    dude you are like saving the world with these videos. giving musicians the ability to self release their music on physical media formats is so important, especially cause most of us are broke and replication costs have barely changed over the past few years + it's important to have physical copies for preservation. i'm working on a cd release for an album i'm working on and you're helping me save a ton by being able to make these myself.
    also, i'm a vhs fan and this is like the only video i've seen on how to make these cases! in 2022!!! great work man

    I've been looking into recording newer movies on VHS tapes lately for nostalgic reasons. It's actually pretty easily done tbh, you just need the right adapters for a VHS player to a laptop or anything you have that streams. Right now working on a VHS Edit for The Force Awakens, actually re-editing the film to fit a 4:3 frame (and I'm precise to where I want to make sure I'm having the shots line up with them, would be so much easier if I had an open matte edition lmao)

      @@BrianKishreviews The easiest way to record a VHS to a DVD or DVD to a VHS is to simply buy a DVD/VCR Combo Recorder. With that you simply press a couple of buttons and your recording. Also remember some tapes have copyright protection that will stop you from recording it and some DVDs have copyright protection as well. I wish you luck.

      It drives me crazy that those idiots simply don't get the basics and supply such important information. You can use a paper 18pt ,338g/M2 or up to 400g/M2 and the papersize 11x17 or plain A3 paper. You're welcome!

    • @treescolorswizards
      @treescolorswizards 5 місяців тому +8

      @@trolojolo6178 Leaving this detail out was a HUGE oversight to an otherwise informative video. The VHS template I downloaded needs to be printed on 11x17. 8.5x11 will cut the image off and it won't work. I took mine to a print shop and didn't tell them I needed it to be printed on 11x17 and they SCALED it to "fit" the 8.5x11 paper they used.

    Hello, nice to greet you and I thank you for sharing this tutorial including the templates. Please advise how you configure the printer to print the vhs slipvover in real size, since I have done it but it prints at a smaller size and not at the measure, also ask what type of paper you use both for the labels and for the slipcover or box vhs box

    • @ACrafterinTraining
      @ACrafterinTraining  Рік тому +1

      Hello, glad you enjoyed the tutorial. The printing configuration might vary depending on the printer that will be use. to be honest, the only thing I do, is remove any edges that the printer might create and ensure the option to "print in real size" is selected. But to get to that configuration on my printer, I had to mess up multiple projects until I got it right. Trial and error is key when doing things with specific measurements.
      For the case I used a paper that is known as couche where I live, but I have been informed that is known differently in other areas. Glossy card stock paper is what I found to be similar online. For the labels, I use sticker paper with a semi gloss finish. Hope it helps.

    This is SO well done!
    Not only are the templates really easy to use, but your designs & reformatting of all of the cover elements look amazing!
    What type of sticker paper do you use for the tape labels?
    My only feedback would be: maybe mark your folds/creases on the blank side of the print, so the slipcase looks more seamless in the end!

      Glad you liked it!
      For the sticker paper I use semi glossy premium sticker paper.
      Oh, that is a great idea! I will have to try that for my next project.

      You're very welcome! I used a paper that is known as couche where I live, but I have been informed that is known differently in other areas. Glossy card stock paper is what I found to be similar online. Hope it helps.

    When I try to export for printing it says the clipboard is too big. Any suggestions for how to fix this? I want to make sure it's still the right size when I take it to the printers. Thank you :)

      For this, you'll want to use 11x17 cardstock, preferably 100-110lb thickness for best results.

    Fantastic work!
    Maybe you can help me
    I’m looking for a template design for a Big Box vhs tape
    Essentially this, but bigger in size, and the top flap is also on the bottom
    I know the size of the box I just don’t know how to make a template
    The width of the box is 14.5cm
    The height is 22.9 cm
    The depth of the spine 3.8 cm
    I’d imagine you’d have to print out the front and the back in two sheets perhaps.
    Hope you can help
    Love your vids ❤️
