Remember to always try to keep that amp ground wire (and any other ground wire, ftm) as short as possible, along with the length of the power wire before the fuse near the battery, and to scrape off any paint that might exist where you connect the ground to, to give it a true metal-to-metal contact connection. Another thing, if u STILL don't have that amp secured down, I suggest you do so, even if u use only one screw/bolt, it's still better than free-floating. You could keep it a quick access/release by using a 1/4-20 bolt from the bottom, use a rubber washer between the bolt head and the truck body, and one between body & amp, to mitigate the grounding factor directly to amp. Use a wingnut for that fastener up above, securing the amp down. Easy on and off that way. The risk of fire in an accident, and damage to the amp from jostling around when unsecured is not worth the risk. Once you have it dialed in, there isnt really any need for quick access, unless you're constantly tweaking it for some reason.
How has this setup worked out for you since posting this? Anything that u would do differently, if doing it from scratch, again? Thanks for sharing. Aloha

I just installed the same HU in the same truck... I used the brackets off the factory radio, a single din pocket thing (optional but covers up some more of the uglyness and should come with crutchfield order) and I had to take off a metal sleeve around the radio by pulling 2 tabs and sliding it off. Once that is off, you can pop off the rectangular plastic trim and it fits in the double din popout perfectly... I noticed yours is angled towards the passenger side a bit

That blue wire they didn't hook up on the radio harness is the rem. Wire use that NOT the 12v outlet, & make sure you got 100% OFC pure copper cable NOT CCA aluminum wire on that all could be a bad time. Very nice equipment though! Can't go wrong with jbl!

I have a blue tooth radio similar to yours, no big screen or anything just a simple one, so from I understand I don’t need that amp? Also I purchased everything through crutchfield as well and brought the ready wired harness

Where did you get that Power and Ground Wire ? What brand ? I assume it's just order by length and AWG ?

It’s a kit from crutchfield I received 4awg plenty of it for a truck so it should be pretty universal trim to fit
