The way Ustad Zakir Hussein Plays table is as if he's connected to the artist that he is accompanying. He knows every single move, accurately predicts every single stop, every sam, every beginning and even every interplay improvisation, as if he has memorized something that hasn't been created yet. This is incredibly good. Ustad Zakir Hussein is a wizard.
That comes from alot of practice .when j was a kid I use to sync with any bollywood song with a table and after many years of practice I can sync with many music even if I'm doing it for first time

I saw Zakir with I believe Rahul's father: The great Shivkumar Sharma. I saw them at the Herbst Theater in S.F. He singlehandedly brought the santoor into mainstream music. Fabulous. Went backstage and greeted them. Wonderful. 🕉

Watching and listening to this while in quarantine April 10 2020 , this music made me forget about anything, Corona , quarantine, death, material , money and so , just took me to the wonder land of love and integrity, Passion. Listening to this at 1 o clock very load, my neighbor nocked the door and when I opened the door , are you going to increase the volume or I should call the police, told him , no need to call the police , this is the maximum volume , but you can come and join, start watching it from beginning.

The sync! I can't say anything else about it. One moment, you hear the sound of santoor and the other, the tabla. They are alternating within the fraction of a second. This what I could say with my understanding of classical music about this masterpiece by the two legends.

The sync! I can't say anything else about it. One moment, you hear the sound of santoor and the other, the tabla. They are alternating within the fraction of a second. This what I could say with my understanding of classical music about this masterpiece by the two legends.

এক কথায় অপূর্ব। খুব খুব ভালো লাগলো। তবলার শব্দ আমাকে খুব টানে। কয়েক মাস শিক্ষাও নিয়েছিলাম। ওস্তাদ বলতেন আমার তবলার হাত খুব ভালো। আপনার মতো দক্ষ ওস্তাদের সান্নিধ্যে পেলে জীবন বদলে যেতো। অনেক অনেক শুভেচ্ছা ও অভিনন্দন রইলো ওস্তাদ ঝী। ভালো থাকবেন সবসময়।।
