does about it, and the majority fought, as much as we can. Let's not let setitik nila rosakkan susu sebelangga, what you said is indeed the truth, but it doesnt contradict with what she said. I am a Malaysian Eurasian (Catholic Christian) here.. Thank you for recognizing the Beauty of our country.. Islam is the official religion here but for the non Muslims we are free to practice our religion here and what's beautiful is that despite being different by race/religion we hold our back together as family. How? Obviously being respectful and having good manners what keeps us united. As we know Muslims have to comply with their religious laws so for us non Muslim when we hangout with our Muslim friends we would find a halal eatery (no pork/alcohol). Besides that we love to share the beauty of our religion to each other even though we have a different belief/faith because we rather let our friends understand than to judge us which can cause misunderstanding. Talking about love relationships, yes in Malaysia you must convert to Islam if you want to marry a Malay (Muslim) by the constitution law of this country. Mixed marriage is allowed only for non Muslim Malaysians of other races for example most commonly the Eurasians (Christian), Indians (Christian/Hindu), Chinese (Christian/Buddhist/Taoist). So mostly Malays will marry a Malay because of the same religion but there are other races too who marry a Malay and convert to Islam, but a Malay can't leave his or her religion to marry a non Muslim. So i hope my explanation is clear for you guys to understand more about our country, the laws, and beauty of every nation you meet here regardless of our race and religion because we are Malaysians. 🇲🇾 Feel at home guys..🙏🏾
I think if jenuan love and truly love so no need for conversion both are can follow our religion as a I'm Indian Hindu I'm believe on real love and my religion also not say for conversion but here Indian Muslim also belive of conversion this think may be not good if you love someone so we should accept as a people
Yes, in Malaysia people with different races or religions live in harmony you know it's not like when I was studying in the USA a girl bullied my sister and pulled my sister's hijab my sister was crying
Only in Malaysia we call every elderly folks either uncle or aunty. Even if they are not our relation, when someone is older than you we still address them that. We have this set of community harmony that cares for one another. Uncle or aunty also translates as Makcik or Pakcik in Bahasa Melayu. Let it be a Nasi Lemak stall lady or a soy bean stall man. They are our uncles and aunties.
That's because we use the terms uncle & aunty for pakcik & makcik. We don't apply 'uncle & aunty' as what those terms really mean in native English speaking countries. Same goes with 'sister'. It is not really mean 'kakak'. We just use it as 'kakak'.
@@faizfaiz965 You do not need to be in a particular region to use such terms. That's the uniqueness of Malaysia! I call any Indian or Chinese elders; Uncle and Aunty all the time..Whether if is its native or second language user, it doesn't matter here.. Because family words such as ah gong, ah ma, uncle, aunty, aci, anneh. tangekeci, thambi, ah boi, pakcik, makcik, abang, kakak, miss, madam, puan, tuan, and adik have connotations of respectfulness, closeness, and understanding. It creates a bond between the Malaysians and that gives rise to the country’s harmony and peace.
"why would you stress out if you dont have to right?" is a very accurate description of malaysians in my opinion. We know our priorities. I'm proud of malaysians and thankful we are the way we are. Lets keep this trait and never forget our identity guys.
Malaysians already be friendly for thousand years ago before the form of this new country. The sultanate of Malacca and Port of Malacca had been center of culture, business , religion and everything. Malaysians especially Malays have been spreading their magic dust of kindness long before and during Malacca Sultanates. Throughout history of this blessed land…even there were wars amongst chieftains and neighbouring state from the North, the Malay people hardly became victim of mass killing or genocide. Their soft and politeness melted the heart of their conquerors and their strongest weapon of war is their diplomacy. They’ve got everything through talk and over food. If we read many historical books both by western people and from China…the Malay people through the region basically were non confrontational but of course they are rogue sections of the community but overall, their culture of politeness and adab ( good ethic) both have been their strength and their weaknesses in this world of capitalism and that individualistic environment. We work hard to maintain that but it is becoming a challenge with the advancement of technology and influx of foreign cultures that may influence our youngs.
There was one time, i tried to help out a tourists couple while they were ordering drinks at a stall as the seller was struggling to understand them. They look at me so suspiciously and gave me a weird look… they probably think i was expecting/asking money in return 😂
Got it... That is the first impression of tourist the very first time they landed in Malaysia. They still have skeptical that Malaysians as a third world country (they call) will have no diff than others in which they believe cheating tourist, scamming tourist, money trap etc... Indeed.
Once, saw a car broke down in the middle of the road. Thought chinese-ethnic Malaysian, so ask them whats wrong. Turned to be Korean with very minimal command of English. Help them.by towing their car to the nearest workshop that service exact brand of the car (Korean brand) When I untie the tow rope, one of them came and want to give money. I said no, thanks, and left...... ......forgetting that the other end of the tow rope still attached to their car.
Because most Malaysians already had ideas about global cultures since child, able to accept changes in lifestyle & aren’t trapped inside their own ideas of culture. Openness & acceptance are the key.
Happy traveling in Malaysia. Enjoy peace in this country as much as possible and get valid and official information from the local authorities. - watching from Melaka, Malaysia
The hard truth is that Malaysia is very safe for tourists but for locals we don’t get that kind of hospitality everyday.. we don’t appreciate each other enough.
This is the same everywhere on Earth. The local people will always be nicer to foreigners, especially because they come from the other side of the world with the most contrast in every aspect possible (physical, cultural, language, wealth). Who doesn't like or look up to rare, interesting and accomodating visitors?
I have just visited Nowy Sącz in Poland, and I find the Polish people in general are also very friendly and helpful. My favourite greeting that I used are Dzień dobry and Dziękuję ❤🇵🇱

Malaysian foods is one of the best.. love it. Im Indonesian, and when i visited serawak for holiday and wait the border open in Malaysian side. im shocked when some random guy not a police or imigration officer ask for our pasport and point his flashlight to my face 😅😅. Malaysia can make you kinda take things for granted. There is a dentist or a 24 hours clinic around the corner or a 24 hours restaurant. That made me settled down in Ipoh, Malaysia.
I worked in Malaysia for 4 years and everything she says is true. As an American trying to do business the “don’t get stressed” ethos was a little frustrating but I can see that it’s a better way to live. I miss it a lot.
You're right about the altruism of Malaysians. We walked into a warung got some nasi lemak, and Teh tarik. We wanted to pay the food the owner said a Haji paid our meals🎉🎉❤❤.
My friend a headmaster bringing his 2 bus full of orang asli schoolchildren from Hendrop to eat near putrajaya after watching merdeka day parade in kl.. Then one atuk paid for all the food.!!! About rm800.. Bless him.
My friend, Indian-ethnic Dr, worked in a gov hospital in a rural small town where the population is 99% malay, told me, then, he spent less than RM50 on food per week Many recognised him. Everywhere he went, almost always someone paid his meals.
In Malaysia we address other unknown person respectively as a family - Uncle/ Pakcik , Auntie/Makcik, Brother/Abang,Sister/ Kakak or Adik(younger ones)..no matter of race/religion/status..we are a family..Im proud to be a Malaysian..
Best interview that I've seen on your channel by reason of your guest being genuine in a spontaneous and moving manner. She brought out the simple human values that prevail over here in a heartfelt way. We wish her a beautiful journey in life. And thanks to your channel.
Poland also a nice place to be, easy to move around with its good public transport in Warsaw plus Uber and car for hire. Been there before Covid for about two weeks; went to Warsaw old town around its legendary mermaid, to Gdansk old town and strolling along its waterfrront, to Zakopane and to its mesmerizing Morskie Oko and to Krakow (where I got my car door pasted with a co*k sticker - I didn't really know why but I figured that somebody must've not happy with the way I parked the car - never mind, it took only a couple minutes to take it out.) Polish Zlotty is comparable to Malaysian RM roughly about 1:1.1, so moneywise Malaysias will feel home there although for muslim travellers, there is somewhat limited choice of local foods they culd enjoy. As a DIY enhusiast myself I really like Warsaw Home Depot.
Poland is not a good place to be at the moment. Many refugees from Ukraine are there and it can be dangerous at night. Also, being close to the Russian-Ukrainian conflict is not good as the war may escalate if NATO and Russia gets into a hot war.

Take a breathe lady 😅, Yes you're absolutely right! I have been here since 2016 and been treated so well by the people even in the countryside. Amazing!
There is a lot of amazing points to living in Malaysia. Our social life is very diverse, and there is a general kind and carefree atmosphere (especially towards western foreigners), some accommodation, and especially food is much much cheaper compared to other developed nations… in my opinion, a lot of our problems are mostly only visible to locals, things like bias and racism still exist but is much more hidden under the surface. We have to practice outward tolerance to different cultures, but racial relations in reality is still very fragile because our attitude/philosophies toward life can be quite different and sometime at odds . While cost of living is incredibly cheap in Malaysia (by developed nation standards), but it's also a form of stagnation to locals, cost of living have to remain cheap here cause the average Malaysian don't have a lot of spending power… honestly, the experience will vary a lot, living in KL and other cities is vastly different from the experiences of people living in states with higher rural communities..

The nice aspect of Southeast Asian / East Asian society is not all the amazing stuff, paradise settings, delicious food, beautiful culture etc, but rather it's the people. Asians are consistently very friendly, respectful and docile people. They want to chat and joke around with you, smile and ensure you are okay. You don't have to worry about crime or any aggressive behavior there. They are just a very meek people and they will put you at ease immediately. There is nowhere else in the world that you will experience that consistently across several countries and from big cities to small towns, except in Asia.

Let's face the truth, some of the locals are still classed as pendatangs by certain sectors of the majority and the majority remains silent.
@@RUHappyATM Europeans do the same, stfu.
u cant talk politics
Both can be true at once, however, to use the minority to describe Malaysia as a bad country is definitely wrong

I think if jenuan love and truly love so no need for conversion both are can follow our religion as a I'm Indian Hindu I'm believe on real love and my religion also not say for conversion but here Indian Muslim also belive of conversion this think may be not good if you love someone so we should accept as a people
According to Islam a Muslim man is allowed to marry a Christian or a Jewish woman, so she doesn't have to convert to Islam.

Well said brother, well said
Brother That's the case for every Muslim country! we also call elderly people uncle/Aunty or even mother in some places!

😂😂😂
no wonder our guys searching for foreign women , local women are to dramatic victimize 😂
The reason is Islam
I was told one of the reasons we are not as successful as the chinese is because we are too polite and we are not greedy enough.
Lol, cough bs, LoL.
The Malays are master politicians.
There was one time, i tried to help out a tourists couple while they were ordering drinks at a stall as the seller was struggling to understand them. They look at me so suspiciously and gave me a weird look… they probably think i was expecting/asking money in return 😂
i experienced that as well .. hahahahaha... we love to help people!
Hahaha maybe they have been to a certain country, a local was very friendly, helped them and afterwards demanded money from them for his "assistance"!
Got it... That is the first impression of tourist the very first time they landed in Malaysia. They still have skeptical that Malaysians as a third world country (they call) will have no diff than others in which they believe cheating tourist, scamming tourist, money trap etc... Indeed.
This is because lot of your neighbor countries like to scam tourists. Only Malaysia and Singapore treats tourists very well
Once, saw a car broke down in the middle of the road. Thought chinese-ethnic Malaysian, so ask them whats wrong.
Turned to be Korean with very minimal command of English.
Help them.by towing their car to the nearest workshop that service exact brand of the car (Korean brand)
When I untie the tow rope, one of them came and want to give money.
I said no, thanks, and left......
......forgetting that the other end of the tow rope still attached to their car.
Very interesting experience from the sister. ☺️❤️ Love the breakdown of her culture and Malaysia from her point of view. 😳
Culture.
Whatever happened to cultures?
Why are Malaysians so friendly? 🤔
Because they subscribed to this channel.
Because its in our blood espeacially malay
why not
😊
Because most Malaysians already had ideas about global cultures since child, able to accept changes in lifestyle & aren’t trapped inside their own ideas of culture. Openness & acceptance are the key.
Cuz we muslim & follow the command of al-qur'an. There must put respect on parent and doing good with neighbors
Right? Seeing foreigners being accepted, appreciated, is abit jarring since me as a local rarely even get that treatment lol
This is the same everywhere on Earth. The local people will always be nicer to foreigners, especially because they come from the other side of the world with the most contrast in every aspect possible (physical, cultural, language, wealth). Who doesn't like or look up to rare, interesting and accomodating visitors?

Poland also a nice place to be, easy to move around with its good public transport in Warsaw plus Uber and car for hire. Been there before Covid for about two weeks; went to Warsaw old town around its legendary mermaid, to Gdansk old town and strolling along its waterfrront, to Zakopane and to its mesmerizing Morskie Oko and to Krakow (where I got my car door pasted with a co*k sticker - I didn't really know why but I figured that somebody must've not happy with the way I parked the car - never mind, it took only a couple minutes to take it out.) There is a lot of amazing points to living in Malaysia.
