    I've been changing tires by hand my whole life, racing motocross it was a weekly choir. This is a different way to do it, seemed like butter !
    I don't think it would be that smooth for me that way lol. We all have our ways, and all are the right way as long as the tire is on. Beauty bike brother, and the tires make it look SO much better.
    My father has the 500 classic, I just ordered him a set of Shinko 244 for his bike afyer watching your video, and seeing how great the dual sport tire looks on the Enfield !

      Mine too!, good to let folk see my mistake and not do the same to their shiney pride and joy bike!,
      Comments all point to locking front brake with a bootlace etc and putting a bit wood under each foot of the centre stand, you can rock the bike and do one side at a time, that should get the hieght to get the wheel out and in safely on your own 👍
      Cheers Bruce

    I recently tried and failed at first to remove the tubeless tyres on my Vespa 300 because there’s so little give in 12” of rubber and there’s only a small amount of wiggle room in the wheel rim well. I thought changing such small tyres would be easy because some years ago I had removed and refitted my Bullet 500 (2000 model year) tyres with new tubes and rim tapes but I was so wrong. Tyre lube (washing up liquid) helps so much to get the tyres off as well as on. However, I also had to resort to two Toolstation 600mm tyre levers plus four of the size you used and a trolly jack and cargo strap to break the beads! This titanic struggle was required to clean and repaint the alloy rim beads, which had oxidised and thus the tyres were deflating from the beads. I should have filmed it but I was too knackered. Anyway, well done, it's not as easy as it looks.

      @Coastriderscotland  2 роки тому

      Thanks, and that sounded like an epic struggle with the wee wheels if old!
      I just re did the front wheel this morning as had fitted it the wrong direction lol! And it was pointed out by several folk afterwards in comments 🤣 it was easier as be on and off and guess I got the old nack of doing back after many years away from doing dirt bike tyres! 👍

    • @DylanEtherington
      @DylanEtherington 2 роки тому

      Oh I see from your opening shot that the front tyre you purchased is rated as tubeless. I saw this piece of info on the Heidenau site: "Found in most common Enduro sizes for most manufactures as either a K60 or a K60 Scout. Every Scout is a K60, Not every K60 is a scout. If your rim requires an inner tube, a quality inner tube can be safely used with any K60 Scout". So technically the tyre you purchased isn't rated for the rim you put it on. I'm curious though as they look like lovely tyres and I'd like a set myself - what would the difference be between the K60 and K60 Scout to make them able to take tubes or not?

      Hi Dylan I just read this reply after after your previous reply!, as you will see the tyre was not hard to fit, and you may notice I fitted it in the wrong direction! Which some others noticed and pointed out in comments 🤣👍 so I did swap the direction the next day and can answer the next question! It was easy to break the bead to remove 👍😁

      Hi Julian, I painted the bike myself as a 4th Royal Tank Regiment despatch bike - my late Dad was a gunner in Centurion tanks so did it for him, I will do another video about the tank markings and my my Dad as have fantastic picture of him and his unit training in Germany

    Easiest way I found to refit the rear axel, is remove the silencer (3 bolts) you can see when everything is lined up. I seem to remember they're either 7 or 9 things to get in line, a real pain. Hope it helps someone.......

      Hi Steve thanks,
      Warro just posted a real easy way to access the wheel by raising the mudguard, will look into it soon as replacement rear tyre on the way 😁👍

    • @stevegresty4181
      @stevegresty4181 8 місяців тому

      @@Coastriderscotland Yes, its much easier with it pivoted up as Warro has said. I removed both my mudguards shortly after purchase to coat the undersides with a liquid rubber compound, hopefully this should help reduce stone chips from inside rusting through on the chrome versions I have. When I came to install the rear wheel I found it so much easier to remove the silencer to view all the alignment hole in the various pieces, plus I'm getting on a bit & I need an easy life. 🤣🤣

      Hi John I have never had my previous trail and enduro bike wheels balanced but friends with bigger bikes like Africa twins etc do when they get them shop fitted

      I would get them balanced personally, but as Bruce says you will probably be OK with out bothering, as the bike isn't really quick enough to worry to much about it.

    couple of suggestions... bit of gaffer tape on the tyre levers might help save the rim.. and i have a cheap £19.99 blow heater from argos i use to warm tyre up especially the last bit that goes on, makes a huge difference..... u lucky ya didnt have any safety grip things to go in as well... its a horrible job.. i recently nipped the tube on my trials bike rear.. long time since i have changed one it was not fun.. ..i been using the green slime in tubes it definitely works.... .. bike looks perfect for them lanes

      I replaced the rear in May on a hot day and it was so much easier than previously in November!, tyres deft go on easier when you do them often, instead of yearly! 🤣👍
