    Buy a 2x4, some eye bolts, and some lag screws. Mount the 2x4 into a stud vertically and put the eye bolts at even intervals and you'll have yourself a very safe, sturdy anchor system for your band workouts. It doesn't cause much damage to walls if you ever need to remove them.

      I would have to get something like that approved since I rent my house, but certainly an option if you own it outright.

    Bought one of these, but my cheap apartment doors are iffy with these when I go heavier.

      Try using it closer to the hinges. That should work a bit better depending on your door. Just make sure it is safe when using it.

    Question: did you sell your Vitruvian when you moved? Or is an updated review on the way? 👀

    • @GamerBody
      @GamerBody  6 місяців тому +2

      I returned the Vitruvian before I got the Speediance. Main reason is that they locked you into buying a membership for it to work, and I wasn't about to fork out $30+ a month for that. You can still do stuff, but it is really limited without the membership (at least when I had it).

      @@GamerBody Gotcha - Plus, the lifetime membership being over $1k is overkill 🙃

    At the [1:02] time, we see the door flex... Getting a bended door from a long use of this might be an issue.

      @GamerBody  6 місяців тому

      Good point. I may use it more towards the hinges side of the door in the future.

    Having ripped doors off the hinges in my life, this seems like it creates a lever arm on the top hinge that will strip the screw over time. Closing the door is essential. The bodylastics ultimate door anchor solves all of the issues this might have and adds a ton more functionality. It will fit in any door gap so that you can use the entire door frame to support the door. I have one and I love it. The only drawback is that it's always on your door and therefore aesthetics may be a concern.

      Not too sure. If I only use it in the vertical plane, and move the anchor point closer to the hinges I think it will be stronger.
      I have got door anchors jammed in doors before (regular ones) forcing me to break the frame to get them out. The Bodylastics could also fall into this same category as the spacing between the frame and the door might actually get it stuck. I do agree it is better to close the door though, but Ill see about moving the anchor points a bit.

    This is a more extreme solution but is by far the safest yet most resistant: two welded hammock hooks to the back of inner beams of concrete walls... seriously.
    We use a hammock daily but I don't trust those Amazon hooks that are supported only by screws so I got a blacksmith and a construction worker to make this happen.
    Very often those hooks are supporting 300-400 pounds, even for 8 to 10 hours a day and after years of abuse, they are just fine.
    So I figured I'll use them for attaching my bands as well.

      Probably can't do this to a house I rent, but certainly a solution.

    If that clamp brakes off the door, HOLY SHEEET that's Gunna hurt, sling shotting towards the money maker.

    • @GamerBody
      @GamerBody  6 місяців тому +1

      Yeah, it says it can support 500lbs of resistance and so far in testing it has been fine. Hopefully that holds up because it will hurt if it flies off.

      @@GamerBody on a different note, I finally got a Ironmaster bench today!!!:)
      I got it for $300 with 3 attachments: dip bar, pull up bar, and sit-up thing...plus wheels ^-^

    this kind of looks dangerous. i think you should consider mounting a band anchor to a wall stud instead, i'd be nervous about this solution

      If it snaps off that's at least $2000 in dental work, but hey it only cost you $16 on Amazon

      We will see how it hold up. Also, don't look directly at it to protect your face :)
