What did you think of the Amazing Spider-Man films?
hey do u think andrew deserves another chance as spider man under a better script
The first time i watched it i found it really good and funny
Watching it again changed my opinion almost completely

I feel like Andrew could have played a great college age Spider-Man where he is already a seasoned crime fighter and has grown some confidence since his high school years.
Yep. That could've also been a soft sequel to the Raimi series
Yes but Sony can’t take him out of high school
He would have made a great older spiderman. The one struggling with bills, dueling with depression, similar to the Spider-Man recently seen in the videogame
Yeah it would’ve been cool if he had only been Spider-Man for like a year or so and he was pretty cocky. Then he has to face superhuman foes that rose to challenge him
@@aedanmannion I disagree. One year is too close to his highschool days. More like 4 years or even more where he is either in college or even an fully fledged adult trying to balance his work life with paying the rent with his spiderman duties

Finally! Someone else who thinks that Andrew Garfield is a generally strong actor yet motivated to act badly by an out-of-character script in The Amazing Spider-Man films! Too bad people say that most (if not all) criticisms this video has towards Andrew Garfield as Spider-Man (by calling the bashers of him as the character "miscast" like every Internet hater that dwelled in their parents' basement there is) instead of the other Spider-Man actors are bullshit.
I think that was Sony's point to make him look like that type of person. In Spiderman 1&2. if we would of got a Amazing spider man 3 we would probably see his personality change for the better now that Gwen died in the end of amazing Spiderman 2
He should have played an older peter parker like in the ps4 game.
Andrew Garfield's spider man feels like waisted potential. If Sony never screwed it up, then his version of spider man could have been great.
Scout Trooper it was great but if Sony never screwed it up it would be better if not equal to the Spider-Man Homecoming but you got to admit it was better than Toby Mcquire

Andrew is too cool to play a nerdy boy like Peter Parker
Why people bullying him ? He has looks of cool kid at school even without super power, no one gonna bully him.
He has a really punchable face. And his version of this character is really, really bad.
@Booper Dooper His punchable face isn't the scripts problem. But yes, this whole reboot failed every single Spider-Man fan so horribly that it's amazing they still made Homecoming etc.
Thats what my cousin said
@@Tuukkis he portrayed spider man really well, but Peter Parker was kinda off
I personally feel Andrew Garfield gets too much hate from people if I'm being honest.
Nathaniel Foga I agree. His performance clearly wasn't the issue. It was the writing.
@@parkerboy795 yep since he can actually act very well
he doesn't do much different from them
Imo He’s actually a good actor in most of other films just not as Spiderman. Also they went for a dark and sinister vibe, but most of spiderman char vibe should be lighthearted fun while stopping criminals
Garfield was great, the movies were awful.
Although the films arent great and the script was problematic, I don't think I would say Garfield was miscast as Spidey. He was just cast in the wrong spider-man franchise. When I see Peter in Spider-Man PS4, I see the most resemblances to Garfield. They are both more confident around their villains, but still stutter in front of the girl, the physicality in the suit is similar they appear taller and leaner than Holland/Maguire and they dont look traditionally nerdy but they both clearly are smart. I think Garfield could pull off an older and more experienced Spider-Man, and I think the amazing series should have gone in this direction.
Yeah that's a really good point.
Spider-Man PS4 actually takes a lot from the Amazing movies. The way Insomniac Peter moves and swings looks and feels just like the opening scene from TASM2 and do I even need to say anything about Peter and Ock's relationship in Spidey PS4 being a copy/paste of he and the Lizard's relationship in TASM1?
Well said. You hit the nail on the head.

I thought Andrew was great as Spiderman, I also think that Gwen's death scene is the most shocking scene in a Spiderman movie.
Wtf? Nothing about Gwens death is shocking. She is a character who was destined to die. Her death is one of the most iconic moments in Spider-Mans comic history. Thats why including Gwen in any Spider-Man movie just dosent work. Everyone, who has some minor knowledge about Spider-Man and Marvel comics would know that shes gonna die at some point.

I'm gonna focus on something I actually liked about Garfield's Spider-Man and ConfusedMatthew brought this up: He's truly a _neighborhood friendly_ Spiderman. He actually interacts with the citizens on a personal level and you can get some heartwarming moments. Like when he defends a little boy from some bullies and compliments his wind turbine, even offering to walk him home.
Or the boy he pulls out of the burning car. The way he gets him out of it is so much more intimate and inspired than Tobey's detached heroics. The city people are more like props than actual people.
Peter didn't really... _talk_ to the people he saved or build a real rapport with them like Andrew did. I'm just saying I liked his more sociable approach.
Tobey Maguire's Spider-Man did *some* talking to the citizens. In Spider-Man 2, there was that scene when he was delivering pizza and he saved the two kids, telling them not to play in the street. It's not much, but you can't say it didn't happen.
No he wasn’t? He consistently was reckless and let the rhino hit many peoples cars, likely killing a few people. He also went on a revenge spree in the first one to find who killed his uncle which isn’t what Spider-Man does?? He is not neighborhood friendly at all
Liam Thibodeau
Technically, but he became spiderman after he saved the kid in the burning car, not when the movie started rolling

Out of all the three live-action actors, Garfield’s Peter was the most relatable to me. Minus the whole parents being CIA agents and being bit by a radioactive spider.
But is not comic accurate of good like tobey’s Peter Parker
I relate more to Tom Holland's character, he was written much better as a relatable sorta cringy teen
@@martincruzchavez5816 Tobey wasn’t that comic accurate. Too geeky and shy. Also, Peter’s parents being special agents is straight from the comics.
@@martincruzchavez5816 i dont think you realize that andrew is the most comic accurate of all. Tobey is the one who is completely not based on comics.
@@jaspfer6477 who said the movies had to be comic accurate? Just enjoy a spider man movie I don't know why people waste their time arguing away about opinions when no one cares
I find at least to me that Andrews portrayal was the most relatable
Yeah I agree
in what ways?
Did you know that in comics, the first reflex of Peter after having his powers was to rob a bank. He wanted to buy a car to impress a girl at school. He didnt do that because he didnt wanted his uncle and aunt to get in trouble. But after that he stated to doing catch and became a star because he participate at several show and interview. Peter was a nerd who was angry and didnt have one single friend at school ( he only meet Harry Osborn at university). He thought that because the world hasnt been kind to him he didnt have to be a hero. But you know what happen next: the death of uncle Ben. Im writing all this because Im a fan of the comics of Spider man and Im tired of seeing people saying " yeah Andrew Garfield is a lame Peter Parker with his big ego". If you know the real Spider man and not only seen the movies and a few cartoon you know that he is more than a decent Peter Parker.
peter park shouldn't be relatable hes a smart student. smart people like him aren't relatable. andrew garfield was so bad at playing spiderman. hear nearly ruined spiderman for us true fans. think about.
@@final_boss1715 What? So you mean a smart student's whole personality is just being a smart student? Even if Peter Parker is a smart student, he can still be very relatable especially when it comes to his decisions in life other than school. Peter might be a smart student but he lives in a stinky cheap apartment and only does photography to pay his rent. And what do you mean by Andrew Garfield ruined the character with his portrayal when you complain about Peter Parker supposing to be a smart student. Andrew Garfield literally plays a smart student in the first film.
I’m not a fan of the basketball scene but in its defense it’s meant to have Peter have a smug sense of satisfaction. Peter just got his powers and he’s being “irresponsible” with them, I think that’s the point
It's not what Peter Parker would do... That's a big reason why people, especially fans of the comics like myself, were not impressed by Garfield's Spiderman, and more importantly: Peter Parker.
The writers and director couldn't capture *who* Peter Parker was. They were way off the mark.
@@5.A.M_IAM It's exactly what Peter would do. In the 616 he embarrassed Flash in front of everyone by beating him in a boxing match and it wasn't in self defense, he agreed to the fight. Versely he fought Flash in the Ultimate comics ALSO not self defense, he actually challenged Flash and he got satisfaction at the idea of embarrassing Flash. Peter has always gotten arrogant after getting his powers initially. Most of that smugness and arrogance goes away after his "With Great Power Comes Great Responsibility" moment but some of that still stays even after. For instance in Peter's college years he's extremely confident and talks to Flash sarcastically all the time.
@@5.A.M_IAM you say you read comics but in the comics he,s done all this maybe not on that way but hes done it so i think you need glases next time
slicknick29 Thank you. I’m so tired of people saying Andrew’s Spidey was an asshole. 616 Peter was a huge asshole when he got his powers. Even a little while after Ben’s death. He even considered killing Flash (or seriously fucking him up) and robbing a bank. Tom’s Spidey is a Boy Scout, and they had the character captured so much better in Civil War.

The guy is one of the MVPs in the comic Spider-Verse. I love him.

He's awesome and always pose like those power ranger
Birdy Pigeon the Japanese Spider-Man show was actually made by the Super Sentai (original Japanese power rangers) staff in between seasons. His megazord came before any Sentai had a zord so technically that Spider-Man had the first ever zord
Marvel and/or Toei need to release it on dvd to take advantage of the character being made canon in the Spider-verse books.
It is LITERALLY the thing that created the super sentai genre.
We wouldn't have Kamen Rider without Japanese Spiderman.
i honestly think when people use the argument that andrew garfeilds spider-man is an irresponsible jerk its a dumb argument. At first in the tasm films peter is supposed to be a jerk because of progression. I honestly find it relatable when peter is a jerk because teenagers are not saints. They make mistakes and lash out at their loved ones like peter did with uncle ben. But peter changes during the bridge scene. He turns into the spider-man we all love. There's a really powerful moment when peter saves a kid and bring him back to his father. Even though he was wearing the mask you can tell he was feeling melancholy because he know he won't have this moment with the father figures peter had lost. people usally never talk about this which is sad because the first tasm film did so much right Thats when peter understood Ben's words. "with great power comes with great responsibility" I have no life lol.
Thank you

The whole amazing Spider-Man series is a colossal missed opportunity imo
Emma Stone is the real waste of talent in these movies. She was the perfect Gwen Stacy. It's infuriating now that these movies may have turned her off from superhero roles altogether when she's pretty much the biggest actress in the world these days. She's so effortlessly charming, talented and charismatic that she'd have been a perfect fit for some major MCU role. Sony is cancer
Emma Stone ya mean? Yes, great actress. Also this series had the equation correct for down time to action time. Homecoming was so erratic it's like the writers where kept up on Adderal for the entire duration of penning the script and it was a huge poorly paced mess that I cannot seem to ever finish. I once fell asleep after drinking a half pot of coffee, and just after waking up from a full nights rest, while watching the newest movie. Just painfully boring and poorly acted. Acting feels like a throwback to Tim Burton Batman years with how dialed in it is and how cheesy it comes off. When a Sam Raimi version of what you are doing is much better acted, you are not doing a good job. I like Sam Raimi and his work, just he has that cheesy campy feel with everything he does and Homecoming felt more cardboard than that.

The only scene I liked from these two movies was the one where flash comes to talk to him after Ben’s death, and Peter immediately lifts him with one hand and shoves him into the locker with his enhanced strength… and then flash says “feels better right?” That gave me Spectacular Spider-Man vibes with developing flash as a sympathetic character very intelligently.

I try not to blame the actor but the script and the director. A Bad script will make a great actor suck , and a great director and make a sucky actor good. When people say "The Amazing Spider-Man" movies were a desperate effort by Sony to hold on to the license regardless of their ability to make good use of it, I believe them.
Yeah, Kinda like Luke in The Last Jedi
How was the script of spideman 1 and 2 better then the amazing Spiderman
Jasmin Erdbeerkäse In the writing.
The Peter Parker of the Raimi movies was far, far more faithful to the character (in writing, acting and appearance) than in the Garfield movies. And note we call the earlier films "the Raimi movies" since they were distinctive in a way the direction in the latter movies were not.
As mentioned in the video, even Peter's use of humor was different. In the Stan Lee comics Parker typicallymocks bad guys as a stalling or misdirection tactic, while in a thought balloon he's thinking "I've got to keep him away from the generator, or he'll blow up the city!" Garfield's Peter rags on villians meanly for the heck of it, with no such tactical underside.
Yes. It so fucking boring and loosing sense.
He should've been a college/working-age Peter Parker
Basketball scene is the truest form of human emotion, psychologically Peter was bullied all the time, he didn't express his anger, he hid it inside... and this is what happens when people with anxiety gain power... at start they use it against people that hurt them, until they outgrow it understanding that, that puts them bellow the "bully" we never see him bully a classmate again, because he has grown as a person. This is where his uncle's wise words come in "with great power, comes great responsibility"
This is why i love everything about the amazing spiderman... sure it isn't right, but it brings life to the scene, it feels true and life like.
Honestly couldn't buy Andrew as Peter Parker bc I never felt he was nerdy and I certainly couldn't believe that he would be unpopular in high school.
Right? He had to look for a UA-cam video. For making electrical resistant web shooters. Parker is a nerd! He doesn't need UA-cam
@@mikoswhackgameandstuffvids480 Honestly that's just implying Peter knows everything without having to have taken the time and study the subject first.
@@stardude289 I agree. Any nerd would still look things up, do research. A sophomore in Highschool doesn't just invent electrically resistant web shooters independently and in secret. Textbooks are only so helpful, and expensive. The Internet is free information on any topic, in your hand! I still caught nerdy vibes from him early on, doing research online and spending so much time on his PC.
I still agree on him not looking unpopular though. He seemed a little shy and awkward, and his voice always got all jumpy and rambled when he argued with his parents, but he always had good looks and a smug style even before the bite. He was successful. I was okay with that, but you're right to say it isn't a comic book Peter Parker. This wasn't a "awkward kid down on his luck receives powers artificially and his whole life gets turned around" redemption and growth story. This was "cool outsider kid gets powers that he can use as a tool to do more good, and improve his life". He improved, he didn't evolve.
I still thought Andrew Garfield's Spider-Man was awesome on its own.
I am a pretty good looking guy so I've been told. I was never popular in high school. I related to Andrews Spider-Man more for that reason.
He also sucked as Spider-Man cause he was willing to let people die just to crack some childish jokes and that was done by sony just to compensate the audience complains about maguire Spider-Man don't joking enough in his movies.
I believe it wasn't Andrew's fault. He's a great actor and played his part well, but the fault should've fall on the writers and Marc Webb. Just as mentioned, many scenes could've been done so much better if the direction was better or different (Marc Webb), and the fact that he was kind of smug and let Rhino destroy an entire street shows that it was the writers.
Andrew had so much potential, but the Writers and director did him dirty, and it's so unfortunate that his dream of being Spiderman did come true but being a great Spiderman didn't.
Sony should do a deal with Disney that they're able to use Andrew as Spiderman but claim that it's a different dimension, or do a different take on Peter Parker (like Noir, Assassin, Clones, Superior, etc.)
The problems lie with 'the suits'. They pushed for a linked universe way too much...
This exactly. Whatever the case may be, I just want Andrew back with a good script.
Hopefully in venom 2, hi top films did a good plot of the sequel that includes garfield's spidey, check it out
Spiderman shattered dimensions

Easy problem to fix... Just give it a different twist, like how MCU Spiderman has bands and straps around his body, this one could have a bigger emblem with a different style. They could make him with a darker suit and that his "boots" aren't like boots but like sneakers.
Kind of like Spiderman PS4, but with a different style of the suit and story. I'm sure people could tell the difference between MCU Spiderman, and this one that would have a much different suit design without actually making it Drastically different like TASM1 design.
Andrew Garfield was to Spider-Man what Brandon Routh was to Superman. They were both accurate and underrated versions of the character who deserved another chance and better material.
Garfield was sandwiched in between fan favorites like Maguire and Holland, and Routh was sandwiched in between fan favorites like Reeves and Cavill. But that doesn’t mean they were bad, it just means they weren’t utilized to their full potential because they could’ve been as popular as them.
That's actually a great comparison. Both really showed off their talent when they came back, and imo both received redemption. Andrew in NWH and Brandon Routh in Crisis on Infinite Earths.

I like his scenes woth Gwen in TASM 1. They feel so natural. Also, the scene when he finally made the web shooter work was nice. His reaction finally able to create it was something that also made me happy. Andrew was pretty likeable, really. I would like to blame the writing of his character more than his acting of it.
With the right writers, I truly believe that Andrew Garfield could be the best Spider-man on screen. Maybe around his college/early adult years, sorta along the lines of what we have in the PS4 game.
Problem is the other two have scenes like that almost the entire movie, especially Holland imo. Garfield had a few good moments but not nearly enough to put him up there with the other two.
Benjie Abbas I think of you go back and watch those scenes as well as pay attention to their antics, it doesn’t seem natural at all. It seems like bad improvisation. The whole time they’re doing these totally unnatural things with their mouths and body language and it just makes me uncomfortable, and totally ruins Peter Parker for me in that movie.

Andrew Garfield is an underrated Spider-Man
One of the biggest changes for Tobey to Garfield is one can shoot his own web while the other needs web canisters. I know in the comics he need canisters at first but I personally like the idea he can creat his own, gives more to being a Spider-Man then just increased strength and sticky hands. I believe if Garfield had better writers/directors he would of done great. We will never know....
but the fact that garfields spider man created his own by himself proves his intelligence its also insanely strong
I also don't like the idea of webshooter. He seems less spider-man. They could have called him the human-ant. Since ants are strong and can walk on walls.

I did feel bad for Garfield. I remember interviews where he was ecstatic when he got the script for ASM2 and was hoping to bring a more accurate Spider-Man to the screen. He was also pushing hard to join the MCU. Sony wanted something different and interfered again, effectively ending another Spidey universe. Sony tried to scapegoat Garfield and then fired him. He was reportedly devastated. Yes his career picked up a few years later but that was later.

That stuff makes me more optimistic knowing that the same animators for that film will return for Far from Home.

Plus the fact he made it and the web shooters was a bonus too, tobey had natural Web shooters and Tom got a free suit, Andrew made everything himself.
I've never seen anything wrong with Andrew Garfield, it was the script what was garbage. They said it was easier and faster to make another origin story than a sequel to the Raimi movies, even if that meant another spider bite and watching uncle Ben death again; for me that means they took the only unused script for the first Spider-Man that didn't featured an already used villain and started filming.
Also, uncle Ben and Wen Stacy were supposed to be innocent victims, not morons with a death wish.
Are you telling me an old man shouldn't chase down an armed criminal, and that a young woman shouldn't try to fight a being powered by pure electricity?

In my humble opinion Andrew Garfield was a really good Spider-Man but not a good Peter Parker and that is what overshadowed everything and that skewed the criticism to his role as a whole.
IKR!!!
If they would have "dorked" him up alot more before he got his powers, then the angst (especially the bball scene) would have landed a whole lot better. He would have become the "bully" and played directly into the true meaning of "with great power, comes great responsibility".
No his Peter Parker was the best modern adaptation. Andrew acted like a modern day teenager. You can't just go by the comics because one they are outdated and the Raimi trilogy did that alot and people would trash the Amazing films for being too similar to the raimi films.
I read somewhere: Toby was a better Peter, Garfield was the better Spiderman. and Tom Holland managed to find the balance of the two.
Like Batman, there’s two facets to this character as well; and a good actor would nail both Bruce Wayne/Peter Parker as well as Batman/Spiderman
It feels like he has multiple personality. He is a goofy, playful, talkative Spider man and a silent, emo Peter Parker.
ian74747 that was the idea from the start though
a complex multi faceted character? oh no, how horrible
That’s not the problem. If anything that’s a plus. But the thing is is that he isn’t silent and emo. Hell, he’s not even nerdy. He talks to girls, he stands up to the bully, he even gets the hot ass girl. There’s no difference between Spider-Man and Peter in these movies.
Thats how the original spiderman acts, playful confident when usin the mask and shy, reserved being peter
WillFanofMany Not really nerdy though and that’s why people call him a hipster
The only ‘nerdy’ thing about him is he’s smart & stumbles a lot when he talks, but even then it’s not awkward stumbling it’s just cool intellectual-looking stumbling. A bit like how Garfield is in real life interviews like the ones with Amy Adams. Not really a nerdy powerless loser afraid to speak his mind, just someone who’s jittery when they do so & seeks solace from that by regaining power in skateboarding, listening to soft rock music & partaking in other niche hipster activities
I honestly liked the first Amazing spider man.

For me, Garfield used his brain more and learned from his battles then Toby and Tom, which I like about him.
I like both Toby and Tom, though Tom's Peter, not willing to learn and adapt is what's holding him back for me to be considered the best.
What makes you think he isn't willing to learn? In what way? Just asking, I did not understand your point.
@@oof-rr5nf I mean if you watched him in Homecoming and Infinity War, you could see what my point is.
Throughout Homecoming, he doesn't adapt to learning how to beat his foes. Even after settling down to learn the ends and outs of his suit, he still didn't think things through when fighting Vulture or the ship part which lead to him losing the suit, though it shows Tony's hipocrisy. He didn't learn anything after he beat Vulture, he didn't learn to be more patient nor how to use his opponent's weakness to his advantage.
Infinity War just had him put on his mask infront of traffic and on a bus with cameras. He didn't listen to Tony when he was told to stay earth or else he would be in danger, though he was able to help.
@@mandalorianhunter1 okay, I see what you mean but on the infinity war, not listening to Tony is what makes his character ideal. Peter has or is supposed to have a huge sense of responsibility. Peter Parker would never settle to stay.
However, homecoming does ignore the concept a lot until the final scenes. He doesn't feel guilty or any responsibility to much of any of his mistakes.
Heck, for his debut in civil war being 6 months ( I think it was) and to maybe the weeks to homecoming, we never see him reflect back to Uncle Ben.
Even though all the other versions didn't, you can see that Maguire's Spidey did keep the sense of responsibility of his uncle, you can even see some resentment in the second movie and first.
Andrew's Spidey did reflect spidey's sense of guilt better, showcased in the Capt. Stacy dying, Curtis Connor and Uncle Ben.
Although, Holland's Peter does represent his age in innocence. No kid really learns the value of their elder's words until a major screw up so Peter may still be finding that meaning to his uncle's phrase. However, we never really see him pondering or have a call back to his uncle. Even the worries of his aunt flipping don't feel like it's worry for her but worry to be prohibited to wear the suit.
Maybe we will expand and explore more of this aspects in the "far from home" movie but yeah, those are my cents
Also, watcha breakdown video of the fight between doc Ock and Spiderman in Spiderman 2. You will see Toby's Spiderman did learn from his battles far better than even Andrew's.
@@creepermineh That is not really a sense of responsibility as much as it is him making it a point that if the universe ends or his neighborhood is destroyed then what's the point of him being a hero.
I want this because I read the Ultimate comics sense middle school, but I didn't read volume 2 until 2009. In that volume, he tries to go up against kingpin without thinking and he ends up beaten where his idenitity is revealed, but they didn't know who he was so they couldn't do much. Once Peter learned that he shouldn't stop using his brain which lead to him defeating The enforcers, Electro, escaping Kingpin and exposing him to the world.
Also I think you meant Civil War lol and yeah that's what I gathered from the movie. Yeah I watched the train sequence anaylsis video and I agree. I love all the Spidey's and I can't wait for Far From Home, can't wait to see Peter and Fury build a relationship together.
@@mandalorianhunter1 yeah, I've read ultimate comics too. That's why I say Tom Holland's Peter doesn't know the weight of his uncle's words yet just how the Peter it's based off of was cocky during his first fights versus kingpin.
Yeah I meant civil war lol xD
And yeah, I mean, the argument does hold truth. You can't be a hero of a destroyed town. But I feel he also did it out of a sense of responsibility, to contribute to the prevention of extinction than just be a little cure (which he wouldn't have been since he was meant to go poof either way) by helping the locals. He wanted to be an asset since he had power hence the responsibility
But it is true, Tom's Spidey still feels fresh and not committed for the right reasons, atleast to me. But he is just starting out and like his ultimate counterpart, he is still at that point of innocence and just exploring the fun aspects of his powers.
Maybe...he is still learning to cope with Ben's death hence his lack of reflection and constant avoidance of regular responsibilities and just having fun with his powers while hopefully doing good.
It's been only 7 months since someone so close to him died. Maybe he is just coping wrongly and we will see him come to the realization he needs to be be better from the trauma of infinity war

"Garfield was never going to be perfect Peter Parker. But he could have been so much better"
Well, that aged well.
I have to disagree with a lot of your points for TASM 1. Although I think TASM 2 had problems, it was anything but ruining his character.
As for your point of TASM, Peter acting awkward and nervous only appears when he interacts with Gwen atleast, and those were the only times we see Peter placed in situations that makes him awkward. So I don't think it's far to judge that he wasn't awkward enough just cuz we haven't seen enough when we did see him with said portrayal. Also, I actually don't understand how his smug assholish attitude develop overtime, when that literally dies off after Peter finally realises the power of responbility and becomes spiderman post the bridge rescue scene. The basketball scene and the scene with the car thief, aren't moment when Peter finally becomes the hero we know. So his smug attitude makes sense. The way he abuses his power for his selfish needs that's what Pete needed to understand to embody the concept of responsibility.
Similarly, in TASM2, we see him giving up the love of his life. Even tho it's contrary to what both want for themselves. And Peter "stalking" Gwen whether he was only making sure she is safe or he wanted to see him is only human. I understand that back and forth, but who wouldn't when there's two people who is madly in love with each other. Sadly, took gwen to fall to her death to understand the stakes of his action. These are the reasons why I love TASMverse is where they tell stories of a character that is flawed and human and only tries to do the best he can and learns from them. That's what spiderman stories should do, is to teach us audience and the character the concept of "responsibility" and the stakes one should bare. But for that to happen, Peter should make mistakes, should be selfish, be the embodiment of his own conflict... cuz otherwise how would the character grow and learn.
