- Hey everyone, welcome to Mythology Explained. In today’s video we’re going to discuss the Watchers, a group of 200 fallen angels who unleashed evil into the world, triggering a chain of events that saw the world savaged by giants and later inundated by a world-consuming flood, saw the creation of the first demons (this coming from a more esoteric and marginally-endorsed origin story of how demons came to be), and saw the Watchers fall prey to ruination when the consequences of their actions finally caught up with them in the form of divine retribution.
We’re going to begin by looking at what the Book of Enoch is, then looking at the Dead Sea Scrolls, a cache of religious texts found in the 1940s that forced people to rethink the importance of the Book of Enoch, now shown to be thousands of years old. After that, we’ll go through the story of The Watchers, cover to cover, beginning with their departure from heaven and ending with their incarceration in the abyss.
Lastly, we'll examine an intriguing, lesser-known origin story of demons. While the mainstream belief holds that demons are fallen angels, this alternative account suggests that demons are the restless souls of the Nephilim, a race of fierce giants who were driven to extinction through deadly conflict orchestrated by the machinations of a cunning archangel.
Alright, Let’s get into it.
The Book of Enoch is an ancient Jewish religious work ascribed to Enoch, the great-grandfather of Noah. Although it is not part of the biblical canon for most Christian denominations and is not considered part of the Hebrew Bible, the text has been influential in Christian eschatology and apocryphal literature. Composed during the Second Temple period (around 300 BC to 70 AD), it consists of five distinct sections, each addressing unique themes and purposes.

When I was kid, I actually made a story revolving around angels and demons and made the character named Legion, his creations was after the flood when the nephilim was killed, their souls out of malice melded together and created Legion . The demon of many. Funny now to see this is actual theory. I was to somthing when I was 8. Lol

My first introduction to the concept of nephilims was through the Darksiders-series on PS3 & PS4. In this alternate iteration, the Nephilims were created by mixing the immortal dusts of angels and demons. This was conducted by Lilith (and ordered by Lucifer, if memory serves). Many civilized races suffered extinction, as the Nephilim sought to claim a place for themselves. They decided upon the Third Kingdom (AKA the Kingdom of Man). The First and Second Kingdom were Heaven and Hell respectively. But four nephilim grew sick and tired of their peoples' endless warring, so they betrayed them by seeking out the Charred Council (a sort of bureaucracy with angels and demons filling the seats). These four were then granted immense power, before being instructed to massacre the others. Completing this order of extinction, they became known throughout Creation as the Riders of Apocalypse: War, Death, Strife, and Fury.
It's interesting to see how it differs
from the source material.
The Diablo series is where I first heard it. In that series, the neph are the offspring of angels and demons. Inarius, the Father of Sanctuary (human realm) weakened them with the use of the World Stone after seeing how powerful they were and because of Lilith. Lilith, the Mother of Sanctuary, tried to use their offspring as an army against both the High Heavens and Burning Hells.Eventually, the nephilim would lose their power in each generation which eventually creates the humans in the series.

@@giovannicorraliza4393 God of War does not fully align with Greek mythology either (and many creative freedoms were taken as the series took form). The same can be said for a multitude of rebooted games from countless franchises. Not all of them are good, but there are certainly pearls among them as well. I would take a mythological reboot from any part of the globe over politically saturated disappointments any day of the week.
The videogame market once had to be saved by Japan because the West had made a spectacular mess, and it may well happen again at this rate. And if not Japan, plenty of indie creators will be waiting for a chance to blossom. Politics mainly reflects the detached ideals of some corrupted elites (or at least at this point anyway).
By contrast, mythology incentivizes us to face our inner demons and become better people. The Hero's Journey myth is a story about moral development through surpassing one's current limitations and deepest fears. I'll gladly take that over 'kitty power' and 'rainbows'.

The concept of a heavenly being rebelling against the Hebrew God has it's origins before the Book of Enoch was written, so it's most likely that the writers had Satan in mind, but decided not to include him in the Enochian narrative.

In Sumeria 8 King's ruled in The land of Greece the 12 Olympian gods ruled.

One of the Mountain's is described as dwarfing the other 6 Mountain's within Heaven, Enoch also mention's seeing something identified as Desolation Desert, and Enoch saw from God the Father place in Heaven area, where the location of Hell/Tartarus.
Enoch talked with the 4 Archangel's Gabriel/Michael/Raphael/& Uriel, turns out Raphael is the Jailor over Tartarus.
Gabriel is in charge of Amphibian's & Reptile's not mention bringing Food News to The World when Time has been appointed for when ever the event took place.

The writing that the Watchers/Angels lay with human women and they bore children insinuates that the Watchers/Angels were flesh to begin with and had sexual organs and male or female genders.
The writing that the Watchers taught mankind forbidden knowledge insinuates that Watchers/Angels know evil and are capable of doing evil.
It's claimed that the Watchers/Angels were Fallen and cast out of Heaven but its clearly stated that the Watchers/Angels/Fallen willingly chose to leave Heaven rather than gaving been cast out.
It sounds like Humanity was a science experiment and the Watchers/Lab Assitants broke protocal by directly interacting with and altering the natural evilutionary process of the experiment causing it to be flawed.
1. In one of Enoch's visions, God states that the Watchers were holy and spiritual, which means that they were created immaterial, and afterwards assumed human form in order to copulate.

Me too. I used to believe that if it wasn't in our modern canon, then it must be evil.
