    Been manually key framing zooms and ease in/out this whole time. Can't believe I overlooked this feature for so long.

    Nice tutorial! I'll have to check out your other ones, I'm learning to use resolve for motorcycle videos.
    One thought though, a solid object image would have shown more of the zoom and pan. Thanks though! Super helpful 👍

    A nice video explaining the various aspects of the Dynamic Zoom feature. I hadn't realized you can use it to also pan.
    Unfortunately for me (using version 18.6.6), DZ has too many anomalies to make it practical to use. Scrubbing or single stepping the timeline across a clip with DZ doesn't show the zoom effect (only PLAY works). Also, if the clip has any other effects requiring rendering, the rendering must complete before the preview will play correctly. And as another poster mentioned, the outline boxes are not the correct sizes if the Timeline Proxy Resolution is not set to FULL.
    In addition, it would be nice if the DZ Inspector window would have zoom & position control values for each of the start/stop boxes so as to be able to fine tune the settings (and not having to always rely on eyeballing the boxes' locations). And like others have voiced, a way to quickly match the settings of one box with the other would be handy.
    Hoping a version in the near future might address these issues.

    Super helpful content. Do you know if there is a way to know what % a dynamic zoom ended on so you could use that value for the next clip and be exactly the same?

    Great tutorial. I just published my 5th video. I already use Dynamic Zoom but I will use some of the new things I learned about Dynamic Zoom in my 6th video. Also, the effect for some of the sections would have been more visible using a static image like a landscape. But the tutorial is great and I learned some new things.
    How do you shift a video to the left or right while bringing in a text box to display the text box from the side?

    Would you know how to match the red and green boxes so I can split clip in two; then 1st half of clip zoom/pan right then last half of clip pull ouy and zoom left and out of frame ? I'm in DRS 17 and the clip inspector lacls the cordinates of the red and green boxes ? Many thanks, I don't like adjustment layers method.

    Is there a button to make the red outline (end frame) to match the green outline (start frame) automatically (or visa versa) ? In the video Chris at 4:18 manually made this adjustment using his mouse, but it wasn't exact and it wasn't quick. I've found myself needed such a button. I'm new to DR, so there's probably a better way for me to accomplish the same thing. Just curious.

    Great tutorial. I am new in Davinci Resolve and I struggle with one thing. Can you please tell me is there any way to preview played and edited modes at the same time? SO I can see rect frames and adjust them on one window seeing zoomed area preview in given time frame in second? It would make my life much easier but so far I spent weeks and didnt find any solution for this one. Btw. I own the paid Davinci version if that matters

    In Dynamic Zoom say in a 7 second zoom in, how can I create about 2 seconds of a still frame at the end of the zoom maintaining the same aspect of the final image at the end of the zoom? So there will be 5 seconds of motion then 2 seconds of a still at the end.

    So I shoot in 4k. Let's say I have a bullet or shell casing in my scene .I want a tighter shot into the frame but dont want black around the frame .So I would crop to 1920x1080. I'm coming from Vegas pro using pan crop . I do want a zoom in. I just want to cut to the tighter shot. Any thoughts?

    I have a question: is there any way to copy this dynamic zoom pan I made for one clip and paste it into another?
    When I edit my videos, I make a lot of cuts and apply dynamic zoom to all of them, but I need to configure the panning of each one manually. If there was a way to copy this configuration and replicate it in other clips, it would help me a lot.

    • @jeffersonbressani
      @jeffersonbressani 5 місяців тому

      Update: while thinking about this question I had an idea that is not exactly what I wanted but it will solve my problem: if I apply dynamic zoom and configure the pan box before I make the cuts all the cuts will follow the configuration of the first clip. This way, simply apply the zoom effect before cutting so that the work is automatically replicated in all clips afterwards.

    Not sure what I'm doing wrong, but my dynamic zoom is behaving very strangely. When I move the in / out boxes, it moves the ENTIRE frame, so then I end up with the clip being cropped so that you see the black box all around it and then it zooms in our out. I hope my description makes sense.

    So I have a dynamic zoom (out) for a clip. But, due to the parts of the video that I have to keep in frame, there are black boxes on each side of the clip. These boxes grow/shrink as the dynamic zoom occurs. Does anyone know how to turn these white? - The background of the clip is solid white and I'd like it to match.

    I must be doing something wrong because it seems like this is ruining everything. It is unclear weather the red box or green box starts or finishes my zoom, & its just throwing the whole frame off somewhere. I have the whole frame selected in red, & then a smaller area in green. I assume either it would start or finish with the whole frame showing, but it does neither. Then I figured it would start or finish zoomed where I have the green box, & it does neither, it throws it off to the side based on some relation between the center of the red & green boxes. There are no other zooms or x/y adjustments on the clip.
    FIXED: Having a timeline proxy resolution of quarter was making the values the red & green box represented all out of whack. Full resolution proxy fixed it.

    • @ChrisTutorialsYT
      @ChrisTutorialsYT  Рік тому

      Keyframing ua-cam.com/video/Y3y9_pCslPw/v-deo.html for smoothing you'll want to look into bezier curves to ease in and ease out (after setting keyframes in the inspector, you can expand the curves in the timeline to set easing. Its a riny icon on the right side of a keyframed clip in the timeline). Theres a smart / auto zoom feature that has ease in and out as a menu drop down option. Hope that helps a bit

    I'll be honest, it's giving me problems. It works just fine on a single clip, but trying to then click on other clips/elements (png's, specifically) and going back to transform, it erases the dynamic zoom on the background clip.

    is there a way to pan across multiple clips/keyframes ? I can pan and zoom but only up till the end of a clip, then it resets. How can i get a pan to work across multiple clips?

    • @VideoByPatrick
      @VideoByPatrick 2 роки тому

      Adjustment layer above clip that you can expand Dynamic Zoom to cover all the clips below it. In my need, I want to use several dynamic zooms in the same clip such as zoom/pan right then zoom out and pan left out of frame. If I try and match the red and green box I can get close to meeting my needs but I'd rather have the clip inspector give me the exact coordinates of red and green box but in 17 DRS such info is missing while in Dynamic Zoom Tool.

    I think are more convenient way is to use an adjustment clip and pop the dynamic zoom on this. No need for cutting the original clip then and you can easily adjust the timing.

    • @IDKOKIDK
      @IDKOKIDK 2 роки тому

      adjustment clip is timeline resolution, yes? So if you zoom it it becomes pixilated. but if you were using 4k video on 1080P timeline and used dynamic zoom it would not pixilate the same

    • @bratwurstmeister1
      @bratwurstmeister1 2 роки тому

      @@IDKOKIDK You are right! Didn't realise it. Just tried it and yes, it's a difference whether you zoom into the clip or use an adjustment clip with zoom. I like the convenience to move the adjustment clip around to a different position in the timeline, make it short or longer. Changing cuts is a little more effort. However knowing the limitations of the adjustment clip is important. Thanks for pointing out.

    sorry, but using smoke is extremely useless to see the zoom effects. what we do not see in your presentation is, that the dynamic zoom from davinci resolve does not work properly. zoom and pan do not correspond. To peform an exact and and smooth zoom the user has to realize it with the fusion page. if you will repeat your video with a foto of buildings you immediately will see, what i'm meaning.
