Yay! No more need to worry about skips or scratches if you have it on VHS! Everything else is better as a digital download if you really want high quality stuff. Forget DVDs..
I've been doing this for several years, I have never bought a single DVD. I still do it today and rent brand new movies with my free library card. :D I never had any problems finding random VCR tapes to record on, yeah!
Quick Start Guide: (1. Plug the VCR audio/video wires to the TV, set the TV to INPUT or VIDEO. (2. Then grab your DVD player and connect it to the VCR's input using another set of (yellow, white, & red) wires. (3. Make sure the VCR is set to INPUT or VIDEO, just like with the TV. (4. If the DVD player is powered on, you should see it on the TV display. If not, then go back a few steps. (5. Insert your DVD that you want to (illegally) copy, then insert a tape inside the VCR for making the copy. (6. Press the ''PLAY'' button on your DVD player, then press the ''RECORD'' button on your VCR. Thank you for asking, I was glad to help, have a nice day! :)
Hey Nathan, could you tell me how to do this with an external VCR while using an LCD flat screen to play the DVD? I can't find a tutorial on that anywhere and it would be greatly appreciated!
i did this on a plasma tv and it didnt work. I have an external vcr and bluray player. I put the tape in, pressed play on the dvd and then pressed record. then after i stopped recording, i went to play the tape and it said no signal. do i need an analouge tv to do it?
Hi, I have an external vhs player and an external dvd player connected to a tv. I want to copy dvd's to vhs like you did in this video, but I'm not sure i can. I have to have my vhs and dvd player set to different channels for them to be able to play. I think the dvd player has to be on channel 4 and the vhs has to be on channel 5. When i have the dvd and vhs player both on the tv goes crazy and has weird lines and stuff. What can i do?
hate to comment on such an old video but I'm trying to do this , specifically to make reproduction vhs tapes of modern horror movies for my vhs collection. my vcr is external though, can I still do this?
Yes. Just plug in the yellow, white, and red cables of the DVD player, into the ones of the VCR. They should be in the front, or in the back, where it says "IN", depending on the model. You'll have to switch around on the channels of the VCR, while the DVD player is on, to see which one it's coming from. (The channel/source)
Please help! My problem is that i connected my DVD player straight to VCR through RCA cables... I recorded and nothing was on the tape... Otherwise I can't do it because I have NO RCA OUTs IN MY PLASMA TV...
Where do I plug the dvd player in on the TV? I'm assuming that I should be using an older dvd player since the newer ones have HDMI ports and those TVs obviously don't support HDMI.
Yeah i have 1, Is there a way to Trim it because if i were to do this i would like to be able to Trim it so i can make my Movies if i ever do this into how i would like to like maybe the Newer Disney Films & such and maybe have the Opening Previews Trimed & the Movie itself if you get what i'm saying.
thank you - I want to transfer a DVD onto a VHS) weird aye - but I want to try something out so hopefully your tips will help me to do it. Here's hoping
Hi, do u please tell me that is possible records dvd to vhs on VCR/DVD Recorder? Please answer me, because i want to record some dvds to vhs. And i have to buy a combo. Please help me...
I've just tried this with my VHS TV and when I hook up my dvd player to it via scart and press the record button on the TV the playback on the tape is jittery (almost unplayable) and black and white...Any ideas?
I have the same DVD player. When I recorded a movie onto the tape months ago, the colors were fucked up on the tape but not the preview screen. Only some DVDs worked correctly though.
You should have used pre-recorded tapes. That's what I use. Here's a tip if you are going to record on recorded tapes, record where it's blank not where there's still stuff
I just went to do this because VHS is Better than DVD so I can get All My DVD on to VHS. I Don't have to go throw this watch some some thing freed off on you every time I watch some thing on DVD VHS it not going Do Freed off on you.
Does it have to be a Tube TV? Just asking. :) BTW I have plans to put Transformers 2007 and Transformers Revenge Of The Fallen from DVD to VHS. :3 That'll show the world that VHS is back.
I think I need this tv. I have a vcr inside my A/V input and when I try to record anything outside the A/V (TV/Hdmi) input it wont record. Is it possible for me to plugin my DVD inside another input and still use it for "A/V"?
Sorry for such a late reply, i rarely go on youtube nowadays but i guess late is better than never, well anyways from what im understanding (and i might be wrong so if i am please correct me if u even read this) u have your vcr hooked up through the a/v input but ur trying to record live tv or something through hdmi (just guessing that a game console or blueray is what your wanting to record) its actualy a fairly simple hook up procedure, dvd player with a/v inputs or a ant in and ant out (cant rem proper term right now) then basically hook up the vhs player into the secondary dvd input directly on the dvd player
That is because the dvds you used are coded so you cannot record on them:( but on some dvd players, there is a setting that can disable the block. Specifically on the apex/phillips ones.
+EDP2000 Could you explain further. I have a VHS player with record function and an old DVD combo tv. What is necessary to record DVD to VHS, Thanks :)
Ok other than the nostalgia aspect and the limited money making I don't see why people want to do this. Like why use yesterday's inferior technology today? lol I get film photography and all but
Is weird Living in 2019 where everything is almost digital and i want avengers infinity war and the endgame on VHS
Damn, thought I was the only one who was actually interested in VHS tapes this far in.

Get a vcr with a dvd player
Ivan Amodei I'd love to know to
you press record when its playing on the dvd player while it is hooked up to the tv. if you have anymore questions feel free to ask
I needed that tutorial
So do you press record when its playing through your player or do you need audio and video cords hooked up?
i just plugged it in like a normal dvd player since the tv had a built in vhs player
How would I do this with an external vcr and DVD player
i did this on a plasma tv and it didnt work. I have an external vcr and bluray player. I put the tape in, pressed play on the dvd and then pressed record. then after i stopped recording, i went to play the tape and it said no signal. do i need an analouge tv to do it?

Idk if you figured it out already, but you plug it into the VCR input and then connect the VCR to the TV.
I figured it out a couple months ago. It was very self explanatory.
