I was trying to think what kind of movie like Timecop is made today ( High concept gimmick, Big action star, Sci-Fi, Maybe comic book adaptation ) the best I could come up with was Bloodshot (2020).
This was my second van damme movie I saw in the theatres after double impact.... great movie...I always thought van damme should have done a sequel to this film...this could have been his franchise vehicle like terminator was for Arnie and Rambo for sly.. could've taken inspiration from assassin's creed
I love some of his earlier movies like Bloodsport and Wrong Bet but I think Timecop and Sudden Death are the two best films Van Damme ever made - shame he didn't work with Peter Hyams more as they made two excellent films together.
Oliver, thank you for your work on the creation and maintenance of your channel. Certainly an amazing feat. Would a retrospective on “The River Wild” (1994) be a possibility ? Gonna grab the sf Blu-ray today as well! Lots of love from California!
I’d love to sit in on one of these commentaries. Timecop is an influential force in my sci-fi writing. There is so much behind the scenes info about this film and the sequel that never came to be - no, I’m not talking about the 2003 straight to DVD movie.
If you wish to visit the mall, it's in Vancouver Canada called the City Square mall at 12th and Cambie. It was an honour getting my groceries where Van Damme did a fight sequence.
Time travel is really fun, but it's surprising how quickly one acclimates upon arrival. I actually tend to forget the timeshift within a couple weeks. Very strange!
The submachine guns used in the opening scene "gold wagon robbery" are dubbed M91S custom made for the film business in 1991 by an independent firearms engineer/armorer in Vancouver BC who apprently insisted on "moderate anonymity agreements" with movie producers. They were blank firing only, open bolt, 9mm, using Uzi magazines. Perhaps less than 10 were every produced? They have been misidentified as H&K MP5s, Uzis, MAC10s, Indep Lusas and the list goes on. Cheers.
I frequently reference Time Cop with my dad. He always says he wish the car could drive it self cause he gets to tired driving the car long stretches. Which I always reply. You'll have to wait for Them to invent the Time Cop cars. It's sort of a in joke between us
Peace & Life Everlasting with Jesus ❤️ HEAVEN is the dwelling place not only of God, but also of the angelic beings who worship Him. This was the very first movie I ever bought with my own money I wish I still had the VHS
Really one of the best Van Damme movies ever 👍
No idea Audi from DF was joining Oliver here after blindly adding this to a playlist, lovely surprise 😂❤. Never a proper JCVD commentary without him.

@@markevayne I avoided them for the longest time, I thought you had to pop in blu Ray simultaneously, but they work without that

This is my favorite JCVD film.
"TimeCop" is one of my favorite Van Damme movies. I also liked "TimeCop 2," starring Jason Scott Lee.

Great video Oliver, but you need tone down on the polite fake laughing lol
I hope maybe one day you'll collab on something with Stuart Ashens, he's such a cool guy :D
He is pretty chill and funny. They’ve done quite a few things together now.
The 2nd best movie of JCVD
Kick-boxer or AWOL?
@@sambradley1256 Best is Bloodsport
@oliverharper plz do a burbs 1989 review. ❤

A classic movie
Who kept bloody coughing? 🤨
I mean, Audi clearly said he was sick at the beginning.
