    Thanks for the how-to. You saved me a $100 bill the RO people charge for labor, which is reasonable considering travel and effort. My new GAC filter that I bought online was threaded 1/32" too small. I tapped it to size using a wheel lug bolt.

    True, I had read that there is a new filter you can add now to your RO system that will add back the removed good minerals as simple as just adding it to the faucet line... add a final stage filter containing crushed marble (pure calcium carbonate). Remineralizer Filter (for adding minerals) on Amazon.

    You are correct to say that RO water is aggressive... They call it "hungry water", as it will leach minerals from its surroundings. Because of this, I think plumbers in industrial settings make it a point to use PVC instead of copper pipes after the filter. Anyhow, what on earth is hydrogen mineral? Hydrogen is a gas, must be extremely cold for it to turn to a liquid, and I can't imagine how cold it must be for it to turn solid.

    My issue is .. the water is not coming out of the vale at the sink … it’s just dripping.
    I have it open to run . I can hear water filling the filters under the sink . Do I just wait or turn the vale off

    Now you'll have to excuse me as I'm talking of things beyond my knowledge, but yeah, we do need minerals to maintain our electrolyte balance. It's like there wouldn't be any conductivity without it... It is what drives osmotic and hydrostatic pressures, keeping cells round and healthy, ALIVE. Heck, conductivity is what drives life, imo... Electricity is what keeps our hearts pumping! So yeah, I suspect one should add a certain mixture of salts to replenish the water after removing toxins.

  • @emoneyblue
    @emoneyblue  11 років тому

    Your right! just in case you didn't know about the new filters they refer to as the # (6) will add BACK the good vitamins that were removed though the RO all you have to do is just cut the line going to the faucet and add the new vitamin filter and you now have great water... well that is until the new report comes out.... LOL, thanks for commenting.

    im obviously talking about reverse osmosis water since it removes essential minerals
    even world health had a very extensive article detailing the ill effects of drinking reverse osmosis water over long periods of time since the water is basically demineralized
    anyway, once you add the himalayan salt you can just give it a swoosh with a spoon,
    this helps restructure the water a bit

    • @emoneyblue
      @emoneyblue  2 роки тому

      Every six months would be best! But I sometimes go a year. I also have a ppm meter you can buy them on Amazon for roughly $30. If you look at your ppm meter when your filters are new your PPM meter reads at zero and after about six months it’ll be at 20 ppm after about a year it’ll be about 35 ppm which is still good because without it it’s probably 500. You could see the difference so I would recommend every six months if you able to do it.

    nice
    well i am probably going to give in to using berkey filters via DIY setup with a two bucket system
    i was going to get a portable RO system since RO will remove about 80% and is the best right now at removing fluoride
    im not sure about alumina since it contains aluminum oxide ions that attract arsenic and fluoride, my guess is the ions leach into the water and possibly affect the blood brain barrier(Alzheimers)
    its just the waste water issue
    unless that can change with portable setup?

    Hi and thanks so much for your video. I've had a similar system & components (EcoWater R/O-375) for about 8 years now without any major issue. Last time I replaced the filters though, I got carbon out of the faucet. Not a lot, just tiny, little black spots that gradually would sit at the bottom of a glass. I tried your suggested method of purging and it slightly improved the quality of the water but the little black spots are still there. What could it be? Is there any chance that the filters have expired?

    • @emoneyblue
      @emoneyblue  Рік тому +1

      Hello, and thanks for your comments. The large tank is a holding tank with a bladder inside. Every once in a while, you can remove it and drain the water out by holding the air pin in and drain the water but then you have to put it back to the proper psi are using an air pump and air gauge. It doesn’t require that much I don’t know for certain I believe it’s like six or 8 pounds on the smaller tanks don’t quote me, but no maintenance is required that I know of if it’s not broke, don’t fix it

    if the first filter when you remove the filter is white on the inside not green like the outside then you really don't need to do the other filters as noting went passed by that filter to the next stage 2 filter...your just wasting money here so you fell better but if the fist filter is green all the way to the core then the others are bad so change them out..
    id recommend a 1 micron filter here and a 5 micron filter on a whole house water PRE filter unit...

      @emoneyblue  2 роки тому

      @@scottstone3691 Well, I would remove one filer at time and run it. To find out where the blockage is. I know it can be a hassle sometimes when working with these systems. But I'm sure its a simple fix. STORY: After rebuilding my whole house water softener with duel tanks for 6 months I could not get high enough pressure on my whole house water softener. I took it apart three times COMPLETELY!!!!! and I paid a professional that said the blockage was in my main waterline and that a demo of walls etc was necessary... Nope not even close, one day while laying in bed and I thought to myself "could I have put the main hoses in reverse"?? (No way I thought to myself) I know what I doing... so I thought. Ahhhh! the only alternative was to pay the contractor $2500+ all the drywall replacement and paint. What did I have to loose.... Guess what ??? I swithed them and .... I HAD PUT IT ON IN REVERSE instantly had full pressure and the water system works PERFECT! ... Take a moment, take your time and think it through and never assume. Best of luck to ya! and keep me updated as I would like to know what its was that blocked you water system maybe it can also help another viewer. E$ "you got this Scott"
