That's what I'm talking about solenoid infection 😤. You you are great 👍buddy. Good explanation and tricks and tips, Thanks for sharing vital information 👍.
Pretty much if you have a p0015 code like I do, it could be 1 of 19 different things. I’ve been having these code and my f01 going into limp mode for the longest, changed oil, spark plugs and ignition coils, changed valve solenoids, changed both camshaft sensors and I still have this code, I’m hoping it’s not the chain
Hey brother, thank you for your video. I got a 2018 Cadillac Escalade the car has 221,000 miles a week ago I replace camshaft and camshaft lifters camshaft phaser right now. The car after 3 days the car doesn’t start. And then I receive these p0016 & p0017 do you have any ideas?
I replaced the timing belt on a 2013 Cruze with 1.8 engine. It's getting worse since then throwing there 0017 and 0018 code. Is it possible I have a bad tensioner?
I have a 2019 GMC Terrain with a P0017 engine error. I replaced the both VVT Solenoids, Crankshaft and Camshaft sensors. The code still exist. If there’s any dirt/particulars in the oil, will that cause a P0017?
I have a p0019 on toyota 3ur-fe v8 engine. It has 11000miles on it only. Used 5w-40, although it asks for 0w-20, so changed to 0w-20 to see if there is any issue with oil not reaching the exhaust cam shaft vanes. Also get a misfire code on cylinder 2 when accelerating hard, but only 1 out 4 times and car goes into limp mode. Reset everything, and turn engine off/on all OK, except I get a p0019 immediately as the ECM must be checking that the cam shaft is in synch. So cleaned the right vvt solenoid, swapped vvt sensor with another vvt sensor, swapped 1 vvt sensor with camshaft sensor, and although not the best idea, put a née crankshaft sensor. Swapped injector of cylinder 2 and cylinder 1. Swapped spark plugs, and coil packs with cylinder 2 and cylinder 4 to move the misfire, but no change. The first occurance of the trouble was a difficulty to start, multiple misfire codes, and some other codes, limp mode triggered and rough running, 2 restarts later all normal and reset codes with scangauage.
At 2:21 you recommend to check, clean, and test the VVT solenoid as if it was dip stick. I wish I could do that. I have to disconnect a lot of the wiring harness, fuel injector rails, so that I can then remove one valve cover. Rinse and then repeat for the passenger side. 😆
Can you change the tensioner without taking off the valve cover and without having to "time" the engine again? Also, do you have to "prime" the vanos system after replacing any of the sensors/solenoids or chain tensioner?
You would think they they would find a way to narrow the codes down to if you get X code fix X not if you get X code start with X for $200 if its not that then try Y for $450 then Z for $2,346 but it's definitely one of them, well or it's C, H, R, W, I but youll find it eventually.
Exactly!!!!! I hate getting a code, then looking it up and getting, ‘this code could be a result of these 17 things’ like wtf. Tell me exactly what to replace, all this fishing is costing me a lot
I have an interesting one for you buddy, i have a 2006 toyota sienna about a year ago march of 2023 i accelerated the van on the highway too much i pushed it to 95 mph and suddendly it did not want to go past 95 it got a misfire, when i got off the the highway the van was shaking with a bad misfire i though a spark plug coil messed up,when i got home i connected my scanner and it had multiple misfire codes p0300 ,before this it did have a check engine light for low catalyst efficiency i think thats what caused this issue too much accelaration and the engine could not exhaust like it should, long story short i did what i could and could not figure it out it had low compression on 2 cylinders and misfire on like 4 cylinders,i replaced the spark plugs,i removed the injectors and cleaned them and still misfiring,i took it to a mechanic left it, 2 days after he told me it had a bent valve after supposedly replacing the valve i went to pick up the van i noticed it was slightly lazy i put my scanner and saw it had a P0016 code now,i took it back to him van stood there another 3 days and he couldn't figure out . I've been driving it like this so far but it has no misfire and engine is steady but still has the code,i removed and checked the VVt solenoid and its working i did a video on my channel here on UA-cam if anyone also has an idea that can help i'll appreciate it Thanks.
codes p0017 and p0016 , 3 years ago on this engine I have it has 3 separate timing chains they changed at all of them and the chain guides and tensioners. Now they say my flywheel probably slipped on the crank shaft. The only problem is those codes and a little loss of power when accelerating. What could it be? 2008 Cadillac.
Please can anyone tell me where to find the oil control valve in a 2010 chrysler 300. I've called about 6 different chrysler dealership and they some how don't know anything about their car. I went to a junk yard and did surgery on their cars and still can't find it. Help would be appreciated tremendously 3.5 engine
I have a 2018 Nissan Rogue sport 153,000 miles I changed both vvts and changed oil I still have a P0015 B camshaft position timing over-retarded ? Bank 1 code . Can you please help. Could it be the camshaft gear phasers?? What do you think???
I got this code but my car sounds like it makes a noise like it’s knocking but my boss says it’s not my pistons or cam ? He thinks it’s a pulley or some sort but the code was a p0015. I had just got my oil done as well 2 weeks ago
I hate my newer 7 series. I have an old 5 series with like 250k on it, best car I’ve owned, and it’s still my daily driver, drives like it’s fresh off the lot, my 7 series has way to many problems

Did you ever fix the problem??
Error code still exist. I’m planning to change the oil sensor. If you have any advise, I would appreciate it. Thanks for checking back.
Timing chain
That’s what I was hoping it wasn’t. Thanks for replying. 👊🏾

not all VVT solenoids are hard to get to lol but I understand what your saying lol
Good thing you dont have to do all of that to replace it, if it is that.

Yes You can
Good Stuff!!!

Do I have to fill oil again if it’s the chain being stretched or when I unplug the two connectors

Unfortunately I had the worst happen to me. 150k on my car and I need to change the timing chain:(
And I changed camshaft position sensor.
Good video, it gets a like and a subscribe from me today
