We TCM fans miss Robert. It's not the same without him. 🌹

TCM is awful now. All opinion and blather and most of the films in prime time are from the 60s 70s 80s and later! It’s sad. Robert would not have approved but they try to evoke his name. 😧

Wow!! This is fabulous. What a find. Thank you so much, #CCLied!! I adored this man and I know he was a fan of Joan’s. He said once on TCM that Joan Crawford stole Grand Hotel from Garbo. He was such a reasonable and balanced journalist, host, and film historian- a Gold Standard. We won’t see the likes of him again. #justiceforjoancrawford

B.D. slays me, going on about how smothered she was because her mother was controlling her life....until you do the math and realize the period she was talking about she was 15, dating AND wanting to marry a man 14 years older than she was! But then Bette gave permission, paid for the lavish wedding AND was supporting them financially while B.D. was writing her book! What are you complaining about?!?!?! I saw her in an interview and she said that her mother had never abused her but she just wanted everyone to know how absurd her mother was.

Intelligent observations. Could do with more of this on the comments sections of everything nowadays. RO not giving opnions and mentioning where he never met the people involved. Making a buck exactly!!!

Absolutely loved Robert Osborne! Apart from his vast knowledge of all these things there was something just so warm and effusive about him.....
The whole tone he set for the entire channel with his heart and personality is unmatched.

Robert Osborne was such a class act, he just oozed sophistication and kindness. He was actually hired by Lucille Ball as one of the Desilu players back in the day, and they remained friends. No wonder Mr. Osborne is such class act.
To me, Robert Osborne is like a rose and champagne. He just represents the romance of classic Hollywood so well. And he’s the type that sees things through rose colored glasses, the way they were meant to be seen when discussing Hollywood. And he always gives people the benefit of the doubt. He always looks at things with good understanding, and a kind heart. I really miss him. He was the last of a kind. One of a kind, and part of a great generation. They don’t make them like him anymore. Rest in peace, Mr. Osborne!

Who actually _knew_ what kind of father Bing Crosby was? Bing was a component of the "Greatest Generation," most of whom actually instilled *character* in their offspring. Many (too many) of their progeny, however, were spoiled by the Dr. Spock mindset, and confused old-fashioned _discipline_ with "child abuse." ["Spare the rod and spoil the child."]
