I’m sad that you didn’t mention that, in Japan, due to different soundtracks, the mysterious screen in sonic cd is actually much more light hearted
This video was almost exclusively about the US rendition of history - Nintendo wasn't synonymous with video games elsewhere, the Master System was actually somewhat of a success despite how it performed in North America, calling it the Genesis, using the US box art, etc.
Normally, I'd get a bit annoyed at _yet another_ video that only speaks from the North American perspective, but in the case of this video, I'd rather it flow well and maintain atmosphere than constantly stop to acknowledge that history was different in other territories.
I wouldn't call "WORK THAT SUCKA TO DEATH" with that screen being lighthearted. Sounds more like an artist's plea for help.

For real though, the editing in this video was very impressive. It was very stylistic and the gradual decrease in resolution throughout the video is really unique that I don't think has been replicated on UA-cam. It makes you feel subconsciously uncomfortable, in an interesting way. I'm a bit of an editing buff so this kind of stuff always impresses me. Well done.

I've always found the conception of sonic intriguing, it's fun to look back at how sega/sonic were the first to shake Nintendo, even though it wasn't a shake it was more of an aggressive strangle.
It's fun to see how a character that beloved is now seen as nothing more than the butt of all jokes, to everyone that isn't a die hard fan at least. While sonic is not the golden boy of videogames, he is very much an example, albeit an example of what NOT to do. Or maybe it's exactly what u wanna do idk your life.

I do really like how you make your videos based on editing. You give a review of games or other things in this kind of ilusion style of editing. Geometrical shapes, washed out paint like colors, shapes on shapes, black and white slowly gaining color, video game characters interacting with each other etc.

Gameplay was a bit blah but the main theme is a real slept on gem from Crush40's catalogue, and as far as the story goes the series has done much worse.
While it's far from what I'd consider a high point it's certainly *many* miles above Secret Rings, it's storybook partner.(I swear, if I hear *"mAkE 🅱️ElieFs ReBorN"* one more time I'm gonna commit S CD "I'm outta here )

I thought throughout the whole day about this video and I know it is a Halloween episode and was made to be scary, but that was scary in a real way. You painted a grim picture for the Sonic franchise and I truly felt a sense of dread for the hedgehog. I truly am scared for his future unironically.
SEGA is no longer the “liberal” company you think it is. Sonic has been regressing from heavy mandates as to never create a PR disaster like 06 again. That’s why Forces is so reliant on nostalgia and did nothing with its premise. There are plenty of series that SEGA owns that they don’t even put resources into like Jet Set Radio. Sonic has embraced the memes too much as they now represent the apathy they show to the Hedgehog.
Don't forget about Boom. Boom was basically 06 all over again, if not arguably much worse. Although, both games were the fault of SEGA higher ups treating the dev team like slaves and doing shit behind their backs.

Forces tries to play it safe, atleast as far as sega can get. Which makes the game just feels so mediocre
