As Salaamu Alaikum! Reading your comments made me reflect on the similarities with my own life. Although I had experienced both the Nation of Islam and the Christian Church as a child when I reached age 15 and 16 my life took a turn for the worst. I realized that I had gotten off track. And at age 16 I had one of my older brothers to tattoo a question mark on my arm because the question in my mind was about my "real purpose" in life. I wanted the Creator to help me see and understand what that was. As a result of several different events three months after my 17th birthday I joined the military and after basis and advanced training I was sent to Europe where I was stationed for nearly two and a half years. Although I was already familiar with the Nation of Islam and Malcolm X I had never read his story. My mother used to say " don't y'all remember when I took y'all to Savior's Day and Malcolm X introduced the Messenger"( when they said the Messenger in the Nation of Islam they meant Elijah Muhammad). So while in Europe I read a wide range of books (a habit my mother started me doing as a young child). Authors like James Baldwin, Langston Huges, George Jackson and Dick Gregory to name a few. But by far the most powerful book that I read until I read the Qur'an was the autobiography of Malcolm X. As you said it help you to discover the real purpose to your life, well I can say the same. I knew since I was a child that I was Muslim by nature. That wasn't the issue for me. But reading Malcolm's autobiography push me into becoming active but becoming active meant I had to become knowledgeable. And I needed to get it straight from the source. I needed to become a serious student of the Qur'an first( my mother gave me my first copy of the Qur'an) so I couldn't be told just anything about Islam or Al-Islam proper by just any body. As ALLAH, the Most High says in HIS Book, "beware of those who will dazzle you with their speak." But one thing that struck me as strange when I informed my mother that I was reading the autobiography of Malcolm X she told me to be careful. And I was puzzled at first by that. But the more I read I realized that she knew it could affect me in a way that could cause me problems as a soldier in the U.S. Military. I went in only 10 years after Muhammad Ali ( who I first met at a Nation of Islam Mosque when I was 10 yrs of age) had refused to be inducted into the U.S. military ( like Elijah Muhammad and many members of the Nation of Islam before him). Plus my mother knew her son. And knew that I could be some what radical even without being inspired by brothers like Malcolm X aka Malik Shabazz. My brother bought this book in the 1960s. I was in grade school when I read it. It was a kind of thick book and over the years I read it over many times to get the full understanding. I loved the man.
This is a powerful book. Especially how Malcolm x words at the end before his death he knew it was coming and he had no fear. He was a brave man.And I fully understand how his life shaped him.

I read this POWERFUL BOOK over 20 yrs ago. & listening to it now makes me admire and love Malcolm X more! I suggest watching his videos on UA-cam as well.
I really enjoy this book. It’s so sad that you can’t thrust anyone. The same person that will bring u up and think highly of you, and you get more popular than that person, is the same person that will bring u down.
Ossie Davis voice is one of its kind. Pierces the heart and mind . Great Hero of his people in his own way as an actor, reaching out to his audience for human rights for all .
It's crazy how much I relate to brother Malcolm X even though we grew up 60 years apart. I swear this was our last great leader smh we have been letting our ancestors down badly in this country...
First off, thank you for putting this up on UA-cam. It's a phenomenal event that algorithms brought me here, and I'm really glad they did. This was a milestone listen for me. Malcolm X's emotional storytelling sheds light on a lot of views I've never been subjected to. He has changed the way I view race relations, Muslims, Christians, love, hatred, forgiveness, brotherhood, sisterhood... what it means to be Black in America... and I am the better for it. Recommending this to all of my white friends to read immediately. His voice was cut too short by jealousy and hatred. Would have loved to see more minds freed with his message. RIP.
Joe Morton's voice is recognizable, however somewhere around the middle you can actually hear his voice morphing into Malcom's. Roscoe Lee Brown shares in the reading also. I have read the book several times and this my 3rd time listening to the audio. Enjoy Black History Month everyone.
Amazing. This needs to be read, felt and heard by every young adult in schools around the world. To hear his thoughts toward the end of his life was something special. How at peace he was even though he KNEW his world was closing in on him. I can't help but imagine the person he would've continued to become had he lived to an old old age. RiP Detroit ReD
DO NOT PURCHASE ANY VERSIONS AFTER 1992. Because since then, it has been HEAVILY EDITED w/UNTRUTHS, & some informations removed. Since the death of Alex Haley, the original manuscript, has changed hands. The Malik Shabazz Estate has since taken back the INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY. I would suggest editions from 1965-1977...
I like section where he met Betty X...he is like a regular man who was nervous about women, especially a Muslim woman. Yes..she knew! He is confident out in public but this made him more real to me..😋
This is definitely a book that needs to be read a few times. I have always wanted to read this book way back when I was a kid. I didn’t read it until I was in college. I was so entranced that I couldn’t put it down. POWERFUL!
Absolutely riveting. I admired Malcolm X from afar through being a fan of Muhammad Ali. Now I know the real Malcolm X. If must have been incredible sitting at one of his sermons. An incredible man. His true words even more true today. Wonderfully read too.

Breathless no flaw I mourned one of the most precious lost towards humanity civilization . I humbled with such knowledge that grace me, truly a mentor all should recon to.
I’ve learned much here too, but as a Christian, sad that Malcolm never embraced the dark-skinned savior of Christ.
Can't explain malcom X in words such a genius, his fight for freedom will never be forgotten. RIP..
The greatest black leader that ever lived!
To many spaces
@Selassie999 Yes Yes Yes
None Greater than Marcus Garvey.
Make him one of the greatest because there are many recognized by the international community. It's unfair to single an individual yet there are more blacks who have made profound influence on society. Just to name a few Martin Luther King, Obama, Nkurumah, Kenyatta, Mandela, Khama, Farakkan, Clinton, my father, my Grandfather and others.
How about the greatest leader that ever lived
I have read the BOOK several times, but this is my first time listening and I LOVE IT❤️❤️❤️

One of the greatest humans to bless this earth. Endless lessons to be learned from his life and the exceptional work by Alex Hailey.
I don’t feel the emotional connections that black peoples do but Malcolm x is an inspiration to me. This is a great book and regardless of your views align with his, his leadership and his fight for his beliefs are really something to be admired
Ima black truck driver in America and I listen to this audiobook at least once a day this book has changed my life I wish I would’ve read it sooner thanks for uploading 🙏

WE LOVE YOU MALCOLM X
he should have got a better ,looking woman than that betty.
My brutha he was and is our own trinity. He was born Malcolm Little. From birth to prison. From prison he became Malcolm X. From here until his trip to Mecca until his unfortunate departure from us he was El Hajj Malik El Shabazz. We do indeed love him. He was taken from us 6years 3months 14days before I was born feel a sense of loss. I read and watch everything I come across trying to soak up everything I can about him. He is us true trinity. From being called the devil by his fellow inmates to trying to changes the 🌎 for the better.

Simply wow! What a powerful, important historical figure this man was. This book is essential reading for people of _ALL_ races, especially in this current climate.
Must read all 3M books starting with Malcolm X ,Martin Luther King and Medgar Evers and check you out The Ballot or Bullet speech on April 13th 1964 that was in Cleveland Ohio.
Never went thru a book faster in my life. Totally understand why everybody im inspired by has recommended this. RIP Malcolm

Rest from your labor! My faithful and True Servant Malcolm X. Rest In Power. You still shining.💜
After hearing this autobiography it has made me understand the unimaginable hardship the black Americans have faced throughout history. Malcolm X was truly a brave selfless person who was a great ambassador and for the true Islam and a human rights activist . Brother Al-Hajj Malik Al-Shabbaz will be honoured with a high esteem in Jannah on the day of judgement. InShaAllah. RIP brother maximum respect ✊
I have this book which I have read twice before in my lifetime. I have to say is the Autobiography of Malcolm X is one of the greatest books ever made.
👌👆❤️
This man is one of the most resilent men in American History.
I love you Malcolm X. If it wasn’t for you I wouldn’t know where I stand. Alone facing the man in the mirror. I promise I won’t let you down
This segment no doubt is captivating and informative.thanks 4 giving the viewers a open mind.
Ossie Davis voice is one of its kind. Pierces the heart and mind . Great Hero of his people in his own way as an actor, reaching out to his audience for human rights for all .

Everyone deserves to read this book and learn from this man's profound life.
It's crazy how much I relate to brother Malcolm X even though we grew up 60 years apart. I swear this was our last great leader smh we have been letting our ancestors down badly in this country...
Everyone should listen to this regardless of race, this is how we really LEARN. So much respect for this man.

Much love to my African American brothers and sisters from a Chicano near u may we never stop fighting awer oppressors ✊
RIP.
One of most life changing books I have ever read (6x). I love Malcolm and James Baldwin. Rest easy King 👑
I love this man's life story.
albeit a foreshortened life.
Me too. It shows how God can use anyone for his glory & if you are willing to vessel you will continue to evolve & grow in the things of God.

I shed tears while listening I feel myself getting in Malcom
Joe Morton's voice is recognizable, however somewhere around the middle you can actually hear his voice morphing into Malcom's. Roscoe Lee Brown shares in the reading also. I have read the book several times and this my 3rd time listening to the audio. Enjoy Black History Month everyone.
Thanks for posting this wonderful autobiography of our late great brother Malcolm X. 4 hours were well spent.
Damn We Love You, Malc. Sorry you had to endure such hatred from people you would've died for.
This channel is a true gem. Thank you for this ❤
Excellent book. I also watched the movie like 10 times over my lifetime.
I love this..thank you. Iam so proud my son's name is Malcolm...in your honor

This book changed my life
Read it years ago and loved it. Thank you so much.
Is this the unedited version?
Good look.
I like section where he met Betty X...he is like a regular man who was nervous about women, especially a Muslim woman. Yes..she knew! He is confident out in public but this made him more real to me..😋
This will definitely be 4 hours and some change, of meaningful time spent on UA-cam, good lookin' out reelblack...

Absolutely riveting. I admired Malcolm X from afar through being a fan of Muhammad Ali. Now I know the real Malcolm X. If must have been incredible sitting at one of his sermons. An incredible man. His true words even more true today. Wonderfully read too.
