- Time for another video, in which I’m now gonna show you guys how to record real DVDs (movies, TV shows, etc.) onto actual VHS tapes. I did record this before, but I deleted and remade this because I want to go into more detail on how to do this. Enjoy!

You’re a lifesaver dude, I thought I’d have to get a DVD player and THEN hook that up to the vcr and with the combos I thought you could only go from VHS to DVD, not the other way around. Thanks ✌️

I did this years ago for my nephew as his family had no DVD. I had a Raite brand DVD player with a secret menu that would set the region code to anything and also had Macro vision disable. I just recorded over composite cables with stereo audio.
I’m recording Final Destination 3 onto VHS, because it’s my favorite movie and I’ve always preferred physical media lol. I also need it to complete my collection.

On dvd you can’t rewind it does not save when you put it in again so same
@@pierson.hughes more of an eye sight thing for me basically there are two reasons
The first is that I've got funny eyes and if I notice any small stain crack or what have you on a screen I will stare at it forever and it will annoy the crap out of me but VHS'S aren't as "clean" as dvds so it's much harder to notice
The second is that pixels are hard for me to actually well I don't really know but the point is I can't really stare at them for more than like 2 hours unless it's super high definition or I start to have my mind melt slowly

Then i'll buy the vhs version of that movie online and just keep the cover + sticker.
thank you for showing me! I am a voice actor for comic dubs and animation and will deffinitely use this for my projects to show case them! having them on DVD and VHS will allow me easy portability! plus for if an when i decide for personal use!

Also where do you get your blank tapes and what type you prefer to use.
I was able to record Man of Steel and The Batman to VHS with no problem. Then, I tried Skyfall and The Dark Knight and the playback was scrambled. It was really hit and miss and I found out why. Some dvds are coded that way to prevent recording. I had no idea. I’m a vhs enthusiast and put them on tape just for me and wanted some modern movies on tape. Some of them work and some don’t.
Same problem here but I ran the dark knight through dvd in my pc used a program called dvd decrypt and burned to another disc. Then used burned disc to transfer to vhs no problem. I know it's a hassle but that's how I did it.
You actually are legally allowed to make 1 back up of every movie you purchase so as long as you only copy the movie 1 time and you don't distribute it, it is leagal.

I recorded all of my favorite DVD's unto a high quality SVHS Tapes! Just like the same way I picked up brand new blank Maxell UR 90 Minute Tapes from Fred Meyer and transferring all of my favorite music from CD's and MP3's unto brand new blank Maxell UR 90 Minute Audio Compact Cassette Tapes on September 6th, 2020. Right now! Here I go, I'm pressing the record button on my Sharp 5-Disc, Dual Studio Quality Professional Audio Compact Cassette Tape, iPod Dock, SD card, USB, line input for Phones, Professional Studio Quality Stereo System! I just loaded a brand new blank Maxell UR 90 Minute Compact Cassette into Deck 2, the Playback/Record Deck, and hitting dubbing on the remote!!! The Professional Studio Quality Audio Compact Cassette Tape Deck#2 Door is automatically closing!!!! And the Professional Studio Quality Audio Transfer Begins!!! Unto A Metal Type IV, Studio Quality Audio Compact Cassette Tape!!! I'm transferring all of my favorite music from CD's and especially MP3's unto Professional Studio Quality, Metal Type IV Tapes!!! And my friends asked me to do the same!!! It seems like everyone is trying to transfer all of their important music unto Professional Studio Quality, Metal Type IV Tapes these days!!!!

I backed up a good collection of old low budget horror movies from DVD to VHS, it was very worth, especially after my original DVD collection was stolen a decade ago.

Also remember, recording vhs in SP will give better quality than slow speed.
I looked up online to see if it was possible to buy newer movies as Vhs tapes then I got curious and looked up Joker 2019 VHS tape box wich I thought was cool and thought be cool to have if I did a joker vhs....
Also I honestly prefer using VHS tapes always loved the satisfaction of pushing and ejecting the vhs out of the VHS player 😂😂❤😅

How do I do this with a seperate dvd player and vcr? I'm trying to record some cartoons that I have on dvd, but I'm not exactly sure how to connect a seperate vcr/dvd player and record on my blank tape. I am struggling to find any video/site that makes sense, since I'm new to this. Anything at all would help! :)
I have seperate DVD and VCR. I tried to record from Dvd to Vhs, the picture is perfect but there's no audio on recorded VHS although the audio is fine on Dvd. Please let me know if you have the solution
Heres a dumb question, If the dvd is high quality, Will it actually look like and sound like vhs? Or will it still look pristine?

Preserve DVD onto VHS? Lol! Dvds are a bit more reliable on not getting messed up
DVDs are much more likely to get stolen or broken.

I have a couple of vhs tapas that are kind of ruin so since really enjoy watching movies on vhs.. I plan to record the.movie to a vhs...take the reel and transfer it to the vhs case that has the label. And i think it would be like i still have the original tape. Thats my plan.
When you record a widescreen DVD does it play back as widescreen on the VHS or does it convert it to fullscreen?
It plays as widescreen on the tape, I think.

I did this also. Converted Joker onto Retro 8mm Style format on my PC. Then transferred that onto VHS. It looks like a 70s VHS Film on VHS now. Also did the same with LOGAN onto VHS. It looks very Retro. Luv it.

I buy blanks vhs tapes on thrift stores. I also have a dvd/ vcr combo. And I have a tv that has vhs/dvd combo but the vhs on the tv doesn’t work. I put a dvd movie on the tv and plugged in the dvd/ vcr combo. I’m recording a dvd movie to vhs the movie WAR. I’m gonna start recording movies from Netflix, only movies that are full screen.
Will this work on other vhs/dvd player combos? I have a toshiba SD-V296

@@benblaquiere1377 Well, I'm really sure that you can record some 2010s movies, for example, Bohemian Rhapsody, Captain Marvel, Guardians of the Galaxy, etc. You can download them online on 123movies
Oh. Well, I’ll see about it. I do get it and I can record those movies, even past the VHS era, which is pretty cool to see those new movies on a retro format, but I will think about it.

Recording from a PS2 or a PS1 onto VHS, yes. I remember my brother did that a way long time ago with The Haunted Mansion game for the PS2 and one of the Crash Bandicoot games for the PS1 at the end of one of our home movies.

Uh, I haven’t done it because my brother did most of the work, and that was a long time ago, but I think it might not be that hard as far as I understand.

i used to document and tape ALL of my childhood PS2 gaming. i lost all the tapes years ago but i had so many tapes full of Gran Turismo 3, Kingdom Hearts, Battle for Bikini Bottom, Dark Cloud 2, and Crash Twinsanity gameplay as well as so many other games
You didn’t talk about how you have the cables setup
The cables are set to the VCR and DVD combo itself. It’s all in one thing, not separate.
