Thank you for another incredible tutorial on color correction. Your guidance has made a world of difference in my projects. I’m profoundly grateful for your expertise and the time you invest in helping us grow.🙇♀🙇♀🙇♀
Uwww was just waiting for this vid specially by U....😊 And brooo it's freaking cool how easy u handle everything and describe it so smoothly👌 Just glad I found yr channel Take my word bro yr ch is going to boom very very soon...🙃 Just pleased us more n more with these types of crazy vids!💞
Excellent walkthrough, dare I say "step-through!" 😂 All the way through I kept thinking, I thought Mr Bean said "4 steps." I guess a better title would be "4 Nodes to Great Color Correction." Ah, but it is such good information and a reliable method to apply across all footage, so who is counting steps anyway!? I benefitted hugely and appreciate the time you put in making this video. Thank you❗
Hey Jer! How are you? Glad you enjoyed it! And thank you! I think your 4 Nodes is a great suggestion!! I should have used that during filming. I was struggling to find an elegant way to say that the first step, although it sounds like 3 different "steps", is actually a single action that you'll do quickly with experience, but I don't think I communicated that well. Well, we live and learn! :)
THANK YOU, I perviously saw your masking tutorial and it was AMAZING! this one is no different.. people like you make learning stuff actually fun and understandable
@@coffeebeanstudio Thank you. Eagerly waiting for your upcoming videos. Also, just a small tip for the color page, color correction and grading series for beginners: Most of the tutorial series on Davinci Resolve's Color page do not include practice files for following along. Can you please make sure that you add a link to the footage so that viewers can follow along?
I've always been lost doing color correction. Thanks to another excellent tutorial from you I now have a much better plan for doing it. Could you please post a link to the two videos you used during this tutorial as you did in your previous videos? Having the same footage you used is one of the things I like most about your videos. It makes it a lot easier for us to follow along. Thanks.
Thank you Neil. You are so welcome, and I am glad this video has helped. Apologies for not uploading the follow along footage, that was a mistake from my part. I have now updated the description - Here's the link for your convenience - coffeebeanstudio.gumroad.com/l/foursteps :)
Thanks for watching. If the clip doesn't have any whites in it, you'll want to make a judgement call of what you want to consider the brightest part of the image and balance it.
beautifully made sir, One request from my side, please attach the shortcuts whenever you use one, as it will be very helpful for us. Like how do you make the serial node or how do you turn any node on/off... Thank you s much again
Yes, sure. I used to do it for my previous videos but I wasn't sure if people were finding it useful, and it was taking quite some time to do it. But if it is helpful, I'll surely keep doing it. Thanks for the feedback.
I’ve seen other tutorials showing to just use the offset when colour correcting so you have more flexibility when aiming for a pushy colour grade, would appreciate any feedback, i use s-log-3 cine.
I'm really enjoying your videos. I have a problem understanding your critiques of the red, blue and green graphs. I can't really discern what you're talking about. I don't really know how to read them...
Hi. Thanks for watching and I am glad that you are enjoying it. The red, green and blue graphs are the histograms for every channel of colour. The taller the graphs are, the more prominent (brighter) the colour is, and the shorter the graph is, the less prominent (darker) the colour is.
another excellent video. Thankyou. Question: when I hover over whites or blacks with the color picker in my videos there are no indications on the Parade scopes. Was this added for the tutorial or a feature I can turn on? I have 18.5 Studio version
Hi Murray. Thanks for watching and I am glad you liked the video. Please click the three dots near the Parade scopes, and in the dropdown select 'Qualifier Focus'. That'll get the indicators visible for you.
Hi Vikram. please clearify for me, is this method of color correction also works with Log footage? Shall one should convert the Log footage first into REC 709 or managing it's color space through Color Management then apply your method?
My preferred approach would be to add a colour space transform node at the end of your node graph and then do the changes explained in nodes prior to the cst node. The cst node should be setup to change the clip from log to rec709.
Hi ... the video look nice but unfortunatelly i don't know what "balance" mean when you talk about shadow, mid tone and hilight (playing with red, blue and green). Is there a level they have to reach? Are they have to be at the same high? Do you have any video about colour wheel and ho to use them?
To "balance" something, it means to make the "height" of the point across the red/green/blue the same. I don't have a video about the colour wheel just yet, but it is something that I have planned for an upcoming video. Thanks for the suggestion. :)
@coffeebeanstudio thanks for replaying me so fast. You used some profile colour from the camera, but what happens if I have only a flat color like on the Dji Mini 3 Pro drone? Can you explain colour correction using all the tools on the colour page? Maybe you can do that in more steps. Thank a lot anyway.
@@The_Idea_of_Dream_Vision Interesting. Thanks for letting me know. I'll test it out and see if I can see a perceptible difference between the two. Cheers! :) Might make a video out of it hahaha
Thanks for watching. I wouldn't bother with the Automatic Color Correction. The steps in the video here should take less than a minute to do once you have practiced it, so the Automatic Color Corrector is more trouble than it is worth as it usually doesn't get it right a 100% and you still need to fiddle with it to fix it! ! :)
Very good sir, explanation skills is at top notch 🔥 and do provide the raw footages for the practice sir as everyone doesn't have the camera & let me get your contact details, will share the requirements we need for the paid in depth video editing mastery course we planned of, want to share my ideas
You sir have just updated my color correction skill. Thank you!!!

Holy crap dude you're just giving this away for free. Thank you so much.
Any time! Thanks for watching! :)
Love the simple way you explain the topic. I have seen multiple videos on this topic and by far this is one of the best videos. Thanks for making it.
Thank you! :)
That vectorscope video IS the best vectorscope video, ever, and this is the best color video for beginners, ever.
Wow, thanks! :D Thanks for the testimonial! :)

When you make the CTA to the vector scope video in the middle, no card is showing up
Thanks for letting me know, I'll check.
Hi, when i hover image areas, i don't see those circles in the parade. how do i get the reference like you are showing in the video to fix primaries?
On your colour page, near where the scopes are click the "..." button, and then choose "Display Qualifier Focus"
Hello there,
how is the high level of your RGB parade is 4096??? and why?

Isn't the HSV the better way to increase saturation?
Hmm. As opposed to using the saturation slider? Not too sure about that. Have you seen differences in your projects?
@@coffeebeanstudio yeah there is difference and it seem to be the most preferred way by pros

One thing with Resolve is that there are often a number of ways to achieve the same result.
Very helpful video. Whats your thought on using the Automatic color correction tool available in Davinci resolve?
