    Your video is perfect. When the tank is full, if the psi is about 25 PSI, the restrictor valve will automatically open, waste drain almost stop. Before I watched your video, the waste drain is always gushing, I thought it is a bad product. Then I added the pressure into the tank, and the waste drain suddenly stop. haha, thank you.

      I tested many times. When the tank is full should read 50 PSI, the pressure makes sure the waste drain stops when the tank is automatically refilled.

    If, when you put the pressure gauge on the tank, water comes out of the valve, you will need to replace the tank because the diaphragm has ruptured allowing water into the air chamber. It is not repairable.

    Ok. Still no success with my 1 yr old GE RO system after changing filters. Water now drips out one drop every few seconds with faucet open. My water shutoff valve below sink is stuck so I removed top filter to turn off water. I can’t drain the tank bc it drips one drop every few seconds. I bought tire gauge and it says 29 psi. I haven’t ever touched the air valve. Any clue what to do? I am so frustrated. I also removed and checked the restrictor valve the other day and it was clear. Thank you so much for your help with this.

    5-7 psi = 0,34-0,48 bar, less that half a bar.
    I pumped mine up to 6,5 bar which is 94 psi and was wondering why it didn’t work 😂
    It’s really just a few pumps with a bicycle pump, maybe even just 1 pump.

    Thanks for sharing this video. I understand that to remove all water from tank, faucet need to remain open while pumping air to make tank completely empty. However, after tank empty do I need to close faucet and then add air in to tank upto 5-7 PSI? Reason why I asked because yesterday I follow these steps to empty out water from tank and then kept faucet opened while I was filling air in it. Therefore, when I was using car air pump, I see 8-10 PSI but while I stopped to check pressure it shows 0 again. Does it mean my tank has no air due to I kept faucet opened while adding air? Please advise. Thank you in advance.

    • @DIYwithMichaelBorders
      @DIYwithMichaelBorders  2 роки тому

      Thanks for watching, first you want to make sure that your cold water supply valve is turned to the fully closed & off position.
      Next, you will want to ensure that your faucet is open & you allow the tank to fully empty.
      Once tank is empty, you can close handle on faucet and use your air pump to pressurize your tank. We recommend checking your service/owners manual to verify the proper psi to alleviate harm or damage to the inner bladder.
      After tank is re-pressurized, you can turn water supply back on to allow system to fill.

    I'm confused, Other UA-cam videos say, Tank should be 35-40 PSI. I have a Watt's H2O 3 stage system. My Manual say's 5-7 PSI when tank is empty. Considering, the system has a 35-40 PSI automatic shut off. When tank is full should read 35-40 PSI. When empty should read 5-7 LBS. Is that correct? My system continues to drain water. I'm told because, I don't have enough PSI to activate the automatic shut-off valve. The confusing part is, do I check the tank when full or empty?

    • @DIYwithMichaelBorders
      @DIYwithMichaelBorders  2 роки тому +1

      Thanks for watching & if your manual says 5-7psi, that the psi you want to go with. As you mentioned, it’s important to mention that the 5-7 psi is when tank is 100% empty.

      @@DIYwithMichaelBorders They claim, the automatic shut off valve is a 35 -40 PSI shut-off valve. Meaning, when tank is full. line pressure should reach 35-40 PSI to activate the automatic shut-off valve. (My issues is, drain water continues to slowly flow. Cause, automatic shut-off, not enough pressure to activate shut-off.) I just Re-Pressurize my system last night. With empty tank I pumped 7.5 PSI. Yes, 1/2 PSI more then manual say's. After tank reached Full. I checked the PSI. PSI reads 17.6 PSI when tank is Full. My question is,,, What should the tank PSI read when Full?

      @@DIYwithMichaelBorders I have the Watt's 3 Stage system that I purchased from Menard's about 8 months ago for around $300. I have rusty Well water. This system works amazing giving clean/clear water. About a month ago, I started hearing water draining into the plumbing. Tank still fills, just hearing draining continually. Sound comes from that tiny, little hole at the faucet. Manual state's, 5-7 PSI Max. No more then 7 PSI max. I pumped 7.5 PSI into the system. No longer hearing the drain issue. After the tank filled I checked the PSI reading. With tank full I'm reading 17.6 PSI. Sounds about right considering, Water is 10 lbs per Gallon with a 1 Gallon water tank. 7.5 PSI plus 10 lbs = 17.5 PSI. Your not gonna get a lot of water pressure with Ice-Maker line. I was asking what is the PSI reading with a full water tank?

    • @DIYwithMichaelBorders
      @DIYwithMichaelBorders  2 роки тому +1

      @@danlevine2584
      Thanks for the reply. The little hole on the faucet is your Air Gap. This is required by most state law code.
      The system uses that Air Gap to properly ventilate the flow as it feeds dirty water upstream to the lower bowl of faucet where it then flows out of drain line.
      It’s very normal and common to hear crackling and suction sounds coming from that Air Gap as the system circulates water while creating RO quality and clean water.
      If your tank is filling to its capacity, that’s a good thing.

      I believe there was a misunderstanding between the question and the answer. I think Craig meant water leaking out of where the pressure is being checked (not the valve where water goes in/out on top). I read somewhere that if when checking for pressure at the shrader valve and water comes out that the bladder is shot and thus the tank needs replacement. Am I correct?

      Tales0925 Thanks for checking out the video and sharing your comment Tales0925! That's no fun. When you have the pressure pump hooked up to the stem, do you hear any hissing?...It's possible that your inlet valve stem has gone bad!
      However most of the time you experience these symptoms, your internal air bladder has a slow leak...leading to not allowing you to fill air bladder...annoying for sure!
      I recommend purchasing a brand new tank "which is pretty cost affordable" and you will have a new Air Bladder as well! Keep me posted!
