Thank you! I really enjoy coming to this location. It’s a beautiful forest. My only complaint is that you can occasionally hear a road off in the distance. But other than that it’s a really nice spot. Really appreciate you watching my older videos 🙏😀!
Thanks! 👍😀 There is nothing more disappointing than walking through the woods and discovering a large fire pit someone has just left when it doesn’t take much effort to just leave no trace. In some areas it may make sense to just use an established fire pit but here it just doesn’t. Appreciate you watching and taking the time to comment! ATB
These woodland camp vids look like you're slipping on a comfortable pair of much loved slippers. You've also absolutely nailed a 'chiaroscuro' aesthetic of low light, natural flame videography - it's so pleasant to look at. I've done slow cooking stews a couple of times and it's so satisfying somehow eh? Another superb vid - already looking forward to what you get up to in The Lakes! Cheers. Rich 👍
I haven’t heard someone use the term chiaroscuro since taking an art humanities class back in university! Really glad you like the candle/firelight shots. I’ve been very happy with how the camera does at picking up light the way I see/experience it on these trips. I really love the look of light produced by a candle or fire. In fact I regularly light a candle at night in the house rather than turn on the lights in a room (😂it drives my wife crazy). Hard to not like a nice stew on a chilly autumn or winter evening! Appreciate the comments as always Rich. ATB
Thanks for explaining that for those of us who are not classically trained. That makes perfect sense! And explains why the video is so pleasing to the eyes and senses. Cheers for that!
I got to hand it to you for cooking real potatoes. I go the instant route. That meal looked delish. I have the one tigris outback tent which is the same but opens both in the front and back. Great trip as always. I got to learn that knot to adjust the pot height. Take care.
I’ve actually never made instant potatoes before. I’m assuming they basically taste the same though as long as you season them properly. I know which tent you are talking about 👍. I really enjoy this baker style tent design for Woodland camps.
Another great vlog 👍. I've got the onetigiris outback similar to the bungalow but far too big and heavy for any distance from the car even leaving the poles at home to save weight but still love it.
Yeah the outback definitely looks a bit bigger. Great tents though for a woodland camp. I enjoy the throwback look to the old canvas baker style tents. And at least these OneTigris tents are not as heavy as those, and they don’t break the bank 👍. I really appreciate you watching and commenting on these older videos btw. All the best!
I can’t get out camping as much as I would like but you’re videos really help me get close to that relaxed feeling.Great videos, really appreciate your work 👍
That’s excellent to hear! That’s one of the reasons I started filming these camps. I have relied on others videos for that exact same moment of escape when I can’t get out for a camp myself. Thanks for watching and I appreciate you taking the time to comment!
@Going Solo yout stew and mash looks amazing too. A great camp, as always, and hubby has now ordered the steamer from Amazon, and it's down to just over £5.
My wife Maggi and I have really enjoyed this camp as usual. I like how you use what is around you and I am so impressed with your steamer, that I have just ordered one. Your meal looked great.
Glad you two are enjoying the videos! The steamer definitely comes in handy when you want the feeling of an open fire but the convenience and fire safety of a firebox. Thanks for taking the time to comment Terrence! All the best!
Another great video and proper food!! Good to see someone with some cooking skills… after setting fire to the string, was very relieved to see your eyebrows survived for video!! Wonder if it was dipped in gasoline or something 🫣😅
Thank! 😂 Jute Twine makes an incredible birds nest when using flint and steel. It takes a spark incredibly easily from a ferro rod also. It’s actually one of the reasons I have it wrapped around the handle of my kuksa, as emergency tinder for fire starting! Thanks for watching!
@@GoingSoloOutdoors quick question I watched ur snowdonia videos and where u were climbing on the ridges High up looked really dangerous, not much of a path etc, was this the case or was it camera angles???
@@samuraican6901 yes that ridge does actually look like that! It is called Crib Goch. It’s a very narrow ridge that falls off on both side. It’s an incredible hike but you definitely have to be careful on that ridge. However you are rewarded with incredible views on both sides!
I echo your sentiment about the noise from the road, even at 2 miles+ away. I forget who said it, but it was something like "Silence is the sound of Nature in motion." When we think of it that way, silence is being drowned out by human activity more and more each day. At this rate, there will come a day soon when it will cease to exist completely. Kind of sad, really.
It is definitely getting harder to get away from noise pollution completely. Even far from any roads I still will hear planes occasionally flying overhead. It’s sad.
Did you ever go back to the Backwoods Bungalow? I'm considering getting it but I don't have a ton of storage for multiple tents at home so I have to really choose my tents wisely 😅
This was the last trip I used it on. It’s a great tent for the price. It does require you to either use a ridge line or cut sticks for support though. I like to use it when I’m doing bushcraft esq trips.
It’s the Silky Pocketboy outback edition. I would just do a Google search for it. There are many different places that sell it at varying prices. It’s a great little compact saw.
One of my favourites of yours so far and I’ve watched quite a few. Great music and relaxing scenes. Inspiring!

Those instant mashed potatoes taste great.
Awesome! Peace
🙏😀 There is something very special about sitting next to a campfire at night in the forest 👍. Appreciate you watching!
So calming. Love the woodland camps.
Thanks! They are really enjoyable. I think my next camp will be in a woodland as well.
Wow, what a stunning shots! This looks outstanding my friend! 🔥🔥
Thanks man!
Relaxing to watch.👍
Glad to hear that 😀!
Hard to beat the Backwoods Bungalow. I bought one last year. Enjoyed the video a lot. See ya on the next one. Subscribed.

Thanks for the support Chris. Appreciate you watching the video and taking the time to comment!
W❤️W! That’s Awesome! Cheers for more exciting and incredible adventures!🥂❤️✨
Thanks Juan! Appreciate you watching. Have a great weekend! More adventures to come 😀👍
The bungalow took me through a huge thunderstorm that went about an hour, then a steady drizzle all night. 100% dry in my experience.
That’s awesome. It’s a great tent for woodland camps! Love the awning!

Another great camp! I love that tent... I might need a backwoods bungalow in my life !
Thanks Bob! The tent does require some extra setup time but it’s really roomy and the awning is nice if you get a passing shower!
Another nice one! I need that saw….
Thanks! It’s a very good saw. Especially for the size!
Nice work, and nice hat! My son and I often wear caps like that in our videos as well, so now we see we're not alone 🤣 We just gave a subscribe👍
Can’t go wrong with a flat cap 👍. Thanks for watching and the support! I will head over to your channel as well!
Great video.The stew looked amazing.
Thanks! Definitely take a bit of patience but its worth the wait 😃

@@GoingSoloOutdoors the pleasure is ours.....Chicken tikka masala curry with black beans and chapatis. 😋 We are just now watching your video.

Use #60 tarred twine , so much stronger , cheaper than paracord
👍 I will pick some up. Thanks for watching!
@@GoingSoloOutdoors correction…that would be #36 bank line ( tarred twine ) not #60 .

Whats the bag you use in this video? Im looking for one just like that one
I’m using the Frost River Isle Royal Jr 👍
Your voice is a bit difficult to hear, and next time you can set your mic better!
Appreciate the feedback. I am planning on getting a wireless microphone system which should help 👍
So calming. Love the soundtrack. Thanks Solo. We appreciate you!
😀👍 Thanks Dublin! That’s good to hear!
Thanks for this. I've had the same tent for a few years now, and I've yet to get out in it. It's nice to see what it looks like. 😉👍🙂🏕️
😂 you gotta fix that and take her for a spin! It’s a really nice tent for these woodland camps!
