The carpets even looked clean; it wasn't like they looked worn or dirty. I was happy to see that the anti-hair wrap worked; I've heard some negative reviews about that feature. Great job!
hi Rodger this is mike. I just wanted to thank you for demonstrating that for me since I asked that question back in your unboxing video. I'm really impressed with how well that worked
I highly recommen this vacuum too.. I just got a Shark DuoClean.. I used it on my 2 couches in the living room that looked fairly clean. I'd never vacuumed them because I didn't think they needed it. I was amazed/disgusted because it basically made two small piles of dust/hair the size of 2 small rabbits from the two couches. I used it all over the house and put it on cardboard so my whole family could be amazed/disgusted. It was so satisfying knowing all that was out of my furniture and carpets. Its funny I see your video and you did the same exact thing putting it all in a bag to see the accumulation.
You really did an excellent job showing this machine. I joined because I do want to see the maintenance tips you will show. Thank you for your demonstration. God bless you too.
I dont even wanna know what youd pick up at my current house. Weve had a pretty horrible vacuum for years and I'm about to get a new one. I'm prepared to be horrified haha
I really want this! We have a Dyson V6 now- but I want an upgrade. It would be interesting to see you hoover over with the hoover that is in the home and then go over it with one you’ve brought with you. I seem to recall- either you, or someone else I’ve watched in the past- used to do this. And the stuff that still came up after already hoovering with the one vacuum was absolutely shocking!
Very impressive ! I have a couple older models (1 year old) but they don't have that new self cleaning hair roller thingie though....but I still love them !
Sad? Feel better. LOL, This past summer I was so bored I made myself a heavy cardboard DOLLHOUSE. And in a few weeks I'm going to make a Barbie house from a refrigerator box. Nope not for "grandchildren" either both of them for myself. ( I had collected the dolls and furniture for it in my 20's since I could not afford that stuff growing up ). Covid's been so boring. I don't actually play with the dolls and stuff I just look at them. Did I mention that I am 57? LOL. I enjoyed ur video. Our 25 year old Orek bit the dust today and I need a new vacc'y and wanted one with a dust catcher that won't get hair wrap ( will get new kittens soon ).
That thud was like an explosion from a movie 🤣 thankyou for your reviews. Ive just treated myself to a shark duo clean after years of lugging a henry up and down the stairs. I swear its changed my life so youre not the only sad one 😁😁
Video is very good on use and cleaning of various parts. I had hoped in depth maintenance. I started to fit a new power cable, but to be honest this is NOT an easy fix. It would be good to remove a small panel to access power cord fixings, I've had to completely strip down the whole assembly, screws are security type. At present the parts are strewn over the kitchen table and I've given up, cannot get it back together. In these days extending the life of any goods to prevent dumping in refuse. I am a competent technical guy.
I sold this long ago, so there will be no further videos on this machine. Shark’s like many modern vacuum cleaners are not designed to be repaired, even a simple job like replacing a cable is made dry difficult for the average user, let alone someone who is used to repairing electrical items. If you can’t get it back together and still want the machine, Shark will sell you a complete motor base complete with lead for £70.
I've just got a second hand one n my god I love my miele hoovers, this has stunned me, I love it great suction, bloody adore it!!!!! Thanjs for video as mine was second hand I had no user guide!!!! It's....... A beauty
I bought a Shark vacuum from Costco after our Dyson Animal Ball died, it cleaned very well but after the third use the brush roller completely seized, so not impressed! I returned it and bought the bagless Miele dog & cat canister vac, which is awesome but 5x the price, I own two cordless Dyson V8’s for quick cleaning but both of the batteries died completely in ~13 months, under warranty it took a few months to get new batteries as they were back ordered, Dyson is dead to me, crappy support and they stop making parts for their older machines trying to force you to buy new. Anyway, hopefully your Sharks last longer than mine, it did a good job for the three weeks I owned it. 😩
Haha! I have a test home for yah! Hehehehehehee... Hmm wow. The vacuum seems to handle hard to carpet easily. Wow!!! Okay, this is going on my list of needs... lovely!
I’m not sure if you’ve come across the Zero-M UV700 model yet. It’s the Costco version in the US. I’d like to see your thoughts, and how it compares to this Zero-M Uplight review.
@@ibaisaic My friend is a professional cleaner and stayed at my house while I was away. ( I had shampooed my carpets and hovered them myself before I went away) Before she left she cleaned my whole house with my upright Hoover. When I returned I bought a Shark flexology battery vacuum and I cleaned my house and emptied it 5 times. The canister is fairly small but I was shocked at the amount of dirt the Shark found in what was a "clean" house. ( my house is fairly large) I love my Shark it's the best vacuum I have ever used and I have tried most of them.
Hi. I have this machine and am really pleased with its performance. Can the large brush be removed? There’s something stuck to the clear plastic in a place that I can’t get to. Thanks.
I want to see a comparison of this and the regular anti hair-wrap vacuum cleaner, i want to know which is more powerful at vacuuming up things. I suspect this is less powerful in order to keep the weight of the handle down.
That looks a fab hoover. I love the colour of this shark but I would want a cordless 1. I wonder if they do a cordless version with the anti hair rap head?
I love my Shark upright id like a cordless one next. Randim i know but where is that property im a proud Welshman and would love to stay there looks a really nice home.
Hi, not sure if you did a review of a newer model hz500, but can you comment how the stock compares to the upright shark (black edition) that you reviewed recently?
Heyup Roger as with many people money is scarce this vac looks great 👍 I’m ready for a new one but noticed on eBay there’s quite a lot of used ones please can you advice I have a dyson ballbut I need a lighter one for up and down stairs thanx Barnsley bird
Would you recommend this out of all other shark corded for a 90% carpeted house with no pet? We always get lotsa hair normally, so prefer the anti hair wrap head. The house also has lotsa stairs, it's a town house. Many thanks
Thanks Rog, do you mean this one? ua-cam.com/video/SEPJKrjxJaw/v-deo.html. How about dyson small ball that you reviewed recently? I'm tempted to get the v11 as you've shared on other vid about the £100 off currently. But it will only work for 8 minutes on high, not sure if medium (40ish mins) be enough for me. Any advise would be much appreciated. Many thanks
Yes, that Shark is currently my favourite. I prefer it to the larger model as it’s more nimble and lighter to use in lift away mode. The Dyson Small Ball is good on carpets and floors but I find it awkward when using the hose and tools. The lift away on the Shark is more convenient in that respect, especially for stairs and inside the car. In my opinion the Dyson is not a replacement for a mains cleaner. Using mine today I’d forgotten how heavy it is in the hand and keeping your finger on the power trigger is a pain.

Also I felt that the locking mechanism on the end of the hose wasn't going to stand up to the test of time.also I did not like the mini power brush attachment you would think for that price that they could have made an electric version.and the reason why I didn't like it is because it does bog down like many other are driven power brushes. That dirt bin is a bit small, looking at getting a new machine, I did think about shark, but not sure if I want a stick one or not, they seem to be underpowered compared full size machines, certainly since i have a cat. I did have a Vax for 2 days, it was returned due to it sticking to the carpet and no way to adjust the airflow, been looking for a new machine since. Machines are so expensive these days, and they look so cheap and plastic. my old cylinder Electrolux that lasted for years was made of metal, sounder like a jet engine, but boy did it pick up :)
@@ibaisaic Thanks for the reply. my problem was that the Vax just stuck to the floor, I could not move it and looking at the reviews after i got it, other people had the same problem. Surly putting a slider in to control the suction is an easy thing to do. the Sebo looks ok, but not sure if I really want to get that amount for a cleaner. My next door neighbour have just got a shark cordless stick machine, looks ok, but again a bit more than I want to give just to clean the floor. But it looks like i may have to go to that price to get something that will work on my carpet. When I am off work in the next couple of days, i will grab my next door neighbours Shark and see how it does on my carpets.
Hi Roger. Another great, thorough demonstration. How do you clean the anti hair wrap brush roll? Would you recommend this model for homes without pets? They make it sound like it’s a great deal - $200 off/half price - but I never see new Shark models discounted this much a month after it launched.

No, you can’t use it with the soft brush alone. I know that most loop pile carpet manufacturers recommend you avoid using cleaners with a revolving brush as it can cause the pile to go fluffy as I know from experience. Sebo upright vacuums such as the X7 and Felix have an optional soft bristle brush that can be used on loop pile carpeting.
@@non-stickfryingpan6242 Thank you for your advice. I don't want to spend too much as I only have two carpets in my house but unfortunately they are both loop, one being an expensive sisel on the landing. I will look into your suggestions. Thanks again.
A lot of the reviews on this machine gave low ratings for dust filtering and emissions. Do you know what the European rating is for this machine in that category?
I don’t know the EU rating but I found this information. Anti-Allergen Complete Seal - Captures and traps 99.9%* of dust and allergens inside the vacuum, not releasing them back into the air you breathe.**Based on IEC standard 62885-2 Cl. 5.11 at 0.3 to 10 microns

Wow, they surely must never hoover the property, I always thought Vax upright hoovers are excellent at cleaning.... I think in this case we can blame the cleaners for the lack of cleaning..... think you ought to send this video to the owners......
This shark is awesome Roger. Either the house wasn't cleaned very often or this is a lot better than the vax. Shame you had this though. I was going to get you this for CHRISTMAS. Lol. How's the sightseeing going in North Wales. ?
I am really interested in buying that one. I am tired of cordless version with low battery even for the most expensive brands. This video was made a while ago do you still recommend it?
Unfortunately as I use a lot of different cleaners, I can say if I would recommend it now as it hasn’t been used much since this demo. I stand by what I said in this and the unboxing video and if maintained properly, I can’t see why it won’t perform well. It certainly picks up better than most cordless vacuums I’ve tried.
@@ibaisaic thank you. I spent forever comparing the ones on the market in Ireland and ended up buying a below 40 euros one on Argos which works like a dream ...so far...... Now I have a small house no carpet except the stairs.

Over all I f**g love this thing.!! #noregrets
Oh my goodness Roger, how can you touch all that gross muck.? 😁
There are far nastier things I could touch than a bit of vacuum dirt.
I've read that Sharks can wreck your carpets as all the "fluff" that looks so impressive is actually mostly carpet fibres .
That's a worry. So not really a good vacuum then if it takes out carpet fibres.
Go to 2:20 for hoovering/vacuuming 😊
Which model is this?
Just watched your six million dollar ma in video

This is what the average carpet will retain within its fibers. So gross. I’m glad i live in country where carpets aren’t a thing , especially in the house !
Imagine him renting your house
Lol, right? He'd pay you to clean! Perfect guest lol
My landlord loves me. I keep the house immaculate. I keep hinting at him discounting my rent 😏😏
