Holy shit that tip about the adapter that lets you "move" the hot shoe around the rig is amazing. Just dug mine out from the OG box (because I forgot about it). Also, I'm 99.999999% certain this video was shot in Chicago because your interiors and exteriors look like every apartment I've ever lived in.
Thanks for the info about being able to record separate levels to two channels. I've been using the K3m adapter without realizing this was possible. Great help, thank you!
This is what I needed to see today. I preordered the FX30 to be a b-cam to my A7Siii's. I went without the top handle for it as I prefer my A7Siii's be the main cam for documentary type jobs. I've hesitated rigging up my A7Siii's but will likely be doing so soon.
Don't you get the fan noise from your monitor being right next to your mic? How do you deal with this? Also, can you link the top handle you got on your rig that fits so well with this mic adapter? Thanks for your response. Nice vid!
Help! I’m recording top mic in input 1 and lav into input 2 but when ingested into premier they are both on the same track. Tried separating tracks in premier but it still stays on one track
I'm working on new rigs for my show and I have been watching a ton of Videos and Rig set ups. I had to comment to let you know I really appreciate this particular video. Your style of teaching/explaining made this very easy to watch and I came away learning a bit too! Thanks! P.S. where are you from?
what you are getting is basically a better pre-amp and xlr inputs. For the same price you could get a Sound Devices Mixpre-3 and have the same benefits + 32bit float, but without the same form factor.
Thank you very much for the video, I bought the same Sony XLR K3M system and watched your video, can you use 3 microphones at the same time? System has 3 inputs in1 in2 in3, but if you can select only IN3 or (IN1+ IN2) or only IN1, there is no possibility that all 3 select IN1 + IN2 + In3 together. I would be very grateful for your reply. Kind regards Farnoud
you can use x4 mics at the same time. the input selector is to move each input to track 1/2 or tracks 3/4 ... all 4 are recorded no matter where you place the switch. x2 XLR mics and x2 on the 3.5mm input eg DJI/Rode wireless
Hey man, all your videos are very informative! And of course I subbed! I came across this video looking for a RIG that works for the a7siii and the K3M (the thumbnail did the trick). But I was suprised by the added information you gave about K3M I didn't know about! And the thing that's not even related to the RIG nor the K3M... the way you color graded the talking head section. I really love the "look"! How did you get it? Thanks.

Can you do a video on the settings I used mine but the audio channels aren’t available
That's the best review i've seen on this product so far. Great job man.
Appreciate that B!

Honestly I've worked on big productions and the a7siii has not denied me any opportunities yet
@@Brookssmedia And it shouldn't. It's a beast in a small package.
Would Sony ever update this for 32 float ?
K3M does look like a valuable piece of gear 🫡

Very good question! So I haven't experienced that BUT! I did move my monitor to my side handle just in case I did experience it!
Ok I was going to say I want that whole setup because it's cute 😂😂😂😂

Hey Tanya on your k3m did you select int 1+2 or int 1?
You think this would be possible to rig up on a dji rs3 with the a7siii? Im just wondering if it will still balance or not.
I tried it before and it didn't work but maybe you'll have better luck
Appreciate the details. Great vid
Glad it was helpful!

K3m is $300 cheaper with the shotgun mic and allows you to connect via the multi interface shoe.
Great video. Awesome rig!

Would love to see your rig
Picking mine up this week I got lucky and found one 😂
Nice!

Thanks man! Glad to have you. Believe it or not I got a lut from Sony's site and just made slight tweaks
Cool beans, thanks for the intel man and keep up the great work!
Rig breakdown video coming soon I hope.
