- My nerves had me on edge! Everything in my brain was spinning leading up to the photoshoot. I spazz out a lot, forgive me? I do manage to offer some good tips and tricks while I organize my truck waiting for things to happen. I also tried out a new truck wash that had no reviews! Yikes that was scary. Then, I experienced one of the coolest moments in my life, being part of a Shell Rotella photoshoot! Now that is a moment worth waiting for.

I do OTR flatbed drive a t680. I live in my truck, single, no days off, literally no days,, save all my income. I'm probably the only driver in the world with a full size deepfreeze inside my truck with two months of food. I also have two refrigerators. I don't see any other truckers who honestly save all of their earnings and prepare all of their meals. #lifegoals

Me as a 23 year old male working as a Diesel Mechanic in South Texas , it’s exciting to see young people like you thinking for yourself and building the future you want to live. The success that follows is just a direct result of the undeniable hard work that you perform on a daily basis. No it’s not easy at times, but that’s the point. If it were easy everyone would be successful. Surprise yourself with what you’re able to accomplish, stay out of your comfort zone and take risks. You weren’t annoying or spastic in this video, just excited for what is unfolding in your life currently, and that in it of itself is inspiring to young men like me.
Please be careful. Encouraging anyone to try out trucking as a career is a recipe for financial ruin right now. The AB5 law enforced by California will not help much.
@@wanderingfido Yep, and to make matters worse, they won’t let you operate there PERIOD if your truck is older than 2011, and if it is, the only ways to fix that are either swapping your older engine out for one manufactured on or after 2011, or buying a whole new truck with a 2011 or later engine already in it to avoid the headaches that go with engine swaps, and to add even more insult to injury, AB5 aside, diesel prices are absolutely horrible in California right now.
I'm sitting watching the struggle with Freightliner's new stupid design for cabinets. I'm actually vibrating thinking how much I hate my Chicken quesadilla Truck, just for the fact Freightliner screwed the pooch on interior storage.

You’re absolutely precious Shelby, found you and am literally binge watching. I also despise shopping, and love the open road. Now that my daughter is grown I really seriously think about getting a CDL and doing OTR. I have physical limitations though and house rabbits still to care for, but when I’m 100% free to, I very well may be a road warrior too.

Also when anyone transports an animal be it a dog they have to be kept in either a cage or wooden packing case in the cargo hold,but the poor dog might need to go for a pee or the other and it would be to stressful for it.I imagine shelby you have had either a member of your family stay in your home or dakota went to stay with them when you had to leave him when you went away trucking.
Just smiling seeing Dakota and you. Texas is a great place. The sunsets and sunrises there are just different. Make it back home safely. I personally have met so many successful women this year. Its really exciting to know everyone has a chance if they are just a little brave and ambitious.

The truck you have is the same type used by Walmart except yours looks like a different year or model. I noticed the older ones have weak power steering, I have a bad shoulder and the older truck they first gave me had weak power steering. they gave me a loaner truck that was one of the newer models, the power steering is a lot better on it. If your's has the weaker power steering your arms must get really tired or you're really strong. both the older ones and the newer trucks look identical so you can't tell them apart by their looks. your truck looks almost identical to ours. I even recognize the gauges and the radio, they like to keep things all the same I guess

Hello Shelby, I’m watching this first thing in the morning. I’m not a morning person. I need two cups coffee before I even form a sentence. You, on the other hand hit the ground running. And the way you say anything that comes to mind is what keeps me entertained. Stay safe tiny lady. It’s good to see you again.
I can kind of relate, except I can’t function without just a single cup of coffee because of my ADHD, and yes, I drink coffee despite the fact I’m only in my 20s, and I am aware that caffeine doesn’t work nearly as well as, for example, Adderall, which I actually used to use growing up, and then for unknown reasons it stopped working, so caffeine is basically my plan B.
Can you bring back Black Kodiak Media productions? Its not the same without BKM.
Every hour i have been getting up for a pee every hour for 20 years or more and laying away,and i just got up at 3am now its 4am here in england ,so il go back to bed now.Take care stay safe.

There are going to be food shortages so people like yourself shelby need to make sure you have enough food if not how can you truck drivers do your job.Major water shortages is coming but that is nearer to the end of the world,yes im a christian.

Nice to see you back here on youtube again, if you are saying that the truck gets cold and takes a long time to warm up in the colder temperatures, have you thought about having a Espar heater installed on your truck that will burn a fraction of the fuel of the engine and can either be used to keep the engine warm or to heat the cab of the truck. They are amazing I have a couple friends who use them in their campers. Nice photo shoot with your truck, can't wait for the next episode

With over 1/4 of a million subscribers, I think I could figure out how to put out some content. Do you know what most youtubers would do to have that many subscribers? Take it from someone who threw away their success because they couldn't get out of their own way; don't throw away something you don't understand the value of. Your youth and cuteness will not last forever, capitalize on this opportunity. Don't let it just slip away. This may have sounded harsh, but it's written with your best interests in mind.
Maybe her life and work is first priority for her? I know it sounds crazy, but not all young, cute women want to be famous? UA-cam is and fame is just a side gig for her besides running her own business. It just so happens that quite a few people like watching videos of her sharing part of her job and parts of her life.
@@Bendigo1 I didn't say I didn't like it. I do like her and her videos. I respect all she has done, including her channel. Which is why I brought up the point, not to be a pain in the backside, or troll, but out of genuine concern. I'm saying that life taught me the hard way to be careful with gifts you are given. Don't squander them unless you know for sure what you are giving up, and why.
Some success is lightening in a bottle, its hard to replicate once its gone.
@@HouseOfStupid I can respect and understand that sentiment, but the way you worded it is quite insensitive and somewhat demeaning.
As much as we love to see new content from her, and wanting more, we need to respect the fact that she may not want to be in the spotlight quite as much as others and/or she is just too busy with other things to devote as much time as is required to post videos regularly.
As for wasting her opportunities. She really isn't. If she is doing well with her business and enjoys what she is doing then it is not a waste. She could very easily become a super famous UA-cam star, even more, but what if that isn't what she wants? Fame and popularity are very demanding and often not as rewarding as it seems, and for some people it can cause serious issues. If she chooses to spend time working on her business to become successful, it will most likely be much better for her in the future.
I know very well what it feels like to think back and say I shoulda'. Or what if I did that instead of this. But that is just something each one of us has to go through in life.
I see her achieving great things. Even if she chooses to not take advantage of what she has with the channel and her looks and personality.

I'm a fan of hers, watch all her videos. I agree with everything you are saying. But, look, pretty much every single comment on her videos are very, um, well... simp like. Please don't take that wrong. I am not saying yours are, I don't know your comments. That just seems to be the way things are these days. Its not wrong, it just is.
I did not say anything bad about her. I did not threaten anything. I did not demean in any way. I didn't lie. I did not point out anything, that everyone who watches doesn't already know. I did not gossip or make lurid comments. I did not say her beauty was all she had. Just because my comment wasn't all soft and cuddly, doesn't make it bad.
When someone hears a statement or idea about something and that makes them very uncomfortable, it can be because they are speaking truth, and it might be a hard truth for them to hear. I am not being so indignant to say that's what's going on here, I am just saying think about it. Why are you so frustrated (I wouldn't ask that of you and expect you to answer me, that's for you to contemplate, if you want too).
Look, people don't have to agree on everything to get along. I think we, me and you, have done a very good job here of conversing in a positive way about something we disagree on. Too bad our politicians can't do that!

I may have misread or misunderstood your original comment, but when you mention putting out content and young and cuteness, I seemed to me that you were basically suggesting she sell herself on youtube over being a hard working young woman doing a job she seems to enjoy. 🤷♂️
It bothers me because I have seen many young ladies destroy themselves just to stay trendy and popular and provide content. Men too, but not relevant here. They start out sharing little bits of their lives just for fun, then because they are young and cute, they get popular very fast. After a little while, views start dropping because it can get boring with no new content fast enough. So they start doing stuff to get more views, and the cycle continues. Pretty soon they are a completely different person than the one that started filming short clips in the kitchen, getting tons of plastic surgery to keep looking youg and cute because thats what they think what people want to see....
I'm just saying that I would much rather see her put a video out once a year, than see her become obsessed with trying to keep up with being popular on youtube and become a completely different person.

Also you need to carry things like a first aid kit pain killers things for headaches and so on.

Hey Shelby! Have an idea for your paper work. Get a 12 month bi-fold folder and so you can organize your paperwork by month of run. So if you have to go back and find the paperwork and you at least know the month just go to the month and pull the paperwork for that month.

Sometimes it's just easier to draw the curtains and take a sponge bath in the sleeper. You can convert a storage tote from under the bunk to a shower stall for this purpose. Sometimes a sponge bath is the only option because the truck stop shower is way too gross or you're out of hours too far away from a decent sprinkle.
