I've been driving a 99' Z28 for about nine years now. I've put over 120.000 miles on her on top of the 50,000 she had when I bought her. I have to say I'm still proud to drive this car. My only complaints are that the interior doesn't age well, but that really doesn't matter when you have that awesome motor. Its kinda sad that these cars are past their prime now, but the LS1 Camaros were the "It" car on the road for most of the 2000's. Everyone compered their hot rod to the "Camaro SS".
That is a beautiful car, I remember when the LS1 engine came out in '98, they blew everything away, even better they were advertised with 320hp, but motor trend got 335hp at the wheels on one, so GM was being a bit clever with these cars.
Yeah they had the same hp as the corvette did, but they advertised it as a lower rating because they didn’t want people to know it was the same car basically.
I have that same exhaust on my 99 Z28. I bought the exhaust off of my local Craigslist lol. I love how loud and mean it sounds! I love my 1999 Z28 she has 104,000 miles and still drives like she's brand new!!!!!!
ben peterson haha I have before about 9 months ago check out my channel and scroll through my uploads you'll see em. I haven't made one recently though I'm due for one lol :-D
I have a 2002 ss, 345 hp stock from the factory with the slp package i have. However gm underrated these cars, it think mine's pushing 370, although i can't completely prove that. I will tell you though that it is fast as hell, and is one nice car. there aint nothing like cruising around in a muscle car with the t tops off!!!
Yo man, i really just want to say that this dude has a really cool job. You get to see alot of different types of cars that most people dont get to see. Jealous!
I drive a V8 Mustang and on average I get 320+ miles on a tank. The people that complain about gas are the ones who always have the pedal to the floor.
lol what I'm 19... Full coverage on my 2002 z28 is $129 a month on my own policy, it was $113 a month for a 2002 v6 camaro as quoted from my insurance. Virtually no difference. The LS1 gets about the same mpg as the 3800 series v6 too
+pontiacGXPfan Yeah when I had my 98' Ws6 my friends father in law had a ls1 c5 with a magna charger I think and other mods and it didn't sound as good as mine. All mine had was a aftermarket muffler and mecham tips everything else was factory.
the engine on the 1992-2002 Chevrolet Camaro Engine 207 cu in (3.4 L) 160 hp (119 kW) L32 V6 231 cu in (3.8 L) 200 hp (149 kW) L36 V6 350 cu in (5.7 L) 275 hp (205 kW) LT1 V8 346 cu in (5.7 L) 310 hp (231 kW) LS1 V8 346 cu in (5.7 L) 325 hp (242 kW) LS1 V8
@F3ARoSPARTAN Its called being a Car Enthusiast. Car enthusiasts love all cars. I have a preferance to ford, but i can't say anything bad about any others. i love the Mclaren and i also love the Firefly because of its simplicity. Just the way she is.
kyle this is wonderful, the camaro is my favorite car, i love your videos, and i have a question, whenever you do these reviews, how come youre always wearing business clothes stuff? please answer
@FordsBetter516 most cars are equipped with rev-limiters that only go up to 4K on park or neutral. My car only hits 3500. Its never a good idea to rev past 4000. That's why limiters are installed. So people don't over rev cars and cause engine damage.
Man they total ruined the appearance of front of the Camaro with the 98 refresh. Those headlights look identical to the 97-05 Malibu, the overall look with the grille and is just too tame and almost cartoonish looking. Gone was the black-surround headlights and aggressive, wedge-like shape of the 93 Camaro. The 98 Firebird, however, was gorgeous imo.
By default, they are very reliable...but like all cars, depends on how it was taken care of. Reading forums about these cars would be where you would want to start.

"It is a little bit tighter for taller passengers" < chair hits legs and doesn't lock in place
"The headroom, isn't too bad." < head hits ceiling
I'm so in love with this car

I really enjoy these no-BS video walkthroughs
How couldn't i thumbs up this beautie ? THUMBS UP
Sheesh, you'd think the previous owner would have had a better taste for that car...that shifter knob is just GOTTY!
I have that same exhaust on my 99 Z28. I bought the exhaust off of my local Craigslist lol. I love how loud and mean it sounds! I love my 1999 Z28 she has 104,000 miles and still drives like she's brand new!!!!!!
+Radiation94 I guess. I think it's sexy.
ben peterson 106,000 lol I don't drive her too much.
ben peterson haha I have before about 9 months ago check out my channel and scroll through my uploads you'll see em. I haven't made one recently though I'm due for one lol :-D
Oh how I love Camaros!!!...I was waiting for this vid. Thanks Kyle!
Great walk around as usual!
"superman" floor mats LOL
love those SS rims
Corvette wheels with SS caps
@@brspeedysgarage Correct.
That shift knob is so metal!!!!! \m/
@xXDaMasta18Xx the throttle is under the hood which is connected to the gas pedal inside the car (: he uses the throttle to rev the engine
You should do a review on an LT1 camaro
I have a 2002 ss, 345 hp stock from the factory with the slp package i have. However gm underrated these cars, it think mine's pushing 370, although i can't completely prove that.
I will tell you though that it is fast as hell, and is one nice car. there aint nothing like cruising around in a muscle car with the t tops off!!!
lmao...love the single note horn
Pretty nice 4th gen. Gotta love that LS1!
btw I like how you drove away at the end, you should try to do that more often in your vids.
Linkin Park at 7:11
great video
"Let's go ahead and shut 'er down"
famous words
Kyle i like how you posted a mustang the day before then a camaro the next day just goes to show you dont care who makes just a car lover all around
It looks like a really nice sports car.
He says aggressive front end at 2:20 not chrysler for all you complaining lol
weaselgamer50 lmaoo 1998 chrysler 300m
Wait
Yeah! So stop complaining lol! 😆
I very love that skull shift nob too :D
The Superman floor mats and the skull shift knob are in conflict with each other...it's like a Ying-Yang situation...LOL
The Linkin Park song will be the very first song I'll listen to if I buy a Camaro
Yeah that's called "What I've Done" one of the songs from the movie Transformers and the game Guitar Hero World Tour
that car looks sweet
@FordsBetter516 a rev limiter isnt to make it stop at a certain rpm it is to stop the engine from blowing up at lets say 6500 to 7000 rpm.
Yo man, i really just want to say that this dude has a really cool job. You get to see alot of different types of cars that most people dont get to see. Jealous!
i miss mine.
guy you have the best job of the world. congratulations is a good job.
Gotta love that V8 sound!
I drive a V8 Mustang and on average I get 320+ miles on a tank. The people that complain about gas are the ones who always have the pedal to the floor.

did the ss edition only come with that horn?
Love the floor mats!!
the 1993-2002 Chevrolet Camaro was assembled in
Sainte-Thérèse, Quebec, Canada
Cool! 😎
hey kyle, how do you rev the engine from under the hood?
@randomhero713 yeah I was about to leave a comment about that. I wonder why the new ones don't have T-tops?
the LS1 somehow sounds better in a Camaro than the C5 Corvette
probably the stock muffler. they try to give the vette's a more sporty sound.
+pontiacGXPfan Yeah when I had my 98' Ws6 my friends father in law had a ls1 c5 with a magna charger I think and other mods and it didn't sound as good as mine. All mine had was a aftermarket muffler and mecham tips everything else was factory.
Corvettes have true duals, unlike f bodies as far as I know.
This is most likely aftermarket exhaust
i love how the exhaust pipes stick out in the back.
Sounds good, bit of an exhaust leak or valve tap?
the engine on the 1992-2002 Chevrolet Camaro

231 cu in (3.8 L) 200 hp (149 kW) L36 V6

346 cu in (5.7 L) 325 hp (242 kW) LS1 V8
Can you review that 4 door bmw 3 series that was next to the camaro?
I'm thinking of buying a 1996 Camaro Z28 as my first car. Yes, I'm crazy.
I came here because of Linkin Park from 7:11 to 7:27, I hate it when Kyle turns off Linkin Park! Who agrees?
I do
Lol in a camaro
U can still hear it after reving engine
2:00 like how you said as well as the hazards
Great vid as always Kyle! Love the Camaros too!
skull shifter knob that's bad ass LOL
The Horn Sounds Good I Would Get One With The Automatic Transmission
The car is amazing. Love it!! Beside the titan this is my second favorite video
Nice, Black Sabbath!

VERRY NICE CAR !
I have one that you might wanna check out on my channel!
Please do a video on that 3 series! I don't believe you have one of that generation on your channel! :)
Old camaro sounds way better than the new gen i still like the new one more lol
Yeah the old Camaro does sound way better than the new generation
@F3ARoSPARTAN Its called being a Car Enthusiast. Car enthusiasts love all cars. I have a preferance to ford, but i can't say anything bad about any others. i love the Mclaren and i also love the Firefly because of its simplicity. Just the way she is.

LINKON PARK CHEVY CAMARO
Nice shift knob :D
@saabkyle04 What do u recommend, an 07 lexus es350 or an 07 infiniti g35? please reply. thanks :)
you should do a review of the bmw next to where u parked the car.
it depends. LS1 V8s get pretty damn good Gas mileage for the power it creates.
Lol. I took that line from an old Motortrend Magazine review of the 2001 Trans Am.
ahhhhh my dream car. halfway there lol I got a 2001 z28
Nice I have a 2002 SS as well on my channel you might like!
thats the same radio that is in th late 90's malibu's
The car I’m in love with
😎
Qué guapo está este coche.En España solo se vendió el de 6 cilindros y 200 CV.
i agree but the one car that can never be appreciated by true car lovers is the toyota prius
if you ever get the chance, and i know you are very busy, could you try and find a 2011 ford explorer, that would be awesome!
About how much hp difference is there between the SS's and Z28's? It's hard to find a SS in my area.
Rated at 25 extra for ls1 and lt1
***** I just watched a video on the Z/28 he reviewed and he said it was running 310 hp....
What car would be a better first car this or the pontiac trans am?
I gotta get a Camaro in my life
I know even my mom does too
kyle this is wonderful, the camaro is my favorite car, i love your videos, and i have a question, whenever you do these reviews, how come youre always wearing business clothes stuff? please answer
we used to have one of these , matt black , but in Qatar we couldn't get the parts needed to maintain it ,so bad it's gone.
Thank god there`s a leather wrapped steering wheel.
kyle you forget turn the foglights
Is the clutch in these camaros easy to push in or is it like a leg work out?
the steering wheel and the the radio looks like the old chevy lumina radio and steering wheels good morning sabbykyle its a good car
it has almost the exact same interior as the pontiac trans am
@FordsBetter516

Hey I have the same superman floormats

Transformer song!
Corrr must be hard to find a manual camaro :P
awsome vids i also think u shud test drive these muscle if ever possible
Nice specimen.
It has SLP LoudMouth Exhaust
Correct! How did u know?
i wish they made the 97 model with a ls1, the pre 98 ones look soooo much better.
Oh my god those mats and that knob are god awful. Disgusting lmfao
Agreed.
Dont buy this car for interior lol its about the drivetrain
I agree
UnitedStatesOfCoffee can’t believe the dealer didn’t take that off
it sounds nice, though
other than that great video and car
looking to buy one of these soon, how reliable are these camaros? anything i should lookout for?
104snake exactly
By default, they are very reliable...but like all cars, depends on how it was taken care of. Reading forums about these cars would be where you would want to start.
