Those 265’s are beasts even na search up hemi 265 and see the mirabato performance one, also one from street machine was like 450wrhp with original webers
automatics are faster in a drag even same powered cars, gear changing kills the times. 3 speed six is better like i had in a 245 2 door pacer. but that is a stoker v8 not an even contest. all valiants are nice always where.
Although these were built to be driven hard (as much as you could a 70's land yacht), if I was lucky enough to have one in my garage I'd probably baby the fuck out of it. :D
Any normal sized V8 would probably lost to the 265. The fact it took well beyond any standard Valiant V8 engine capacity to "put a six in it's place" as some would say just shows it wasn't put in it's place because the 2 cars are not anywhere near comparable. Wonder how much the V8 owes the owner.....
My mate got hold of a good charger came with a 265 ,12 port head ,borg warner box and diff he tossed both the box and diff and fitted the good stuff took the engine out 60,000 thou os worked on getting the pistons and heads right fitted a great diff 9" and ,4 speed the ratio were perfect run it in with a 400 Holley then moved to tripples this thing was a beast untill he had the gall to rip off his mates that stuck with him in every thing untill he came out to start his non starting Charger some one said it had been filled with sugar where the petrol was ment to flow , I guess he learnt a hard lesson
My first real car was a 72 vj charger cost 6k back in 83 which I muscled up the 265 now I've gotten a 360 baddass stroker built just need 30k to buy the 72 vj again.....
It took the Barra to show the 265 what a real V8 beater is. 265 was excellent in it's time for what it is. Oooo, just thought of another turbo Barra recipient ;).
It took 30yrs of technological advancements including a turbocharger, intercooler, multi-point fuel injection, dual overhead cams, 24 valve cylinder head and variable valve timing. To beat chrysler's pushrod six with triple carbs. 😂
@@brianfrost303 just the Gen3. After picking up from the dealership they clattered and banged all the way home just to push the brand spanking new car into the garage and immediately rip the cursed engine out to rebuild it and fix the piston slap from factory. When it drove back out and onto the road with a repaired engine, then it was a beast that could finally beat the E49.
@@mak265 What exactly does it take to replicate the E49 spec? As far as I can tell, it's a Weber carburetor set up, free flow exhaust, 4 speed Borg Warner gearbox, and not much more. Oh, and 'slot' alloy wheels and some black paint. But tell me where I'm wrong.....

I'd like to see them on a circuit. 265 would out handle the 8!

That's my new current engine.
mak351 awesome
i used to have a 1970 vg valiant coupe with the charger spec 265hemi with 300hp
Both nice cars.
three bags of concrete on both wheel wells, and leaving the line at 6,000 rpm n not short shifting, that start would have been completely different,✌️

What a ridiculous pair-up; as good as the E49 is, a 265 against a 416??? Was only ever going to be one outcome.
Mate that's obvious. It wasn't a serious race. Just 2 mates having some fun
Your lack of detail in the vid left me scratching my head. Your explanation here made the thing ridiculous and a ripoff.
I had the same trouble with my visor in my VJ 😂

Don't believe the v8 was stock and if it was, would be that much quicker than the six.
416 stroker with 642 HP vs 300HP Hemi 6
no replacement for displacement
Yep
Turbo!

loved it !!
The Chrysler VH Valiant Charger is a best in-line six muscle far for ever
Gotta love the adidas wear
Its a pity c a l was so conservative they made some bloody good cars unfortunately they never realized their full potential

4 cylinders have nailed V8's for decades , thats why weight penalties were imposed.
and most 4cyl cars weigh nothing.
The dreaded sunvisor sag
Got the Romes doing the peddle work
So much Adidas.
He gone.
Both winners
???
Must have the tape in backwards cuz the steering is on the wrong side ? Lol
Even.
So it works for cars too? Just no substitute for CCs.
There is no substitute for cubic inches V8s
No offence but that hemi wasnt even reving v8 must of been pretty worked too nice car anyway man.
amsoundofsteel moff . that v8 is a 416 cube roller cam and has 650HP. the hemi 6 had 300hp and revved to 5900.
That explains it mate.
16.2 quarter
Lol. Actually 13.4@104 to be precise . Just a mild 265 4 spd and 3.5 gearing .
Original?
Aidan Lambert nah faker
Nice car though
