SHE WAS 93 HERE! WOW! STILL A GREAT SENSE OF HUMOUR AND A HUMBLE AND BEAUTIFUL LADY!
I know this in a reply to the old comment, from 6 years ago... but:
93, not only that...
I wish I would live to that age now (not gonna happen), but also speak like that and have that kind of sharp mind at that age.
Again.... not gonna happen, so it is all amazing to see at this point how amazing she was up to the end.
Two of the greats now gone. Maureen O'hara was always my favorite and Robert Osborne had a Hollywood library between those ears and was such a pleasure to hear him review movies on TCM. RIP to 2 Icons of the industry!
RIP Maureen O'Hara and Robert Osborne. Both amazing gifts to us!
Her looks of course have changed but the lovely Irish lilt in her voice remains.
Bless her heart and may she rest in peace.
I've loved her since I saw THE QUIET MAN as a child. Her autobiography is truly one of the best I've ever read.
I have her autobiography too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm halfway through and from what I read it is indeed wonderful reading. She tells exactly like it is. I also love "The Quiet Man!". That movie's so good!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
R.I.P. both Maureen and Robert are gone.
Rest in Peace to a dear lady and wonderful actress.
This is absolutely emotional... Lovely Maureen! Thanks for posting.
One of my favorite and most famous actresses of all time!!!!
She's the only Hollywood actor remaining that I'd really love to meet and thank for her work. What a lovely, talented woman
She was fabulous. Besides her, I love Sophia Loren...she'd rather cook for her family that make a movie. God bless those real, true, powerful women.
This lady had class I've seen almost all of her movies 🎥 she was great with John Wayne and Haley Mills...... she's ageless
Maureen, was such a marvelous actress; who had the most beautiful red hair and sparkling eyes! I've always loved her movies! (Every time a bell rings, an angel gets it's wings!) Priceless!! She is truly loved and missed by us all! 🍀❤🎥❤🍀
Also, she reminds me so much of my grandmother its insane. Good Irish Catholic woman she is.
R.I.P
My Irish rose who was fiery and witty to the very end
That was actually really great to see!
She DID make me tear up and laugh too!
Love, love, love her and her work. Gorgeous woman, fiery accent, amazing actress.
Its so wonderful to see her but also hard to see her frailness but her mind for her age seems very good. God bless her.
What a great lady. God broke the mold after He made her.
Miracle on 34th Street, The Quiet man, she was undeniably magic.....a real movie star.
Everytime I hear the Lerner and Loewe ballad "Heather On The Hill", I think of Maureen O'Hara because she sang a terrific performance of the song on TV.
Amazing, amazing lady. Truly inspirational.
She is still charming and lovely though frail. She was beautiful magic on film, and I love so many of her movies. Her modesty and her religious belief makes me think she is a peaceful and beautiful woman inside as well as outside.
Dear lady!
God bless you to Maureen :) .
Oh God, bless her! She is too sweet, and so, so funny! Really, who knew she was that funny!? She is adorably precious and a national treasure. She brought tears to my eyes, and made laugh and smile very brightly! I really wish I could've been at the TCM festival. Any chance you will ever bring it to Canada? God bless Maureen O'Hara, thank you for your beautiful work lovely lady! :)
She makes me proud to be Irish :) She also inspires me to become an actress. As far as I know, Maureen was the only Irish actress in Hollywood during the golden years, and that makes her extra special :)
Darlin' I'm proud to be Irish too, and I'M Italian!!! go figure....
Armand Catenaro half Irish and half Italian(half n, half)
Martina Murray What that means being half irish and half itallian means they got a double dose of good lovin, good cookin, good looks, hellz of a temper, and dont back down from a fight.
Maureen O'Sullivan, Tarzan's Jane.
A Krenwinkle The best Jane of all time.
They are both gone now. RIP.
She was the best Esmeralda of all in the 1939 'Hunchback of Notre Dame.' "She gave me water." Quasimodo's line makes me cry...
I have the Blu-ray of this movie which I have not watched. Blu-ray.com calls it a stunning transfer, so I am off to the home theater to blow it on to the 120" screen. Best regards to Maureen O'Hara.
Loved her to pieces ❤
Wonderful!
🎥🍿💖She was in The Rare Breed with Jimmy Stewart, Haley Mills, & Brain Keith. With Brain Keith in The Deadly Companions . She starred with John Wayne in The Quiet Man , Rio Grande, Big Jake , and McClintock. She played with Henry Fonda in SPENSERS MOUNTAIN ( just like Waltons Mountain). To name a few of her movies !!! 💖💖💖💖💖💖💖 🎥 🍿🎥🍿🎥🍿🎥🍿🎥🍿🎥🍿
Loved her...named my daughter after her.
In her day my goodness she was talented and beautiful in the truest sense of the word ..not like todays actresses whose beauty is so artificial
Wow!
great person with heart rip
Now that she is in. Heaven. She is. Young. Healthy and. Her beauty. Is. More so than on. Earth. R i p
Yes she sounded a fine women and actress as well. Old age with her great wealth is made that bit easier which can buy comfort and that is fine. God Bless us all and in particular the poor and lonely
The Golden Age of Hollywood, when movie stars were really stars.

Dumb kid. No offence ...
A not CE person
Maureen O'Hara, Greer Garson and Olivia DeHavilland were NOT on the list of the 25 greatest actresses of all time. So much for BOGUS lists.
One of the truly great people of our time. So humble and yet feisty! And she gave the sign of the cross, blessing everyone who came to see her.
Michael Eggleston
It's important to laugh and applaud, but it's also important to watch and listen. And I did all of them. Thank you, Maureen!
How do you not adore this woman?
I got to meet Ms O'Hara on her 93rd birthday in 2015 in Boise, ID. What a great lady and we talked about sharing the same birthday and she thought that was great. I loved this lady and she will be greatly missed.
I can't wait to meet Maureen in Heaven. Classy and elegant and strong and steadfast and gorgeous as my own Irish/Scot mother who is 88 now and slipping from us to cross through the veil. God bless her memory and the wonderful entertainment and morals she left us with. Slainte agus Dia duit!
What a timeless beauty and actress. Thanks for sharing. I loved How Green Was My Valley but I believe I Loved her best with John Wayne.
Maureen O'Hara arguably the most beautiful Red-Head who has ever graced God's green Earth. She was absolutely gorgeous and John Wayne was the luckiest man in the World to have her undying affection and friendship.
I've just finished watching ' How green was my valley ' again, and wept prodigiously throughout.
Ms. O'Hara starred in the film, and she was oh so achingly beautiful. At one point I found her smile so captivating that I froze the picture and just sat staring at it.
Her beauty was quite dazzling.
A great talented Actress, and a wonderful Lady. R.I.P. Maureen O'Hara X
This was one of my best moments of all the TCMFF's that I attended, sitting , listening so fortunate, Roberts gone now too passing away today 3/6 together again
That lady.....MAN!.........She was,is,and will be a legend of the silver screen.
God bless Maureen O'Hara. Obviously, a woman of great faith. She gave us a life time of quality work and according to her she had nothing but fun giving it to us. Love you Maureen and pray that Oscar will give you the credit you are due before it is too late.
The Academy Board Of Governors finally snapped and awarded Maureen an honorary Oscar. WELL DESERVED!!!
OMG she is still going. God bless her Irish heart and experiences. One of the few still around from the great day of Hollywood.
Lovely to see this lovely lady and great actress. Very funny in parts, and a bit sad too, but wonderful that she is still hanging in there. Love her.
I wish I was there to see her
Maureen O'Hara

So Much Given
Truely a beautiful beautiful woman inside and out. GOD BLESS YOU my dear.
Wow, what a sweet lady! I think I heard someone yelling "Sláinte" at the end there.
A TRUE IRISH BEAUTY GOD BLESS HER R.I.P
What a legend. Why hasn't she gotten an Honorary Oscar yet? In her book, she once asked Roddy McDowall that and he said that she would never get recognition from Hollywood by Hollywood, and I think its due to John Ford, but honestly, it's time, don't you think?
Lo and behold- she finally gets an Honorary Oscar! Thank you Robert Osbourne and the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences. It's damn time!
I so wish I knew Osborne. He and I are on the same page on things having to do with movies. I wouldn't want to know him only because he's famous. He and I would have a lot to talk about. I'm watching his presentation of Paul Robeson in a movie directed by one of the Korda's.
Amazing.
I truly love her,like family.
I LOVE that woman! In my doctoral work, we had a colloquium on Death and Suffering in World Religions. Weekly movies, we watched How Green...fabulous. shadowlands, English version, The Doctor...good times.
What a woman! They don't make 'em like her anymore! A priceless, national treasure - that's one thing anyone can say about Maureen O'Hara. A class act. We can all learn from her about how special life is by her example.
RIP, dear Robert.
Amazing woman
Yes..she is gorgeous..but hollywood dont give oscars for beauty.
RIP :(
Legend!
2 things: I like that at 93, her hair appears pretty full and with an extensive career, she needs an Honorary Oscar.
you got your wish. she's getting one in november
R.I.P MAUREEN.
She was such a beauty, and now it's sad she died (but not the saddest, she died peacefully in her sleep, unlike Whitney Houston who died painfully of drugs and drowning in her bathtub).
i hope you don,t think Whitney Houston was a bad person because of her mental health difficulties(drug addiction in her case was caused by not being able to cope with extreme fame).
Of course not. Whitney was a great person, but it's just that Maureen did not have to deal with the same thing Whitney did.
+Avi Greene yes its true that the paparazzi and photographers were not as intrusive in the 30,s to 50,s era as they are in more recent times,as far as i know.
Avi, what does this interview have to do with Whitney Houston, a singer? Whitney's oldest brother started her on drugs! Maureen, was a child actress, and a great one! She was an excellent actress period! You don't know what type of life that she led; do you? There is no comparison!
I know, but I think they've both left huge legacies, only Maureen O'Hara died much more peacefully, compared to Whitney Houston who was in more pain than Maureen.
