Man I love that Line that Kota said “we will execute him so we can show the galaxy that we don’t need to fear him any longer” it’s just screams how Vader was a total badass, feared persona to the galaxy
I still hope that Disney decides to bring back Galen. It would be easy due to the introduction of the Inquisitors. All they would have to do is make Galen picked up during the first 10ish years and Vader takes a particular liking to him due to his sheer natural power
They could also have him cameo in, Bad Batch season 2, Survivor, the ending of Eclipse, or just make a third Force Unleashed or a full remake like they are doing with KOTOR
No because making him an inquisitor is lame, the secret apprentice storyline from the force unleashed 1 was fine as it is. Galen’s sacrifice and everything. I’d like to see Kota and the others return in future stories though.
@@paladinheadquarters7776 who said anything about making him an inquisitor? The best part about having a secret apprentice is that they are secret and you can have other things going on in the foreground. I discovered this game when I was recovering from a Brain Injury and trying to piece my life back together. Trying to figure out who I was similar to the clone of Starkiller. The criticism to this game are valid. Rushed and repetitive. For only having 9 months to work on this game they did a great job. I have a soft spot for this game. It gave me hope during a dark part of my life.
The DLC was really fun. Firstly, it proves the Dark Side ending to be the canon ending (meaning that Kota and good Starkiller are dead) Secondly, you get to punt Ewoks, it's the funniest shit ever, and finally you get to kill Han, Chewie and Leia, showing how powerful this evil Starkiller is and it's fun watching the good guys die and the bad guys actually winning for once.
@@wesleyward5901 The DLC wasn't canon, just an alternate route. Why would it be canon when it shows Starkiller turning Luke to the Dark side, murdering Han and Chewie and defeating Leia.
7:53 - That sound bite was used for Palpatines scream, however it's not just that. It's an ancient sith "Force scream" and is used by the most powerful sith.
For the final Vader fight in this game I mind controlled the other clones to fight Vader for me, it was historical because Vader doesn't defend correctly against the clones only the player. The level of messed up the sith mind trick was is incredible lol
These games were made for PS3, Xbox 360, and low end PC's. I couldn't even imagine what they could do these days. Especially with the destructible environments.
Hi. I hope that you are doing well. If I recall correctly, I recommended Force Unleashed 1 and 2 to you. Thank you for doing them. I hope that you have a wonderful life and the same goes for your family.
When you said the little Easter egg about Kota giving the landing code, that really sparked how much detail and love they put into this game, and how I love it so much more now than when I played this as a kid. Galen just being an absolute powerhouse even as a clone in this game just shows how badass he is
I love this series! I agree with what you said how this game could've been so much more, but was rushed due to time constrants. But nontheless Galen Marek will always be one of my favorite characters in all star wars media. But I do wonder, will you do a bonus episode covering the DLCs? I know they don't have as much content but I still think they're pretty great in their own reguard.
This was the first Star Wars game that I played I didn’t play the first one because I found this game in the pile of other games that were given to me, I wasn’t a big Star Wars fan but I of course noticed who Darth Vader and Yoda was, this game was difficult and frustrating to get through certain levels and I didn’t know some of the characters because I didn’t play the first game, but it did start me down the Star Wars journey of becoming a fan.
1:57 I think the reason why he still went along with Vader even after everything that happened has to do with his mental state in general. He might not admit it, but deep inside he seems to be torn apart by what he's doing. The line he gives to Organa on Felucia after beating Maris pretty much sums it up: ,,You really think she's free? She'll carry the memories of what she's done here......Forever....." Even though he has been nothing but a slave to Darth Vader this whole time, he still sticks by him because he has nothing else, nobody else. He's a monster and Vader was the only one who would take him in (at least as far as he sees it). That's not to mention the fact that he doesn't know of another life apart from serving Vader, surely he must have conditioned him even since he took him in to never question what he does and just focus on doing it. He was the only ,,parent" that he ever had, so he has somewhat of a emotional connection to him (it could also be the thing from the RDR series as you put it: when it comes to family people have big blindspots that are hard to reveal). I think that if he had managed to survive the encounter on the Death Star, he could have started a new life, but it was too little too late for him. The Starkiller clone, on the other hand, has no such emotional attachments to Vader. That, along with the newly gained memories, experiences and lessons from the old Starkiller, pretty much gives him all he needs to free himself from Vader. In conclusion, I think it makes a lot of sense why the OG Starkiller stood by Vader until he tried to kill him while the clone, after getting that specific memory, had everything he needed to flee.
"They are real to me!" is a line that's stuck with me since I first played this game (on the DS. Would not recommend). Sam Witwer's delivery is just... a gut punch? heart wrenching? IDK, but I still quote it at every opportunity...
See I loved this series. It was one of my favorites. Every once in a while I find myself going back and watching the scene where galen gets off the elevator and as he tries to find Vader or Juno he keeps getting surprised and the environment gets all hazy and almost something out of a horror movie. Then the voices he hears of Juno is great. The one that always stuck with me was the line from Kota which is, " You're Vader's puppet. Just a body filled with the memories of a dead man." The first time I ever heard that while playing gave me chills. Another thing I loved was the interactions between galen and Vader when they locked sabers. My favorites were during the final phase is when galen is going full super saiyan on Vader and it is just phenomenal and almost heart-rending. The three of course being, #1: galen: I'll kill you! Vader: Rise above this. She means nothing. #2: Vader: her death gives you strength. Embrace it. Galen: I will kill you! Vader: if you wish to join the woman, so be it. #3: Vader: she loved a dead man. She would've never loved you. Galen: YOU WILL DIE WHERE YOU STAND. Just that whole sequence is mind blowing and one of the best things I remember. When I think about iconic or scenes that make players stop in their tracks I'd like to think this is one of them. At least for me anyway. I'd love to hear everyone else's thoughts
The first part where he free falls and lands in the big room with all the glass shattering all around you. That was one of the coolest video game moments I have ever scene.
Love this game, sure it's shorter than the first and doesn't have the same twist and turns and it feels like enemies are cardboard at times cause of how hard you hit them and they go flying but I love it, the gameplay the settings, the story and to me this will always be canon to me. Funny fact, star killer was scared sh**less of yoda and wanted to get the f**k off that planet as fast as possible.
So, the thing that I'm more upset about getting cut, was that before this game came out, Nintendo Power did an article on it, and part of the original idea was that at some point, Boba Fett was going to be on Starkiller's side, and that you could play the campaign in Co-Op with p2 being Boba. But since the game got rushed to the point the single player was very grit, spit, and duck tape, they had to cut the Co-Op.
I was greatly surprised to find this episode up just after I found the first episode popped up in my recommended. Thank you for both great vids kind sir
Another win is that, i can’t remember if it’s in a novel or something, but Galen was actually scared of Yoda on dagobah, something like he can’t imagine how someone could live so close to the dark side cave and that yoda must be ridiculously powerful if he can not go mad living next to it
I absolutely love the Force Unleashed series. I love it for its badassery, for the amount of freedom you get with the force, the countless ways you can take out your enemies, the awesome and completely free customization, and even the story. I love it despite all faults. I definitely fell in love with it as a kid, and I still every once in a while revisit the series. It's just too good.
Since the original actor for Darth Vader retired, I think the one that voices him in the Force Unleashed 1 and 2, should take his place. If you listen closely, you can hear just how much the embodies the ruthlessness and cruelty of the dark lord. You definitely got to give him props for that
I always took Vaders last lines as him saying "The jedi were right; Attachment will lead to fear and pain and you wear your fears around your neck. Fears I will use as a leash until you do what I could not; let go" Also with that scene, vader is looking from left to right and Galen from right to left. As we know, in a lot of screenplays when a character is moving forward is is from left to right on screen. I think this was on purpose. I think you could say it was to show that in the end, no matter what Vader does, as he moves forward, Galen will always be focused on him up until the/his end Great video as always, friend!
2:10 this scene should have atleast been 5 wins for me atleast: this is the moment I realized that "Oh yeah, this is all my money's worth and time, right here, right now". not to mention the storm troopers corpse launches are random every time source: I played this game start to finish a whole lot
The style Starkiller uses is probably form 5. Just like Vader and Ahsoka. The latter just uses the Shien variant compared to Anakin. Also her and Starkiller use Jar'Kai, which is the twin saber style.
would have loved that in the third game you'd actually play exclusively as Vader to truly show the galaxy they should fear you with the last boss being Galen and ultimately obliterating him.
If you need more story for the Force Unleashed 2, and don’t mind reading, I’d recommend finding the official novelization for the game. It smooths out some things, and explains a few weird things. It also gives a heck of a description for Force Repulse so you might want to prep yourself for that.
I adore the conflict in this game, it’s a little insane at times and the ending is whack but Sam Witwer, man, you are not kidding he brings this role so much heart and soul. I love the buildup to the final encounter when you are forced to walk

Since you mentioned Star Wars Jedi:Survivor, I am just going to give an idea for it's gameplay that would be awesome. Cal goes around the galaxy, trying to find other Jedi. Since he can only use Lightsaber Fighting Form I, he can learn the other forms from these Jedi, as an optional side quest. In the end, the player can select which one he wants to use the most.
I LITERALLY just finished the first video, stepped into the living room to check on my daughter, then opened UA-cam to find something to put on while making dinner and BAM
I'm still in the headcanon that the Starkiller here is the same as the first game, just having his memories fucked up and gaslighted into thinking he's a clone.
Weird how I never knew how little time this game had to be developed. I actually always preferred it over the first game. Even with it being fairly short and I definitely agree with a couple of the story flaws you mentioned, I remember the gameplay feeling so much smoother than the first game back when I first played it. Felt powerful and ridiculously broken in the best way along with those smooth animations. Looking forward I personally hope Jedi Survivor is exactly what Fallen Order is, but with the brutality and power both Force Unleashed games had.
One thing I do love about this game is how dismissive Vader is of Galen's obsession with Juno. You touched on at 11:13 how Galen is a lot more like Vader than he would admit. Galen's obsession with Juno doesn't remind Vader of his past obsession with Padme, that we can tell at least. It's been nearly 2 decades since she died, and I like to think that Vader by this point has accepted Padme's death and moved on to the point where he doesn't think of her or "what could have been" anymore, and that he is somewhat comfortable with the way things turned out. At this point in his life there's no Padme or Luke, arguably no good in him, and all that matters to Vader is power. His 3 goals are a strong and efficient government, the destruction of the Jedi and the Rebellion, and aspiration to kill Palpatine and become emperor.
This game made my childhood like I’m sure it did many other ppl and the real Star Wars fans will not let this masterpiece fade into the shadows of time it shall be forever loved referenced and celebrated thank god for the ppl that helped develop the both of these games and bring forth such a promising new era and character to the franchise to me it will always be cannon I don’t give a damn what anyone says t loved how they gave us the origin of the rebellion and how they gave us a fairly good story with such a forever relevant theme in the second one even tho it wasn’t as polished as it should have been but I think that just adds to both games ability to be timeless

I hope that they will make a 3rd game, I absolutely love Sam Witwers video game characters from starkiller to Deacon in Days Gone, it'd also be insane if it was made by the people behind the new God of War games
2:00 the reason why Vader can't use force lightning is that it will fry his whole armor and life support. So basically he would've been like Vader in the last Kenobi episode.
To be honest I kinda prefer the wii version of 2 because the kamino level had several qte's with vader pursuing you and always appearing out of nowhere like michael myers (failing the qte's had hilarious cut scenes I would always mess up on purpose to watch them lmao) and the kamino cutscene was an entire level on the wii where you weren't allowed to use your lightsabers and almost none of your force abilities. Almost because in this level (instead of the first kamino level) you learn the jedi mind trick in order to pass the test of the dark side cave. But the animation of the ps3/xbox version was just *chefs kiss*
I absolutely loved this game. My only problem with it was that it felt so short compared to the first one, which makes sense considering it was made in like a year. Also I don't think he's actually a clone. Definitely seemed like it was all about Vader getting into his head IMO.

I swear man everyone thinks this game is a rushed disaster, but the soundtrack, the overall mobility Starkiller has in this game, and the memories I get from this game goes to show that you can make a masterpiece with a small story.
You should do both DLCs for both games in the nest video. It’s a good story what would’ve happened if Starkiller actually became the new apprentice and how powerful he really becomes. Plus you kick Ewoks, always a laugh
So you talk about the Jabba cameo (5:22), but neglect to mention that all the statues in that room are of Guybrush Threepwood (Mighty Pirate) from the Monkey Island games, and if you destroy them all you get to play as him in Galen's jedi garb for the rest of the game. Then the "game" picks up the slack and utterly ruins the maybe-Exile. Turning her into a fucking force ghost. The one that at the end of it all could not fucking connect to the frigging force, is now a fucking force ghost.
While i do talk shit about TOR, cuz it isn't even a good MMO, it does have amazing parts. Namely the cutscenes. Never in my life have i seen better contained stories within what's supposed to be a trailer, the people that made those trailers should have been given free reign to the franchise, and we'd prolly have been happier as a whole.
But the previous mention that Jedi Fallen Order is the best content of SW that we have had in the last 10 years, still stands.
You know what would be bad ass? If Kenobi gets a second season Galen is the antagonist being sent to hunt down Obiwan instead of the inquisitors.
They could also have him cameo in, Bad Batch season 2, Survivor, the ending of Eclipse, or just make a third Force Unleashed or a full remake like they are doing with KOTOR
I would hope for an HD remaster of the first and a full remake of the second with a more fleshed out story, maybe a 2nd act or something
The existence of the inquisitors doesn't mean star killer would have to be one, infact him decidedly not being one is even cooler.
You dared to play 2 before 1?
@@SalusFuturistics no, I played 1. Got into a car accident then discovered 2.
You NEED to play the dlc for this game. Trust me I fills in the holes of the game and honestly acts as a “what if” marvel thing.
sadly it requires a console to play the DLC as it's not on PC for some stupid reason
@@LordStarkillerII Wait what?
@@terrariangolden6985 yeah the Endor DLC was never released on PC only console, modders have tried to port it with no luck
This game was my entire childhood!!! Thank you for going through the force unleashed games and reminding me how epic they were
For the final Vader fight in this game I mind controlled the other clones to fight Vader for me, it was historical because Vader doesn't defend correctly against the clones only the player. The level of messed up the sith mind trick was is incredible lol
I'm still holding out hope that we'll eventually get a Force Unleashed 3.
I was hoping for that nearly all my life after I played and finished it, but the company got disbanded. I still have some hope tho.
Nothing good can come from the rat.
@@notkulesz Lucasarts has been revived as Lucasfilm Games, though.
These games were made for PS3, Xbox 360, and low end PC's. I couldn't even imagine what they could do these days. Especially with the destructible environments.
Me too g 😔
Galen just being an absolute powerhouse even as a clone in this game just shows how badass he is
This game was my introduction to Star Wars- I have to love it
It's nice to finally see some positive words about this game.
I'll admit the game ain't perfect, but I still love both Force Unleashed games.
Loved this game so much, my mom used to tell me off so much when I used to play this on xbox 360 all day. That dark side ending still scares me.
This game was sooooooo beautiful when i first played it, idc what anyone says i love the 2 Force Unleashed and i was hoping there would be a 3rd
The line he gives to Organa on Felucia after beating Maris pretty much sums it up:
,,You really think she's free? She'll carry the memories of what she's done here......Forever....."
Even though he has been nothing but a slave to Darth Vader this whole time, he still sticks by him because he has nothing else, nobody else.
You summed up my thoughts exactly. OG Starkiller had so much conditioning to not overthrow Vader, despite fully being capable of doing so
"They are real to me!" is a line that's stuck with me since I first played this game (on the DS. Would not recommend). Sam Witwer's delivery is just... a gut punch? heart wrenching? IDK, but I still quote it at every opportunity...
5:20 - More importantly a Monkey Island cameo.
Sam Witwer is my all time favorite voice actor. He puts so much raw energy into his lines and I love it
The first part where he free falls and lands in the big room with all the glass shattering all around you.
Another win is that, i can’t remember if it’s in a novel or something, but Galen was actually scared of Yoda on dagobah, something like he can’t imagine how someone could live so close to the dark side cave and that yoda must be ridiculously powerful if he can not go mad living next to it
Sir I just want to say I appreciate you. I appreciate that you do this for us, for everyone.
I want to see Everything Great About The Wolf Among Us one day
I absolutely love the Force Unleashed series. I love it for its badassery, for the amount of freedom you get with the force, the countless ways you can take out your enemies, the awesome and completely free customization, and even the story. I love it despite all faults. I definitely fell in love with it as a kid, and I still every once in a while revisit the series. It's just too good.
I will always love that they used “Chad Vader: Dayshift Manager” as the voice in this game! I loved those videos!
Just wanna say that your videos have made me have a better light on a lot of games. Your doing a great thing shining light on games, thanks.
Fears I will use as a leash until you do what I could not; let go"
Also with that scene, vader is looking from left to right and Galen from right to left. As we know, in a lot of screenplays when a character is moving forward is is from left to right on screen. I think this was on purpose. I think you could say it was to show that in the end, no matter what Vader does, as he moves forward, Galen will always be focused on him up until the/his end
Great video as always, friend!
So Vader could control him further?
2:10
this scene should have atleast been 5 wins for me atleast: this is the moment I realized that "Oh yeah, this is all my money's worth and time, right here, right now".
not to mention the storm troopers corpse launches are random every time
source: I played this game start to finish a whole lot
I’m so upset you didn’t talk about the darkside ending, like man, that was such a good and fitting twist for this story
Super surprised you didn’t talk about star killers theme song when mentioning scores
I would love to see you cover the Jak and Daxter franchise if you ever get a chance. They were so much fun growing up.
Only 2 levels pissed me off about that trilogy. The water slums escape mission. And pac daxter. Makes you rage.
@@splitsong7368 Water Slums for sure. I just jet board race to the exit. Pac Daxter can be annoying but it's not horrible I've gotten so good at it I can clear in my first try it might take like 15 minutes though.
Back when lightsabers were goofy glowsticks anyone could use, before Disney fixed them and gave them ommph and the pain people felt was vivid + showed that they were difficult to wield w/ Rey (although its a tiny bit annoying Reva is fine after being stabbed, but at least she's very injured)
Starkiller is the doom slayer of star wars. I like to use the experimental jedi armor as like his praetor suit
I remember having the same feelings playing through this game. Of incredible--but unrealized--potential.
2:03 He was actually just in ‘isolation’ for 13 days. He even asks Vader, “how long this time?”, implying it’s happened before.
Ever since I played this game, "Fighting the Gorog" has been my absolute favorite part of the soundtrack ever! Of all time!
Vader stepping back just reminded me of a scientist like Frankenstein taking a step back to admire their own creation
1:40 Zoro: Just make a good mouth guard and he'll be fine.
1:41 if he got a third lightsaber it would hold like zoro from one piece
I love how at 8:55 there’s a slight loading error and you can just see the eyeballs pop in for a second lmao
Imagine Galen Merek as the antagonist for Obiwan Season 2 if it gets one, that would be the coolest thing ever.
I dont know if Obi Wan could win though tbh, he BARELY beat Vader in ROTS
@@perm1thurple581 the games exaggerated Galen Marek’s powers for the sake of fun gameplay, read the novelisations.
@@perm1thurple581 there are more to win than battle, Obiwan wins by causing Galen to not want to kill him and go on the journey to the light side same as koda. He just has to survive long enough to do it and that's where the fun is
Love the Dutch Van Der Linde reference at 4:17
Great video, keep up the good work!
Just so you all know, at 2:30 the “stay away from me” guy is voice acted by the CHOCOLATE! guy from SpongeBob (and a bunch of other characters in that show and many many many many other things)
10:18- there was something about decommissioning clones. the OG battlefront 2s campaign mode, which i believe is cannon had a reason for the clones being decommissioned.
I wish that they could do a soft reboot of this series, take some of a the good story ideas and make it fit into the canon. Maybe we’d finally get the third game we always wanted
In the dlc of the first one u can not only kill boba but also Ben and turn Luke the the dark side and the second game has a dlc where he’s working for palpi
4:58: It didn't handle it. It just gave us everything from the previous games during the tutorial. They just added a bunch of new abilities to make the Metroidvania aspect of the game still work.
lol love how vader is all confused “the force??” 0:39
that WOOOOOOO at 7:13 is so much like the original i thought it was a recording
I hope that they will make a 3rd game, I absolutely love Sam Witwers video game characters from starkiller to Deacon in Days Gone, it'd also be insane if it was made by the people behind the new God of War games
BTW I'm fully aware the odds of a 3rd game being made are about 0% but hey, I can dream
My man nailed that cr1tikal yeehaw at 7:14 soo vucking perfectly.
Best part if the game is being able to whack stormtroopers against each other lmao
I absolutely loved this game. My only problem with it was that it felt so short compared to the first one, which makes sense considering it was made in like a year.
Also I don't think he's actually a clone. Definitely seemed like it was all about Vader getting into his head IMO.
You're entitled to your opinion of course but personally I think it's a much better story if he is a clone.
Release date Oct 26, 2010 (same date as Undead Nightmare DLC for RDR and Rock Band 3) and Fallout New Vegas was week before, & AC Brotherhood 3 weeks later.
It never stood a chance lol
@@nicholasmadison7692 it's why I remembered it, played NV, heard bad reviews and grabbed undead, finished both off then AC Brotherhood and when finally done that got FU2 for 19.99
a little detail I love about this game is that on kamino you see small steam vapours coming off of Galens lightsabers
At Star Wars celebration, Sam Witwer signed my Kobe’s with the quote “You’ve taken everything from me.” This went down at the same time Ewan McGregor surprised everyone on stage. While my friend in the crowd started the Kenobi chant you can hear through the video, I happily talked to my favorite person to ever work on Star Wars. He’s starkiller 😂
I appreciate you uploading 1st and 2nd game back-to-back
I'd like to see a more tame Galen Marek come back. Maybe like a 'Sith' counterpart to the Jedi series with Cal Kestis.
Keep them coming this fast man love the videos keep it going!!
I remember playing this game and just trying everything to slice off stormtrooper parts. I do miss these damn games.
I think if this game had maybe a year or more of development time, it would've been the most perfect game
5:32 I'm so happy someone else loves that "..But" as much as I do!
So you talk about the Jabba cameo (5:22), but neglect to mention that all the statues in that room are of Guybrush Threepwood (Mighty Pirate) from the Monkey Island games, and if you destroy them all you get to play as him in Galen's jedi garb for the rest of the game. It's one of my favourite easter egg unlocks of all time.
I’m loving these reviews/win counting! Can you review Republic Commando? Interested to hear your take
0:55 Actually, most people do the opposite. The OG is 'Galen', as he's actually Galen Marek, whereas the clone is called 'Starkiller'.
4:09 after rogue one, Vader 100% is a theater kid as a sith lord
At 8:55 is a creepy visual glitch when the camera cuts to Galen. Only his eyeballs appear for a split second
Blessing our feeds with TWO back to back vids!
I love how fast you put this video out. Awesome.
I love to think that vader saw starkillers reverse hilt and just said "you've got to be kidding me!" Thinking of ahsoka.
5:16 Jabba is not the only cameo in that room, the statue are suppose to look guybrush threepwood from the monkey island games
