Now, I get that there was a tremendous pressure on Imran and since he had to make tough economic choices from early on given the state of the economy he inherited, it wouldn't have made sense for him to not take the politically expedient route and to burden himself with more unpopular decisions, especially ones that were easily avoidable and not directly related to the economy itself and had more to do with politics, especially religious politics. Even though it felt like a gut punch, the choice he made regarding atif Mian at the end still exculpates him of the charge of bigotry against ahmadis in my view, given the circumstances he faced at the time.

Brilliant suggestions for Pakistan: 1- State capacity: strong and professional leadership and delegation of authority. 2-Environment: Harmony among people for trade and own capacity building in order to attract investments. 3-Education and skills development. Every government prefers shortcuts like foreign aids to artificially stabilize the economy, and the current government is not doing anything different. Environment change is a big threat to current fundamentalists who hold the country's policies and receives funds for these activities. Education and skills are again the big threat to traditional politics and fundamentalists. Therefore, there seems no chance of real economic growth.

In simple words, you take loans and then instead starting any business to earn money and then return that loan, you buy a car , build your home and then after some year you don't have money to return that loan . To return that loan you then get another loan, this is called debt trap

Pakistani state have no capacity to make itself export oriented economy. Simply our company have no resources,capabilities and ideas to produce items which can make impact on international market. Also we have no capacity to provide energy to households, so to maximize exports we will need more energy which we cant because of shortage and also the outdated system. Also the tax collection is low because of large scale poverty, complication,flaws in revenue collection system, outdated technology, no documentation of businesses, corruption of collection officers. In short we have no ways of revenue generation. Along that we are under the burden of defense expenditure, massive poverty, payment of loans and population of 220 million people making the country hell and worse to live. Sharif,Zardari,Imran,generals all are to be blamed because all are and were short sighted and act only to save the interest of only there own and there peers. So we will be forever under the debt trap and dependent of big powers.

Now, I get that there was a tremendous pressure on Imran and since he had to make tough economic choices from early on given the state of the economy he inherited, it wouldn't have made sense for him to not take the politically expedient route and to burden himself with more unpopular decisions, especially ones that were easily avoidable and not directly related to the economy itself and had more to do with politics, especially religious politics. Even though it felt like a gut punch, the choice he made regarding atif Mian at the end still exculpates him of the charge of bigotry against ahmadis in my view, given the circumstances he faced at the time.

This guy said a very key point here. You got the point right? Use the money you borrowed on project that will generate money which will help to return the borrowed money and will keep generating money. But if you use that money on something that will not generate money and you also dont have other that much permanent resources to pay off your loan you are doomed. This is that simple. So PTI government hired as finance adviser Abdul Hafeez Sheikh the same guy who served in PPP government as a finance minister and obviously country went under more debt then so I dont understand why IK would hire the same person again.

1- State capacity: strong and professional leadership and delegation of authority.
2-Environment: Harmony among people for trade and own capacity building in order to attract investments.
3-Education and skills development.
Every government prefers shortcuts like foreign aids to artificially stabilize the economy, and the current government is not doing anything different.
Environment change is a big threat to current fundamentalists who hold the country's policies and receives funds for these activities.
Education and skills are again the big threat to traditional politics and fundamentalists.
Therefore, there seems no chance of real economic growth.

What a pragmatic and viable approach to our problems. I feel sad that people of such calibre have been rejected by myopic decision makers. USA invited immigrants from worldwide to come and build it to be a super power. As long they were competent they rose up to levels in their respective professions, regardless of their ethnic and religious backgrounds. We need to honour such professionals and rise up from petty religious differences.

Yes, that's the point... It's easy to suggest anything but practical are difficult. India has the skills. Pakistan has 30,000 to 40,000 and Pakistan can't export any while India export every one they produce.

In simple words, you take loans and then instead starting any business to earn money and then return that loan, you buy a car , build your home and then after some year you don't have money to return that loan . To return that loan you then get another loan, this is called debt trap

Such an humble and intelligent person. I have heard that he studied ahmadiyyat for many years before accepting it.
Pakistani state have no capacity to make itself export oriented economy. Simply our company have no resources,capabilities and ideas to produce items which can make impact on international market. Also we have no capacity to provide energy to households, so to maximize exports we will need more energy which we cant because of shortage and also the outdated system. Also the tax collection is low because of large scale poverty, complication,flaws in revenue collection system, outdated technology, no documentation of businesses, corruption of collection officers. In short we have no ways of revenue generation. Along that we are under the burden of defense expenditure, massive poverty, payment of loans and population of 220 million people making the country hell and worse to live. Sharif,Zardari,Imran,generals all are to be blamed because all are and were short sighted and act only to save the interest of only there own and there peers. So we will be forever under the debt trap and dependent of big powers.
