There was a good reply from those comments, “can’t a woman be attractive in real life? You don’t see men complaining when they see a super attractive fictional man”.
When I see Zangief, Dante, GUILE, Machamp, etc, I just think about how to become like them. I don't want to see a super tall, thin pencil of a person to "represent" me, all that does is make me resent me. If a video game character being better looking than me is what makes me cry, I shouldn't be allowed to vote.
While you're right with what you're saying, I do think there is a slightly different historical context. For men, whoever was the strongest or had the most power (status/money/possessions such as land) was deemed desirable. Women (who, in most cultures, were not allowed to have property, fight etc.) "only" had their beauty and wombs to offer. So it was always the pressure of being the most youthful and beautiful and producing lots of male heirs (and yes of course there were exceptions for both sides, but in general, this is how things were). For a man, physical attractiveness was ultimately next to irrelevant. What counted was his status and what he could provide. So yes, women can be attractive in real life and men prolly won't complain about the looks of another guy in video games, but for women, who traditionally had to fight with their looks to get a man's attention (and us having more rights, including choices, is a more recent development thanks to cultural changes and emancipation), overly attractive girls in video games CAN be upsetting for some. Especially for those who have been treated badly for not fitting the beauty standards. Ultimately, the issue boils down to 2 extreme sides being fought for with people getting extremely defensive on both sides, rather than finding a middle ground. It should be perfectly fine to have attractive girls in video games, but it should ALSO be fine to have average looking or even unattractive girls. Both things can absolutely be true at the same time.
@@Windmelodiebut in this era women didn't actually want the same thing they used to want during old times, besides how can video game women actually cause problem to them. They already not like nerds right so us nerds are focusing on the women in games, movies and leaving them alone so whats the problem.
@@adaman.shr.3538 Yes and no, especially since most religions kept preaching and telling people where their place in life was. So while most women accepted their lot (since they didn't have any other sources of information), even those who didn't usually got severely sanctioned because of that. Over time, after the era of Enlightenment, where people were becoming better educated, and after wars, where women realised they were very much capable of doing things, things started to change. And even today among women we have those who are more conservative with regards to a woman's place in life and those who crave for more egality. As for the video games, why exactly many women feel that way, I cannot tell. BUT it is something we see throughout the years and throughout different media. Studies have shown that women, while using it a lot, also suffer the most from social media use (with regards to mental health and self-image) and all those super perfect looking women (who use filters, make-up and plastic surgery). Back in the day, women and girls compared themselves to photoshopped images of magazine models and celebrities. Studies have even shown a correlation between how young girls (before puberty) feel about their body images before and after watching certain Disney films. We may be biologically ingrained to compare ourselves to other girls, I don't know for sure. All I know is that it shouldn't be too much to ask from understanding from both men AND women and that we meet in the middle ground. I'm sure we can find a way were both sides are at least mostly happy :) Video games are awesome and fun and it's sad to see people fighting over them because of a lack of compromise.
@@Windmelodie All you're saying is interesting and definitely true, but it still doesn't justify or explain them attacking men over it and preventing beautiful women in video games from existing. And not because: “it's just a video game, it's fictional, why should they care” because in all honesty, it's just moving the goal post. No, because the reality is that men are nowhere near the first to be blamed for the bad self-image of women because you mentioned beauty magazines but who runs and watch those, ultimately? It's women, not men. It's also women who criticize other women's appearance the most, and it's no even close to the level of men doing it (if they even do it). As a matter of fact, most men will say that most women are beautiful (w/o makeup), while the reverse is not nearly as true, so it's definitely not men that will create a complex for women about their look. Only a small minority is considered ok by men and only an even smaller minority is considered ugly. And even then, they're lucky because makeup is normalized, while for men it isn't and considered weird/feminine (Korea being one of the few exceptions), so they can still look pretty with makeup. Women are their worst enemy when it comes to look and beauty, and generally attack both women _and_ men. It's not a coincidence the saying: “Don't try to understand women: they understand themselves and hate each other” is so popular, on top of being confirmed by women themselves haha So sure there's obviously a biological explanations for them to think and behave this way, but if they want it to stop, that means it's a fight they must have with themselves, not men or any external factor, like video game or the industry of whatever. Unfortunately, their only way to “solve” (or rather, cope) with the problem so far is to blindly state that all women are beautiful or princess, which is the stupidest thing to say. No men (and certainly not a single woman on this planet since the existence of the human species) ever said all men are kings, because any man (and woman) will laugh at it and not take it seriously, as it's obviously heavy cope. So they should definitely try to work on their own behavior and perception, just like they asked for men to do it for decades over their own problematic/wrong behavior, instead of blaming them despite being innocent of any accusation (like the objectification, as if enjoying watching a beautiful woman is objectifying, forgetting they're the source of their own problem).

Worse part is when a game comes along and there's female characters that are supposed to be ugly or less attractive...the anti-woke crowd will still cry woke.
It's not a coincidence the saying: “Don't try to understand women: they understand themselves and hate each other” is so popular, on top of being confirmed by women themselves haha
So sure there's obviously a biological explanations for them to think and behave this way, but if they want it to stop, that means it's a fight they must have with themselves, not men or any external factor, like video game or the industry of whatever.
"Women are people, not objects of beauty they don't owe you attractiveness or anything else"
Men are people too, not objects either. They don't owe you handsomeness, sex appeal, or anything else.
