What I don't understand is why is Samsung voice input so bad. It's not a little bit bad I mean it's absolutely horrible to the point that it's pretty much unusable

Every time I text speech It always seems to put (IS) In front of every sentence I would say i'm taking my dog to the park and the results would be is puking me sog too flark Like what does that mean and I tried everything to fix it Seems like older phones were better with that
I folied agree with you comma it is horrible period I can't use it when I need to use it so I use my google pixel six a multiple times a week because what's the point of not being able to dictate text period

THANK YOU! Had two previous Samsungs, but my new one had HORRIBLE voice to text. Randomly putting periods in the middle of sentences, spelling out the word "period" when I said period, and so on. I did find "voice input" setting, but that did not work, as you mentioned. So glad I found this video, and thanks again.

Omg so funny, yep the damn "period" my problem was always the letters I and u, they would always get mixed up. I would type the words "I will see" and the phone would type "u will see" LOL

Exactly, it was doing the same thing for me, putting periods everywhere, so annoying.
My phone updated yesterday and now the mic icon is nowhere when i went to use it today. I reset my phone. I deleted Messenger. And still no mic icon. Its not on my keyboard now while im typing this 🤪 I dont know how to fix it...????

I followed your easy instructions to a "t" and learned, with the latest Samsung update, (Dec,2023) its been moved yet again! initially it was under what you stated, "Samsung keyboard settings"-- now you under , "keyboard list and default"- you will find "google voice typing" - I appreciate you taking the time, and getting me to the near vicinity! My family is peer pressuring me to get an iphone, with simple instructions like yours, I won't cave!!! Thanks!!
I tried this and changed to google voice input but still no microphone. However, I do have a way to record my voice and then send. But that's not what I want. What to do?

You are honestly a lifesaver! The default Android voice to text was driving me absolutely crazy! Especially since I am texting people 95% of the time instead of calling. You seriously made my life so much easier and I super appreciate this video!

Thanks! Glad I found this video. My new S23 is HORRIBLE with talk to text. Words come up that aren't even real words. Question marks and periods randomly show up without even asking for them and a slew of other issues. Bye for now! I'm off to do the switch to Google.
Awesome. I know Samsung wants to use their own product but at some point... and I think that point was a couple of years ago, I suggest they give up and leave it at Google.

Thank you SO MUCH. What's weird is it WAS originally on google, apparently, then one day it switched. I just noticed it was horrible and somehow different. Had no idea there were two options for voice-to-text. Finally, months later (today) I got around to googling it and your video showed up. I really appreciate the simple fix. :)

Thank you, thank you. Finally switched from Moto to Samsung, and this was the only change I hated. I rely on voice to text and samsung's terrible voice typing caused so much random embarrassment lol.... I could change it with each text but was so frustrated that I couldn't get it to stick. Anyway you're my hero today.

Holy s*** I cannot tell you how much of a lifesaver this was. Just switch from a Google pixel 2 a Samsung since my pixel completely turned off on me. I've made this entire message in Google Voice to typing on my Samsung and I cannot thank you enough

Thank you! I thought I was stuck with that crappy Samsung thing changing my punctuation to whatever it wanted to and not putting a space between my words... The Google still capitalizes words seemingly at random and then doesn't capitalize obvious proper names, but I can live with it. Thank you again and again!

WOW! What a relief. I've had a terrible time with Samsung Voice, sending almost incomprehensible, and often funny texts. If I said, "question mark," instead of adding the punctuation, it just wrote it. Note that he said they had changed the location of the place to make this change, with their latest update. I hope this won't happen again. I feel like I owe this guy a drink.
Mine (was) insisting on spelling out coma in addition to other errors too numerous to list.

This video is a lifesaver! I just upgraded to the Samsung Galaxy S23+ from my Samsung Galaxy S7 and this is so much better than dealing with the Samsung speech to text function. I've had the old one randomly capitalize words that didn't need it, it would start capitalizing proper nouns only to change them to lowercase by the end, it would spell out ending punctuation marks, etc. Google Voice is not perfect, but it's definitely a step up from Samsung's speech to text function.

You can save settings and such on your Samsung profile I've had most of the same settings & little features transfer over multiple devices.

In the months Ive had my new galaxy phone Ive been blaming google for the atrocious voice to text. Thank you for pointing out Samsungs dishonor.
Samsung actually put "shut up" at the end of one of my texts.
Life changing.. omg... didn't realize my phone switched back to Samsung... it couldn't do numbers... kept completely spelling them out... for money, time, etc... so annoying. Also ran all sentences together as one word. Google is MUCH better, Thank you

Finally! I've spent MONTHS dealing with this stupid voice to text adding "is" before EVERYTHING. Me - "Find the nearest car wash." VTT - "Is find the nearest car wash." I don't care what you say, it will add "is." Super annoying... Thanks for this fix. 👍👍

This video changed my life!! After the last update, I was very frustrated with my voice texting. I even went in to change it to google (with no idea is auto changes back) and since it kept on I assumed it was on google and the update just sucked. If you had not done your video the way you did, where you showed that it auto changes back, I might not have finished it and never knew! You did great!!!

Samsung's voice to text being horrible is an understatement I don't see nowhere where Samsung's voice to text is getting any better thank you for sharing that because I was really annoyed voice trying to do a voice to text with the Samsung

Does this work on a samsung s10e? I cannot find it there. I also can't seem to search just for a samsung s10e. Everything google takes me to is for a newer phone. It's maddening.
Thanks so much for this, I've been having problems with my voice to text either shutting off right away or not recognizing my voice, so annoying. I was just about to head out to my local Verizon store. I have the Galaxy s22+, it had been working great up until recently. I never even knew there was another voice to text option.
