    Marty! How did you do that??? I have never seen anyone just randomly fall out of a canoe like you did. The look on your face was priceless. I had coffee coming out of my nose 🤣
    You probably couldn’t have picked two nicer guys to do that trip with. I really enjoy their channels immensely. Did Xander get a new canoe? That polar plunge looked very invigorating. 👍🏻

    Looks like you had a ball! Fantastic that you've worked your way to be able to enjoy great gear in the kinds of places that was it meant to be used! I take back what I said on Instagram about it not being true "winter camping"; being out in the cold and wet is harder than being in the dry and cold any day! Way to go Marty 🤘🙂

    Awesome video! I love seeing people push the limits of what's possible on a canoe trip, especially weather wise. Really makes me want to get to this level in the future!
    Cheers! 👍

    Sooooo jealous right now! Paddling in December AND whitewater! Time to save up for a dry suit! Couple questions Marty ... When you reached back for the camera and dumped is the smaller canoe a little less stable? Is almost like like relearning to paddle dropping to one of that size? And finally.. you mentioned the Batiscan a couple of times. Do you feel that experience is slightly hampering your abilities on new adventures out of fear or is that after that experience it's ingrained in you mentally not risk anything anymore? Great video, thanks for sharing!

    • @martymorissette
      @martymorissette  Рік тому +2

      Oh yeah the small canoes are way less stable, more pronounced rocker and narrower! Defenitly takes a few days to get used to them… and then you go smaller to oa 9 or 11 footer and it’s even worst! Haha but so fun! And no the Batiscan didn’t scare me from white water just made me way smarter! Haha the other thing to is when I go out with my buddy Mo, because he’s way more experience and better that I am at it, whith his coaching I can do even bigger stuff! But the cold water and running day light was enough to keep us on the conservative side for sure. But I would run all those rapids not in December :) and

    Looks like a great trip. When you did the Knorr Sidekicks, many are supposed to have milk added. Did you just use water or did you add some powdered milk equivalent to what was needed.

    I have all that same amok gear and I have ur same winter light pad too. I want to get the thermarest pad chair but I didn't think it wud fit the amok winter light pad. What size of thermarest chair do I need for the amok pad ? The amok is 25.5 inches wide.
