Greetings from Canada James. You are now 228 munros ahead of me---I climbed Ben Hope on a spectacular June day in 2014. Fantastic! Thanks for all the great videos and thanks for introducing me to Beluga Lagoon!
Ben Vane is one of my favourite hills and I've climbed it a few times. It's steep, but with beautiful views at every turn. I've had so many great days in the Arrochar Alps. Once you've finished the Munros you must come back for the Cobbler.
It's a brilliant hill, can see why it's one of your favorites! Arrocher exceeded my expectations, will definitely return for the cobbler, Cheers, James
Great walk again today and beautiful photography with Lexi your dog - who really enjoyed those views too judging by the tail wagging etc etc ... Thanks for sharing your days in the mountains much appreciated by an ancient mountsineer .....😅😅
Fabulous James. You certainly wouldn't have given it a 9 on my first ascent at New Year in the 60's. Loch Sloy made the national news that day with 4 inches of rain. I went straight up from the dam, at least sheltered from the gale until I popped out at the top in driving sleet. Views, well just water and vegetation.
Knew as soon as I heard Kilfraggan there'd be some choice tunes getting used up your future hills - amazing year James, you've smashed it and then some. An inspiration as always!
Loves watching this video - great information and the drone footage and music was out of this world. Lexi had a great time and thank you for sharing 🎉.
While climbing Vorlich the last few times I’ve noticed some serious crevasses opening up near the summit the mountain seems to be separating some of them are invisible during snowfall but easily deep enough to fall into. I’m surprised no one is talking about it. Vane is a cracking climb and well worth it. Often neglected which is strange.
Great joy watching, thank you ever so much, James. I wish you and yours a Merry Christmas and all the best in the upcoming year! I’m looking forward to more stunning impressions from your beautiful country in 2024. Kind regards Martin
Another great video, very enjoyable to watch. Working my way through the Munro’s too but day trips from Tyneside makes long days, the clear day views make up for the low cloud/poor visibility days. Appreciate your videos 👍
lovely film James...I remember climbing it with my pal Ken and when we got to the top, one of my boots disintegrated as the sole separated..Ken then pulled out a roll of gaffa tape (don't ask!) and he taped it up much to the amusement of those on the top...I eventually made it back to the car park and then chucked them in the bin!
Ben Vane is my favourite Munro. As you can see its a feisty little pocket battle ship of a mountain with its five false summits and steep traverses but well worth it for the spectacular views. It's well known as a sole destroyer as funnily enough I had a similar ripping experience when my Zamberland boots gave out and I flopped of the mountain like Worzel Gummage with my boots flapping all the way home 😅 Here's tae Kindred Spirits and Tortured Soles / Souls.
Another year of superb walks and videos and good to see your very willing companion Lexi enjoying them too James-All the best for the Festive/New Year period..
Well done James. Another great video with superb views, especially with the cloud inversion. We had a cracking cloud inversion in the Lakes a couple of weeks ago when that snow bomb hit. 2 foot of snow on Dow Crag looking down on all of the cloud, with us in clear blue sky. Have a great Christmas and look forward to next years viewing. Cheers, Ozzy, Gloucester.
Well done James, really enjoy your no nonsense films. A fine hill with great views. Like you I was dragged up by my dog on a fine winter’s day. Thanks for all the great days out this year.
Did this and Vorlich , cracking walks and views , even a wee side track up to the dam , great footage as usual and a good stretch of the legs for the doggie, Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year , cheers from Brechin👍
Another great video James...Im going up the Arrachar Alps for New Year. Love the place..keep up the good work and Merry Christmas... Keep the videos coming.
Absolutely beautiful video again, Thanks for all the stunning videos this Year James, they are so beautiful relaxing and calming to watch, just what we need in this crazy world we are living in right now, shed a tear at just how beautiful our Country is. Can I ask James, do you sell any of the pictures you take, I would definitely buy them. Merry Christmas to you, Lexie and all your family, have a rest! And look forward to seeing you in the New Year.xx
Thanks Heather, glad you are enjoying the videos! I don't currently do prints but its something I might do in the future, I am currently making a website so keep an eye out there. It's scottishmunrojourney.co.uk All the best for 2024! Cheers, James
I guess all we can say is that the early bird catches the worm, James - and small is beautiful too. You have Lexie well trained, I see - she doesn't seem bothered about scent trails at all... Have a good Christmas and New Year now, and hopefully we'll catch up again in 2024!
Stunning as always James! You film the mountains that they look better than in reality🙂 Good to see your little four legged friend too. Lexie is the name? Merry Christmas to you both. Jonas
Thanks Jonas, yes Lexi will hopefully join me on more adventures in 2024! Hope you had a great xmas & new year, all the best for 2024.. might see you in the hills one day! Cheers, James
Just watching your wonderful videos from an overcrowded and hectic South East of England. At 70 years old I'll never get to experience those Munros from high, but maybe there's still hope for me gentler route
Hello! love your vids, make me want to put my boots back on and start climbing hills again (I tend to stick to lower routes these days). May I ask, where do you licence Beluga Lagoon? I'd love to use some of his songs in my videos.
Another great video, the drone footage just keeps getting better. Looking forward to the remaining 53 munros next year, hopefully you get as lucky with the weather as you did this year 😅
Hi James, what a wonderful looking mountain. I’ve heard it’s the king of the false summits. Thank you so much for sharing yours and Lexi’s adventure. And thank you for all the other ones over the year. Have a lovely Christmas and New Year. All the best Dave. 😀🥾🏴⛰🎅🏻🎄
I was up there in September, and you're not wrong about the false summits! Despite being a small Munro it's no pushover - unrelentingly steep, and scrambly at times, and of course you start almost at sea level.
Nice one James! Think I have been up there around 8 times😂. Good wee winter hill close to the house. Well done mate! Next years a big year!! Have a great holiday and see you in 2024!!! Paul
After getting back to the track after the descent here around 4pm I saw a Mt Fuji style ring of cloud around Lomond. Decided my iPhone12 was not good enough to do a pic justice and just live with the memory. Did I make the right decision? Can’t decide haha
@@ScottishMunroJourney thanks for that. I’ve got a Mavic 3 but wishing I got the air 2 s instead. Get that drone 100% for An Teallach. You will be blown away with that one
Greetings from Canada James. You are now 228 munros ahead of me---I climbed Ben Hope on a spectacular June day in 2014. Fantastic! Thanks for all the great videos and thanks for introducing me to Beluga Lagoon!
Ben Hope is a great munro to have done! The more people introduced to Beluga Lagoon the better, Cheers, James
Superb pictures as always 😊
Very nice 2023 adventure.... Greetings from the Philippines 🇵🇭

Definitely worth the 9 last time I was up vane sat for a couple of hours talking it in stunning views nice one James
Certainly is a cracking wee mountain and area James.
Don't miss out the corbetts when you're back in the area.
Yup, I remember Ben Vane as being an easy and quick mountain to climb, with great views at the top.
The music in your videos are beautiful
Lovin the Paw Lexi 😍! Yet to tackle the steepness of that one mate! Cracking views 😎

Had to be done, the new album is great, Thanks for watching and all the best for 2024! James
Honestly, that shot with the drone looking over at the cloud inversion over Ben Lomond, absolutely stunning!!❤️❤️❤️
Loves watching this video - great information and the drone footage and music was out of this world. Lexi had a great time and thank you for sharing 🎉.
Smallest Munro, but one of your most spectactular videos. Superb.

I will definitely be leaving that one for when the snow melts then, Ben Vane also had one or two.. Cheers, James
Great joy watching, thank you ever so much, James. I wish you and yours a Merry Christmas and all the best in the upcoming year! I’m looking forward to more stunning impressions from your beautiful country in 2024. Kind regards Martin
Thanks Martin & all the best for 2024. Cheers, James
Thanks James. Fab hill & views. And thanks for introducing me to Beluga Lagoon.
Great hill, worthy of your 9/10. Beautifully filmed. Season's greetings to you and yours. Some year you've had. Thanks for all your marvelous films.
Thanks Annie, all the best for 2024!

I found Ben Vane to be a wicked wee Munro .. Not helped by losing my car keys on the way down. Merry Christmas James
That would be a nightmare, it is definitely a tough "wee" mountain! All the best for 2024, Cheers, james
Might just be your best scenic video out of the lot. And you’ve had some stoaters. Absolutely stunning pal
Thanks Mark, this was a cracker to finish off 2023, All the best for 2024. Cheers, James

Fantastic video, one of the first Munros I climbed with my Rough Collie back in the 1980s. Love the drone footage too

That opening scene from your drone was stunning. I really miss this type of walking
A great area for hill walking. You hit the bullseye for views on the day.
There are so many great options in the Arrochar area. The Brack is a fine hill too.
A 9 😱
Thought you were going to say 7 😅
Naa its a good wee Munro , and great wee video 👍
No definitely more than a 7! 😂Cheers, James

Absolutely fantastic, the drone footage is out of this world, stunning footage all round of a magnificent area.
Thank you, its a great area for sure 😁

Yes many a false summit on this one Dave, all the best for 2024. Cheers, James
2nd smallest I believe. Beinn Teallach is a few inches shorter and infinitely more boring.
I see walkhighlands had it as join lowest, my mistake. Yes Ben Vane definitely the better of the two.. Cheers, James
Climbed it at the weekend - underestimated it - it was like being on a stepper machined for 2.5 hours :D
Great videos but a bit more footage of the incline would be great mate to get a better idea what it's like.
It is that steep it was hard to capture 😂
Great weather for it. Your wee dug is a star! Have a great Christmas and New year James. Thanks for sharing your journey in 2023
It was a great day, Lexi loved it too.. Thank you & all the best for 2024. Cheers, James
Nice one James! Think I have been up there around 8 times😂. Good wee winter hill close to the house. Well done mate! Next years a big year!! Have a great holiday and see you in 2024!!! Paul
Can see why Paul, its a great wee mountain! Lovely area.. All the best for 2024 too mate, big year for us! Happy hiking, Cheers, james
After getting back to the track after the descent here around 4pm I saw a Mt Fuji style ring of cloud around Lomond. Decided my iPhone12 was not good enough to do a pic justice and just live with the memory. Did I make the right decision? Can’t decide haha
Is that the Mini 4 pro drone your using buddy. Great quality well done
Its the Air2s, Cheers 😁
@@ScottishMunroJourney thanks for that. I’ve got a Mavic 3 but wishing I got the air 2 s instead. Get that drone 100% for An Teallach. You will be blown away with that one
Is Beinn Teallach not the smallest?
Think they are both very similar, both rated 915m but Walkhighlands has Ben Vane as the smallest 😁
Hi, do you think its safe to hike this in feb
