@@Dimitripersson no man i mean legit kudo's to you i played new world for bout 500 + hours and im gonna fresh start too , take my time and do some side things ect level diffrent weapons and focus more on gathering
@@SF_Savitar hehe okay. The internet has made me a pessimist :D Happy to hear you are going to play fresh as well. Really hope it wont just get over run, by dull companies wanting to dominate a server.
For me it is a tough decision, as I really like the hatchet for leveling. However, the Greatsword would definitely be my melee choice. For ranged it would hands down be a bow. Great for tagging and now that you don't need arrows it is really handy to have. At launch I hated dealing with needing arrows and carrying the weight of the arrows. All that is wiped away so I couldn't imagine not having a bow for PvE leveling when competing for mobs.
@@kageshiOP I mean it depends. If all you are doing is aggroing mobs to you to cut them down with the greatsword then there is no need for better arrows as no arrow does just find pulling. But making arrows is an easy way to level engineering and on most servers aren't profitable to sell at low tiers so if you got them they don't take weight so might as well use what you make or come across.
Im at 60 and well geared on the builds im interested in and finding im only doing elite chest runs and the odd mutated dungeon. TBH endgame is in dire need of content so i wont be rushing to 60 to just face the same problem over again.
@Savitar Don't take this the wrong way, but why would you want to do this on a fresh start server? To me there would be so many downsides to this approach and no upside. From my understanding the biggest advantage to the fresh start server is to give players the opportunity to help their factions fight for territory. Which on existing servers feels futile for many. In order to do that you have to keep up with the masses, otherwise your going to get left behind and have that issue still. Not to mention adding in more ore competition, if you want to slow down and mine then from my experience the competition for that stuff is far less then what it was. Like the OP stated, he just runs chest runs and mutated dungeons. There aren't many geared people that go out and spend hours mining iron ore. If you want to just slow down and enjoy the game, I would recommend joining an existing server. With progressing as a duo have one of you spec to heal and the other spec to tankish build so you can easily fill expeditions.
One character running hatchet and great sword and a second running blunderbuss and great sword. Both are very good and I would say hatchet is a little better. The great sword is just kickass right now and works well as a combo. With blunderbuss I think its weaker than hatchet in a combo but mine is not fully maxed yet. Of course hatchet and great axe is probably the best of the three combos I have mentioned. Extremely popular for some time now. I want to try bow/spear and musket/rapier once I get the chance as well.
I really want to level a healer. Do you think Life Staff/ Void Gauntlet is doable solo leveling? I don't have friends that play this lol. But will prob do each dungeon maybe 1-3 times while questing
Yes it's definitely doable and strong. However the build will need to differ from the standard healer build. You will need to focus heavily on void blade build for leveling, it's gonna give you the best capacities for that. And after you leveled, you can easily swap your build for healing.
@@SF_Savitar yeah i was also planning on gs\bow, was thinking maybe hatchet bow could be fun but for fresh start the gs has an insane legendary(Blade of the 19th) u can easily get with quest so its probably easier to start with. I'm gonna try to get some pvp gear from arena after that could be solid starter.
also someone told me to try out Rapier + ice Gauntlet with the ice or frost gem w/e its called into the rapier so rapier will convert to ice dmg what u think about that ? for pve/openworld grind
You could slot an amber gem in the bow and stack focus, but you would definitely lose some of the DPS from the Bow doing that. I would not recommend stat splitting with lower level gear and limited attribute points. That being said, doing this would give you faster queue times for expeditions as I am sure finding healers that aren't already pocket healing for a group is going to be an issue. Wonder how easy at the start it would be to find tier II cut flawed amber gem. That might be an issue in and of itself.
word on the street is that bow is getting a nerf soon and that musket is getting buffed. might check into it all before deciding, i was considering it as well
@@QuantumFlux_22 For me the bow nerf is more of a buff when it takes affected. the charged attack being .33 and the explosive arrow getting increase is great
dont u miss like the dmg modifier from arrows if you dont use arrows with a bow, im new to NW was wondering when u said you dont need arrows with a bow. this vid helped me allot ty! im going either Rapier(main melee) with Bow or Musket for range. or maybe hatchet to movement seems pretty Juicy
I love hatchet. Not Greataxe (That explaines where I was I greataxe guy kept catching up to me) I preffer greatesword with axe or sword and shield even do sword and shield has no damage compared to GS.
This is a great video man, but even though the newest weapons are the best weapons, I doubt that more than 3% of the players who use those weapons will use them efficiently. I prefer fast weapons such as the rapier like you discussed, because I focus on PVE to level not PVP. The hatchet, spear and rapier are absolutely devastating for trash mobs 1 to 60. If you're going dex, I don't see the point of even having a ranged weapon. It's just they waste the time to tag mobs with a ranged weapon.
its for faster progression. If you have a quest that needs killing 10 wolfs and a ton of people are there its going to be faster just to tag the mobs with a ranged weapon instead of fighting with other players.
so much going on today in gaming, 2nd phase of wow's prepatch for Dragon flight, Lotro is releasing a mini expansion today ( love Lotro been playing for over 10 years. ) and New world is drawing me back to the game..I have to say after playing mainly wow with other games on the side since 2007 I have lost interest in wow, played the Dragon flight Beta for a little while and meh..seriously it just isn't what I'm looking for anymore, New World is looking more and more like it's gonna be where I will be spending a lot more time.
No love for mages??? Firestaff all points on flamethrower side + Rapier all points on reposte side for early game mobility. All INT, then 50 con for potion increase with rest in INT once you get over 150 attribute points. Level Ice gauntlet later.
I like ice/void. Pull as much as possible, storm, void blade. If mana is ever a concern chug a mana pot...mana food helps. But I don't have mana issues. I will swap to fire when fighting corruption areas. Honestly love it, find it very fast and I love the challenge of aoe pulls.
@@PreacherDPT Definitely a non-meta build where you can easily find gear while leveling. I'm a huge fan of Spear/Bow, but have always wanted to focus mage-leveling.
I’m currently leveling a fire / ice mage as well. I love the fighting style. The only downside so far at level 30 is that it’s extremely hard to find good gear from drops or rewards. When you’re melee they are throwing new gear at you almost every quest it seems. You go ages without getting anything for a mage build.

How about Bow and SnS ? Go all dex.. it's less damage than rapier, but you gain some defence. I m talking strictly PVE solo point of view....
what about any magic builds ? are they not good in new world. New player here and I do play mage class on other MMOs
Berserker Hatchet with Blunderbuss (full Splitting Grenade, full Azoth Shrapnel Blast, and Grappling Shot) is bonkers.
