    Hi everyone! I just wanted to take a second to apologize for the audio in this video. I still had the wind reduction setting on the camera switched on from my last camp in the mountains. I tried to do what I could in post but you’re still probably going to need to turn up the volume on whichever device you’re watching with. Sorry about that!! Hope everyone has a great weekend. Thanks for clicking on the video 😀

      I didn't really notice any issues with audio 👍🏻

      @GoingSoloOutdoors  Рік тому +3

      @@MrDiPYthat’s interesting. I didn’t notice any issues when I looked at the video on my iPad (maybe only in the beginning of the video) but on my phone I definitely had to turn the volume up quite a bit. I’m assuming it was that wind cancellation setting. But I did also completely knock over my camera right before I started talking 😂 so maybe I just knocked the mic a little loose.

      I can't say I noticed any audio issues either. It's a pet peeve of mine so I'm always sensitive to changes in noise levels between scenes etc. Really enjoying the content. Thank you.

      @GoingSoloOutdoors  Рік тому +2

      @@noelodwyer glad you didn’t notice 👍. The volume was quite a bit lower in certain parts in the beginning of the video. Not a big deal if your volume was turned up but just a bit lower than normal. Appreciate you letting me know. Makes me feel a bit better. Just a bummer when you realize you have a camera setting wrong after you’ve filmed.

    The boy is back! Never apologise for a mere local woodland camp - much as we love your mountain adventures, few do chilled woodland vids as well as you. I've got the same backwoods bungalow and have only used it a couple of times yet, but it is great for this sort of camp eh? I am getting serious gear envy about that Firebox AND the TJM rotisserie though... Happy big birthday and I hope the jetstream is in your favour for your Scandi adventure!

    • @GoingSoloOutdoors
      @GoingSoloOutdoors  Рік тому +3

      Appreciate that Rich! The birthday wishes and the kind words 👍. After a mountain camp with ridiculous weather, that people seemed to enjoy (I would have just preferred a nice sunset 🤣) it feels kinda funny posting a video of me just enjoying a chill night in the woods. But sitting by a campfire is the absolute best!!! I usually don’t like to push any products but I gotta say, the firebox freestyle is pretty cool. It’s just a unique bit of kit! Which is nice to see in a landscape of stoves that are all basically just a box or cylinder that you build a fire in. It’s kinda nice to have something that does it a bit different with all the different configurations you can create! That being said, it’s expensive, and I was able to get it at half price 🤯 on a kickstarter sale for his chef knife. So if you are interested in it, I would wait for a sale. Firebox seems to be pretty good about running special deals. The rotisserie worked well! TJM Metal works just makes great gear at a great price!! All the best buddy! Thanks again

    You Eat Better On The Trail Then I Do In My OWN Home ! The firebox is great, I have to rebuild my kit and camp pretty much from scratch, I used to have a sterno stove but there is an REI Sporting good store not too far away, I am frequently aware of how well refined your equipment seems, you seem to have it all figured out really well. I guess my first Item will be a decent tent. I ride a motorcycle and my pack will actually be a surplus canvas Duffle bag. You Inspire. Just a few things...you seem to have this down to a science, specifically am impressed with the inflator for your air mattress, I get the impression that you have been at it for quite awhile, I am just very gradually considering what equipment I might end up with. I hope I'm npt too far ahead to say; it seems like you might have some military service in the background, but in any case, thanks for your help, I learn alot from videos such as these, wishing you and yours your best!

      No military experience, I just grew up playing in the woods as a kid and I got serious into camping around 20 years ago. Take your time getting equipment. Part of the fun is definitely figuring out what works best for you. Really appreciate you taking the time to comment! ATB

    curious? why no pack chair, small light, easy to carry. they keep my butt dry.

    • @GoingSoloOutdoors
      @GoingSoloOutdoors  Рік тому +1

      I actually have two camp chairs that only weigh 16 ounces. They’re fantastic and I do use them often just not usually on these solo camps. I actually always bring a camp chair if I’m camping with a buddy. So I can comfortably hang out by the fire. For these solo trips, I like to use the sit pad just because I kind of like sitting on the ground, it doesn’t take up much space, and it has multiple uses 👍. For instance, I actually use it as the back padding for my rucksack. So it’s soft against my back.

    What was the new tent you are getting?

    • @GoingSoloOutdoors
      @GoingSoloOutdoors  Рік тому +1

      The Hilleberg Unna. It’s a 4 season, two pole freestanding tent. The entire side of the tent can open up and be rolled away. It’s a very spacious one man tent, but it definitely has enough room for at least one of my children to camp with me 👍. Thanks for the comment!

      Absolutely 👍. I actually had a lot of issues with the sound on this camp. I didn’t realize but I still had the wind reduction setting turned on from my last camp in the mountains. It definitely messed with the audio. I tried to do what I could in post, but you definitely still have to turn up the volume on whichever device for using. Sorry about that. Appreciate the comment. • @GoingSoloOutdoors

      My belt knife is the Casstrom No. 10 Swedish Forest Knife. It has been a fantastic knife for bushcraft. The Husqvarna Swedish Style Hatchet won't break the bank. I've used it for years on many of my camps. Big enough to split wood but small enough to pack for a camp 👍
