    We had a portable ice maker for a year, used it all the time (it's HOT in Dubai!)...
    It gave up the ghost a few months ago, and we're back to bagged ice in the freezer again...
    The investment wasn't that much, it was convenient, and kept up with our demands...
    Good luck with yours! It's a nice looking unit...Just in time for the SB!!!

    Hi James, looks like that ice maker you have is similar to my pop cooler in a sense that it uses peltier solid state device for cooling. If it’s works silently (except for the fan) then it does not have a compressor, which is why peltier is a really cool device.

    Almost everything in Costco are made in China. China has been trained by American companies well.

    Hello James!! hope you dont mind but I have a solar question. We have a house thats about 70% done in cebu city area. We added a hybrid 8.25 off grid inverter..15 panels at 550w and one 51.2v x 200ah..My wife wants to purchase two electric shower heaters rated near 6000w each. Will that overload our solar system if we shower during daytime?

    • @MyPIDream
      @MyPIDream  7 місяців тому

      If the Status of Charge (SOC) of your battery is set above its cutoff percentage and you are a hybrid system connected to the grid then your system will easily be able to provide power to your two electric on-demand water heaters 24hrs/day. How your system satisfies the load (your house electrical demand) is based on your inverter configuration. During the day, our configuration is set for the solar panels to satisfy the house load and also charge the batteries. If it's cloudy and there is not enough solar energy then it will use the batteries to satisfy the load. If no sun and the batteries are at the cut off percentage (for us 20%) then it will rely on the grid to satisfy the load.
      So to make it simple, you can run your entire house to include your on-demand water heaters and you will not have any issues.

    you realize your freezer makes ice, or maybe you could buy bagged ice

    • @MyPIDream

      I have a Samsung ref here in the Philippines and in the US. Both ice makers have major issues with freezing up and stoping the production of ice. I think there presently is a class action against them. We were buying ice for events using Grab & Food Panda but I feel having the ice maker here will be more convenient.
