Fun Fact: Luck doesn't necessarily mean good luck, it just means chance. So by chance Makoto has a broken bathroom door. And by chance Leon killed Sayaka, instead of Sayaka killing Leon. Well, to be perfectly honest - they really don't have any direct evidence on Leon. Only a pack of circumstantial evidence, which can be applyed to most of the group more or less the same. Something just came to mind when they started talking about Sayaka's motive to pin the crime on Makoto when switching rooms. Didn't Monokuma only give the rules of the class trial when her body was found? I don't think she ever knew about the class trials since he only explained them when she was killed. Maybe she planned on just killing someone and getting out unseen. I think she'd quickly pin the crime on Makoto once she did learn about the rule even if she did manage to kill 11037. However, the hair argument and the paper would become her undoing, plus Sayaka wouldn't have had the time to change the nameplates in the morning.
This might seen irrelevant but do you think she decided to pin the crime on Makoto because she happened to be acquainted with him and that is also why she chose to switch rooms with him?
@@sunbunny5838 Due to Sayaka being broken so easy, she was overcome by her despair after the motive video and sought out to kill someone to escape. Being a pop sensation where Makoto is a complete nobody, she prioritized her group over any bonds or ties in the school as she was scared for their lives. She absolutely would have pinned the crime on Makoto, and why she swapped rooms with him.
@@derpaderpy4931 I mean, it also is more likely than not that Sayaka's dying message was indeed meant to protect Makoto (or at least prove him innocent) rather than to solely get revenge on Leon. Like you said yourself, Sayaka was never actually told about the class trials; she didn't know that she would've had to prove herself not guilty in a full investigation with the other students (which is what got Leon killed). So, from her own perspective as she lay dying, Sayaka could only imagine that Makoto would be blamed for her own death. Meaning that Sayaka really was thinking about Makoto, because she had no reason to think that the other students would've been allowed to investigate it and find Leon guilty to make him pay (all she knew was that Leon would've been allowed to leave the school after getting away with killing her).
Kyoko: *Analyzes details about crimes, pieces evidence together to create a crime scene, looks at crimes from different angles gee i wonder what her talent is
I still remember when I first played this gamer I immediately thought Leon was gonna be the first murderer since I “thought he had weird eyes” and then proceeded to pop off when I found out he actually did it
@@tysonmotroni4204 you're probably saying that because all of the Japanese voices are the same, however the English voices are not for the games and the animes
The reason the first two trials were so straightforward is cause neither of these deaths were planned. Leon turned the tables on his attacker and was in the dark about many details. Such as what “getting away with it” meant where the crime actually took place and that he couldn’t access the trash room. Mondos kill was done purely on impulse and heat of the moment but the trial was made more complex due to byakuyas meddling. These first two were just the tutorial levels for all the scheming that would unfold.
This very case makes clear what the whole series(minus v3 and any spinoff materials) says about the problem with the larger setting: that having a perfectly honed talent doesn't make a person helpful to society. Regardless of the talents held by the participants, most of them prove useless in a situation that requires rational thinking and moral fiber. That isn't to say that a majority of participants in these games lack human decency, but they are so hyper-focused as to lack the development of humility and belief in others. The protagonists in these stories possess these traits, which is also why they can connect so easily with the others in Dating Sim modes
There is a MASSIVE hole in Kyoko’s logic: When Kyoko asked Makoto about the note Sayaka had written Makoto said he didn’t write it, and they never revisited the fact that he could have forged Sayaka’s signature; because Sayaka and Makoto had spent a lot of time together…he may have seen her handwriting at some point.
I think they didn’t need to because one it was Kyoko but also even if he did forge her signature it wouldn’t have looked exactly the same there would’ve been some hesitation marks or different strokes. Since Kyoko is the ultimate detective she probably checked for that before using it as evidence.
still baffles me that they literally got away with showing those stills of leon's execution and still had some people not realize that leon was the murderer for a hot minute
why do I feel the aspect ratio is off? the PSP version was already in widescreen, and playing it in PPSSPP seems to be the most optimal, this looks like it'd fit better for ultra wide.
I think its Leon's fault he got executed (small spoilers) Leon did get attacked and the only reason he attacked her was for self defense but when he went back to kill her when she ran away it wasn't self defense anymore so he killed sayaka without self defense in the end
I wish Shuichi and Leon could have their voices switched. I love love love Shuichi but sometimes his voice irks me. And yes I know they're the same voice actor.
Why would Makoto remove hair in the first place? If there's a whole body idle in the shower it would be a waste of time to pick up Sayaka's hair if everyone was going to find the body anyway. That's what they're saying.
Monokuna said makoto was unlucky for having a broken door but it actually helped him prove his innocence

@@mrreyes5004 Solid explanation! I figured my theory would have been a little contradictory, so putting it that way definitely better clarifies it.

Gotta love remakes tho
Maybe unpopular, but 1:16:21 is the most satisfying truth bullet I ever shot in those games.

1:46 Court Preparation
2:38 when the trial actually starts
This very case makes clear what the whole series(minus v3 and any spinoff materials) says about the problem with the larger setting: that having a perfectly honed talent doesn't make a person helpful to society. Regardless of the talents held by the participants, most of them prove useless in a situation that requires rational thinking and moral fiber.
That isn't to say that a majority of participants in these games lack human decency, but they are so hyper-focused as to lack the development of humility and belief in others. The protagonists in these stories possess these traits, which is also why they can connect so easily with the others in Dating Sim modes

The fact that the class trials last longer than an hour makes me worried about watching the official play through...
The 3rd game is even longer.
The trials get progressively longer. This is probably the shortest one.
There is a MASSIVE hole in Kyoko’s logic:
When Kyoko asked Makoto about the note Sayaka had written Makoto said he didn’t write it, and they never revisited the fact that he could have forged Sayaka’s signature; because Sayaka and Makoto had spent a lot of time together…he may have seen her handwriting at some point.
Well...
Kyoko is like that one big sister that backs there siblings(aka makato) up when there in a fight
why do I feel the aspect ratio is off?
the PSP version was already in widescreen, and playing it in PPSSPP seems to be the most optimal, this looks like it'd fit better for ultra wide.
yeah some stuff is wrong in the official translation compared to the fan translation that makes it worse.
I think its Leon's fault he got executed (small spoilers)
Leon did get attacked and the only reason he attacked her was for self defense but when he went back to kill her when she ran away it wasn't self defense anymore so he killed sayaka without self defense in the end
It's like the game of Werewolf in the most extreme and cruel level.
Would’ve been a better case if.....
Hifumi was the killer and he faked the evidence to pin on Leon 😳
I think that might’ve been the issue in the trust/distrust version
I would've rathered ANYTHING but Leon's death...
so yeah it would've been bether...
@@starryshine4574 Yeah, Hifumi is my least favorite 😔

Doesn't prove shit.
If Makoto was culprit, it'd be best to remove hair to help point fingers at others later.
Why would Makoto remove hair in the first place? If there's a whole body idle in the shower it would be a waste of time to pick up Sayaka's hair if everyone was going to find the body anyway. That's what they're saying.
But what exactly would happen from him *not* doing that?
