When I saw the busted stain glass windows I was sure the chapel would be graffitid to hell and back. But to see it so clean and untouched was amazing..
I appreciate that the French graffiti artists were like, "Nah, this place is good." Even if you're not religious, the sheer beauty of the place would keep me from marring the aesthetic.
The window, doorways and that chapel were beautiful! Those stained glass windows and the alter were pristine. Older architecture is so cool! Thanks for the explore gentlemen.
YESSSS! FINALLY YA'LL UPLOADED! I love your channel, you don't disrespect the location nor vandalize it. You always make sure the location stays hidden or document it right before it's demolished to prevent vandals from further destroying such beauty and history. YOU guys are true explorers who respect awesome locations and preserve amazing history for generations to come! Edit: Holy ship! Thank you all for the likes! You guys ROCK!
Beautiful! That courtyard made me think of The Secret Garden. No wonder you couldn't help being drawn back to it over and over while exploring. Thank you for including the part with the bee. Little touches like that are what set your videos above and beyond.
No waaay I know this place, I was born and raised nearby!! I hope you got to visit a bunch of places in the region. We have a ton of cool urbex spots and I always dreamed of seeing you guys document them
The details on this building are absolutely mind-bending because this detail is everywhere. ALL of that detail was applied by hand. Every single piece. The irony is that when this was being built it was just the way it was done at the time. No big deal really. My question ? What part of the garbage that is being built today will be looked at as amazing 100 years from now ?
The more and more I watch you guys, the more I appreciate how much you love the interaction of man made architecture and nature. The attention to detail you focus on with things like spider webs and vines and leaves and how they interact with these abandoned structures. It is the reason I continue to enjoy your work again and again...
10:04 that is correct. Upper is in French, lower is in (old spelling) Dutch. I'd guess because they treated Belgian soldiers there (Belgium is bi-lingual French and Flamish (which is basically Dutch).
This place is incredible! The chapel, the courtyard, the staircase, everything was there! It's such a shame that it's all rotting and falling into decay. Your channel does excellent bringing to public attention some of the lesser-known masterpieces like this. Hope the right person sees this and is willing to invest in it and save it from complete destruction.
Thank you for your new visit. Miss seeing you two. You always show us interesting views Your narratives are calm and informative. Keep us wanting more.
You two are just absolute experts. No detail overlooked. Your videos are compositions that tell such a story. Stirs up emotion as we watch and listen. Thanks, Guys! 😃
Truly Beautiful. Apparently a lot of people are still looking out for this stunning piece of architecture. Your filming is impeccable. Showcases the sincerity and respect you guys have for your explorations….even if a pillar is off centered. You work with it.
Hey can you guys explore sea breeze? It’s an predominantly abandoned ghost town on the southern tip of New Jersey . Used to be a busy beach town but it’s now desolate with no one but 1 year round resident
Although I am not a religious person per say, as soon as you opened the door to the Chapel.....an Ethereal moment! So Beautiful! Thank you for capturing the Essence of this timeless structure! It should be transformed into a tasteful housing complex for seniors, and the Chapel should be open to the Public as a Museum.......the markings on the compartments in the basement appear to be names and dates of the deceased who were cremated there, probably at a time when burials were either to expensive, or too risky to perform.
I've been watching this channel since middle school around 2016/17, Both on my school account and my personal account, Here's to more years of these awesome videos
Your conversations while exploring are always the best part of your videos! Sophisticated, interesting and never that "Wow! Look at that! So amaaaazing..." like many other U-tubers do
I really appreciate that ya’ll don’t ruin anything when visiting these places. This girl asked me what abandoned stuff i watch and I said you guys. And she said that she liked a different channel where they destroy stuff and that’s so messed up to me. 😢
You guys never disappoint. I’ve been following you guys/this channel for years. I can’t believe it has been 10 years. The Renaissance Festival in the Woods was my first video watch on this channel, I’ve seen the older videos too!
you guys should invest in a small RC car with a cam, or small drone to go into areas too dangerous to walk in. You guys are the very best urbex channel ever. Thank you for sharing your adventurers.
Michael mellowing on the sketchy steps, floors, and heights - at least this time anyway :) Some of the early content looked death defying. The guy has given me vertigo on my living room couch I don't know how many times 😨
It's incredible how it's in decently good shape. Shows how sloped roofs really outlast flat roofs. Malls that are abandoned for like 5 years already tend to have lot of leaks and mold.
we used to go on a church day trip once a year to an old seminary in Upholland, here in the north of England. The seminary was same kind of layout as this with the courtyard and chapel in it. We used to have open air mass in the courtyard and a picnic afterwards, I remember exploring some of the ground floors inside the seminary and creeping up and down the stairs. The buildings at Upholland are now fully abandoned yet still stand and now has come a favourite of urban explorers, maybe one to visit if you are ever in the UK?
That there are still such beautiful places in the world, which most of the world has already forgotten.... Breathtaking. As I said, Europe is coming out wonderfully for you. Feel free to come back for more.
Although I don't think this is the case, the "boxes" in the basement made me wonder if those were used for human remains of some sort (as in cremated). Regardless, great video as always.
If it was a seminary school or public infrastructure there will be no taxes on it pretty much It would be what they call tax exempt. If you lived in the United States.
That was an awesome video. You can tell from the attempt at blocking the door and how clean the chapel was, work has absolutely been done on the chapel to restore it. I'd say it's highly likely that either the chapel was massively graffitied or the weather damage and rot was really bad.
The chapel was just a wonderful design and build. I couldn't help but try to estimate the cost of putting that many windows of those various sizes and shapes in a building today. Nice tour, thanks.
the altar left me speechless. the way the colored glass and the paintings look so untouched after so long is unbelievable.
Imagine being a medieval knight on pilgrimage offering up prayers there in the 14th century. The chapel has an ageless feel to it.
The Holy Spirit is protecting it.
When I saw the busted stain glass windows I was sure the chapel would be graffitid to hell and back. But to see it so clean and untouched was amazing..

The respect shown to the chapel with the lack of graffiti.
I was so happy there was no graffiti there.
I thought that was really incredible!!!
Must be protected by the Holy Spirit.
It's an unwritten graffiti law
There is a huge difference between graffiti artists and taggers.
There is ethics among the first.
How can this be left to wither and deteriorate? What a beauty. Very sad
You guys are the G.O.A.T of urban exploration. Been a fan since the beginning. 👍🏼
You know you're in a good region when the chapel is untouched
I adore you two and hope you never stop taking us with you when you explore. ❤
I’ll save the video for bedtime and watch it then being to enjoy while it’s quiet and peaceful before going to sleep
that's a little explicit.

Incredibly beautiful and breathtaking! Amazing. Thank you very much for showing it to us!
The hand coming out of the outer chapel tower wall is something I haven't seen before, it looked so well detailed too , amazing.
The details on this building are absolutely mind-bending because this detail is everywhere. ALL of that detail was applied by hand.

You ever thought about putting out a photography book?
I'd buy that
that would be awesome
I remember they used to put out calendars with their best pictures from the past year. I might be wrong, but I recall they used to do that...
I would totally buy a calendar from these guys
That chapel was stunning. Thank you for sharing 🙏

Sign at 10:02 say: dont spit on the floor. (In a really old dialect)
Edit: oh lol they already translated it. Lower part is indeed old-dutch.
Or, as they say in Afrikaans, "moenie op die grond spoeg nie".
@@Visionery1 ja
Oh them priests did plenty of spitting, the ones that didn't swallow!
I'm Belgian (Antwerp) and i dare say it's more akin to Flemish as opposed to Dutch in it's dialect.
@@dudemetslagroom8065amai, u heeft waarschijnlijk gelijk :)
it's honestly VERY impressive to see how preserved everything in the chapel looks. it's almost as if it was never abandoned in the first place!
