    Aquati - aquati.co.uk/
This 5 Stage Reverse Osmosis Water Filter System complete with DI Resin is ideal for preparing water for saltwater and freshwater aquariums.. The filtered water is clear, soft and free of contamination. Due to the fact that reverse osmosis is a 100% natural process, the filtration does not involve any chemicals.
Designed to provide your fish tank with water of highest quality, The filter kit comes complete with the following:
    - 5 stage reverse osmosis water filtration system
-3x 5 meter lengths of tubing
    - Mains connector: 3/4" BSP to 1/4" adapter or 3/4" BSP to 1/4" in-line connector or self piercing valve
    - Waste water clamp
    - Housing spanner - to open the pods when pre filters need changing
    - Housing spanner - to open the Reverse Osmosis membrane filter housing when the filter needs changing
    Filters Specifications:
    Stage 1:
Sediment Filter Cartridge: polypropylene foam filter cartridge removes sand, rust, silt and other sediments up to 5 Micron. They are resistant to chemicals and purify water for drinking and general purposes.
    Stage 2:
Activated Carbon Filter Cartridge: cartridges are made of activated coconut shell carbon and non-woven polypropylene material, removes chlorine and organic compounds
    Stage 3:
Activated Carbon Block Cartridge: carbon is formed in specially pressured, high density blocks to gain high adsorption rate of chlorine, other chemicals and multiparticle organic substances. They filter mechanical pollution bigger than 3 µm and purify surface water perfectly.
    Stage 4:
Reverse osmosis high quality membrane (we offer 50, 75, 100 and 150 GPD membranes). The Vontron membrane holds up to 99% of contamination
from feed water. It successfully removes harmful organic and non-organic compounds, heavy metals and some bacteria and viruses.

My TDS readings were zero at the start but tested today and was getting 7ppm . Should I replace all filters now or am I doing something wrong. Thanks for this. I had a nightmare getting hold of Aquati yesterday.. In fact only heard from them today. I bought the 50GPD from them, my water is dripping out. I am sure my water pressure is fine, I turn on my tap and if I put it on too fast I get soaked. So why would my out put be so low if my pressure is ok?
I have a slight leak on the tap connector, but would this affect it so much? I have bought a replacement for the one that came with it as the push connecter snapped, due to the instructions being so poor.
All in all not a great experience, but it's now sort of set up and I just need to resolve the flow issue. as it would take a week to make 25 litres the way the flow is. I don't want to have to fork out another 50 to 60 quid for a booster pump so do you have any tips on how I can improve the flow? Once the new connector is on, would this perhaps make a difference?
Thanks, this is a very good video, easy to follow, I would suggest that Aquati start to put this link on their instruction manuals, as if I found this yesterday, perhaps the connector would have survived. As it stands the instructions I received were woeful your little leaflet looked to have a lot more detail than mine, which was only 5 lines of text.

Hi Lee, thanks for the comment, glad the video was useful, the big issue with RODI units is that they need optimal water pressure to produce what they say they will produce, I also tell people to always buy the biggest one possible, even at peak performance with the best water pressure (almost impossible to achieve) a 50gpd unit will only produce 7 to 8 litres per hour at an absolute maximum, I went for the 150gpd and mines fills a 25L container in around 1 hour 45mins, that works fine for me but I know if the water pressure is slightly lower that this can cause issues, any leaks at all will also slow it down so I would definitely solve those issues, unfortunately as you went for the 50gpd the only thing I can suggest is to fix the leaks, add a booster pump (still restricted by membrane size so might only get 10L per hour), or buy a bigger membrane (150gpd)
Sorry to hear you had such a hard time, if i can help with anything else just let me know, you can also message me on instagram too

@@BeardedReef Thank you for your reply. I didn't know much about these to be honest I did a bit of research and as I only have a nano (20G/94l) tank, the water changes weekly would only be around 30l (allowing for rock and substrate). So I thought a 50GPD would be sufficient. I thought my pressure was ok as I say it really flies out of the tap.
I will solve the leak later when I get the new connector and see how my flow improves. Once I am ready to change the filters etc, I will consider upgrading the membrane at the same time, I am simply on a very tight budget.
I will also look at getting a booster pump, would you advise just getting the 150 pump ready for when I upgrade the membrane? Or will this cause damage to the current membrane?
Many thanks for your help, much appreciated.

No problem mate, I have the 15g peninsula mini which is around 50L and I went for the 150gpd after doing a bit of research on the speeds, I change 10L a week plus my ato uses around 5L of RODI water per week, hopefully the leak helps out a bit mate and it gets better, did you flush the unit as I showed in the video? Might be a bit better after doing that? As for the pump I'm.really not sure mate, the 150gpd pump might just destroy the filters or burn out the pump, ive always read to match the pump to the membrane but again I'm no expert, you could maybe sell your 50gpd unit and buy the 150gpd? Did you get the 5 stage one? If so you should be able to just swap out the membrane (stage 4)

@@BeardedReef hi mate thanks again. Yes I got the 5 stage and yes I did flush the system. Ill sort the leak and see how it goes. Maybe I'll just put up with the flow till I change the filters then upgrade to the 150 and get the pump to match. If I sold the unit, I'd simply be selling as used and get less than half. So I think I'll have to wait. The only other way is if the membrane is sold on its own and I get that along with the pump if my flow is still super low. Thanks again.
